Dear Applicant: Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from high school! The Swiss Colony is honored to accept your application for a scholarship for continuing education. We support and encourage all people to continue their education throughout their entire lives. In fact, we encourage our employees to continue their education through daily learning in their careers, through our in-house training programs, by providing resource material in our Employee Resource Center, through PC training videos and with our educational reimbursement program. We hope you will also develop this lifestyle. Enclosed are the instructions for the scholarship application, the application, and other forms you will need to return by February 24, 2009. No applications or supporting documentation will be accepted after this date. Failure to supply ALL required material by the deadline will disqualify your application. Please note that during the selection process each area in the application is weighted by points. The more complete explanation you give for each area (i.e. how many years you were involved, what type of club it is, whether you held an office, received any awards, job responsibilities, your activities or involvement in the community) the more likely you will rate higher. Please do not use acronyms. Applications for technical schools versus 4-year colleges are judged separately. The best of luck to you in your future, and remember to never stop learning!

Sincerely,

John Baumann, President The Swiss Colony, Inc.

THE SWISS COLONY SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS Purpose The purpose of The Swiss Colony Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance to students of employees of The Swiss Colony, Inc. and affiliated companies through a scholarship program for the furthering of their education. We are offering between $500 and $1,500.00 scholarships for fall 2009 for four year college students and one and two year technical college degrees. Applications for technical schools versus 4-year colleges are judged separately. Scholarship funds must be used for tuition expenses only. Eligibility Students eligible for a scholarship must meet all of the following criteria: • the child of an employee of the Swiss Colony family of companies who is regular full or part-time and has been employed for at least three(3) years, or is a temporary employee who averaged 500 or more hours per year for the past five(5) years • currently a senior in high school or mid-term graduate • enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited school • a natural born or adopted child of an employee or one that an employee legally claims as a dependent for income tax purposes (does not have to live with employee) • have at least a cumulative 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) • status of the employee must remain current throughout the selection process - termination of the qualifying parent's employment, for any reason, prior to scholarship award immediately disqualifies the student's application (by April 15). Timeline Winners of the scholarships will be announced at your local High School Awards Banquet in May. Funds will be distributed as soon as college information is received from the student. Checks will be made out to the student and the educational institution. Please be sure to: 1. Complete the attached scholarship application for The Swiss Colony Scholarship Grant. 2.
