REQUIREMENTS 1) Students must have G.P.A of 2.5 or higher. 2) Students must be attending a Wisconsin College, University, Technical or Vocational School on a full time basis, in pursuit of a degree in Law Enforcement, with career objective as a Police Officer. 3) Student should have good leadership and citizenship skills and involvement within the Monroe Community. 4) Student must be a graduating senior from the Monroe High School.
SCHOLARSHIP 1) Will pay $500.00 for one year. Any refunds to be made, due to the student dropping from school, will be made to the Monroe Professional Police Association Scholarship Fund. 2) Money for the scholarship will be sent directly to the registrar of the school the student plans on attending and is accepted to. 3) The scholarship will be paid in two installments: The first installment of $250.00 to be paid at the start of the first semester of Freshman year, and a second installment of $250.00 to be paid at the start of the second semester of the Freshman year. 4) Any money left from the scholarship, after tuition, fees and books, is to be refunded by the school to the student. SELECTION 1) Students must complete the attached application. 2) Student must have two letters of recommendations. Such person as a former teachers, members of clergy, high school counselors, a former or present employer or local business person would be excellent sources of recommendation.
3) A student who is a child, step-child, or grandchild, of a past or present Monroe Police Officer will be given first consideration if all other requirements are met. 4) The Monroe Professional Police Association Scholarship Committee will make the final selection. 5) Selection also based on financial need of the student.
