Call in to the ECIDA to call them out for bad decisions, Thursday, October 15 We are flooding the phone lines at the ECIDA to let them know that we don’t approve of them supporting businesses that pollute our environment, make their neighbors sick and stonewall requests for meetings from the community. We need accountability and transparency at the ECIDA. The call-in day will only work if hundreds of people call! Consider sharing this simple action with friends and family. Once you’ve made your call, be sure to report it! We need to know how many people called so we know how much pressure we’ve put on the ECIDA when we follow up at the end of the week. You can report your call by filling out the form on our website or by calling our office (873-5608) and leaving a message. ________________________________________________________________________ Phone Script You are calling Alfred Culliton, Chief Operating Officer at the Erie County Industrial Development Agency. The number is 856 - 6525.

Hello, can I speak with Alfred Culliton? (If they ask who you are, share your name and that you are calling with the Clean Air Coalition of WNY. If they ask to take a message, agree and relay the follow message, even if you don’t get Culliton). Hello, my name is _________, I live in Erie County and I am calling with the Clean Air Coalition of Western New York. I’m calling because I saw in the Buffalo News on Sunday that the ECIDA has given $130,000 in subsidies to Braxner LLC, a company related to Tonawanda Coke. A recent DEC report proved that Tonawanda Coke is poisoning our community. I do not want my tax dollars to be supporting businesses that pollute our neighborhoods and ignore residents. In the future, the ECIDA should investigate a company’s environmental and labor history before supporting them.
