1. General Information Thank you for choosing Rosenberg! Your ventilation system now will have several advantages over traditional belt driven fans, your building is now part of the future of ventilation. Please read this guide carefully and follow the installation recommendations as close as possible in order to maximize the performance of your system. Avoid unnecessary risks and also to keep it running for a long time.

Principles of operation: • ECFanGrid made of n high efficiency EC Fans including Power and Wiring Cabinet and a Differential Pressure Controller. • The ECFanGrid acts like a single Rosenberg EC Fan. But opposed to that of a single fan, the ECFanGrid offers built in redundancy, other advantages that the ECFanGrid offers over traditional drive solutions is its compactness and flexibility, uniform flow profile, less low frequency sound, integrated speed regulation, simple replacement and maintenance, easy cleaning and weight reduction. • The physical fundamentals of the ECFanGrid are simple, the volume flow multiplies proportional to the number of fans and the pressure ratios remain identical. Optimal distance between the EC Fans is an important factor to allow peak performance, again please follow the installation and mounting instructions. • For construction the ECFanGrid in all its modes require accurate and defined internal dimensions of the section where it needs to be installed. The Rosenberg ECFanGrid is an all in one solution – Plug & Play.

ECFanGrid Control System Principles: All fans can be speed controlled in a range of 0-100% by a common 0-10V signal. • All fans can be enabled by a common potential free signal. The enabling is made by closing the contact. • All fans are wired on a common collective error alarm contact. When a disturbance on one of the n fans is present this will be displayed either through 24VDC or through a potential free contact. • The regulation and/ or measurement of pressure or volume is made by the supplied differential pressure controller, prerequisite is the correct interconnection of the supplied piezometer rings at the cones according to the EC Fan installation instructions and the correct installation downstream or upstream of the pressure tabs that would be completing the differential pressure circuit in which the whole control is based.

Power and Control Wiring Cabinet

According to your project specific number of fans a certified electrician should wire all the fans together to the supplied Rosenberg’s power and wiring cabinet, made out of light grey (RAL 7035) coated steel sheet , IP54 protection all components are UL, ULC, CSA listed, wiring design and drawings should be supplied to you together with the package, the wiring cabinet external dimensions vary depending in the number of fans it will encompass, Rosenberg supplies cabinets for 2, 4, 6, 9 and 12 fans as a standard. Temperature range is -20C to +50C. Each fan is individually fused in accordance to CSA regulations; the cabinet has an independent 24VDC voltage source. Through this feature the redundancy capabilities of the entire system increases.

1. General Information ( cont’d) Fig. 1-1 ECFanGrid Typical Configuration

Note: A complete set of wiring drawings should be delivered with your cabinet. A certified electrician should interconnect all the components of the system.

The ECFanGrid Components Independent of the ECFanGrid type the main components of the system are as follows. • EC Fans • CSA approved Wiring Cabinet (460V and 24V power supply, 0-10V Control ) • Differential Pressure Controller PLC with ModBus communication capacity (0-10V signal output)

Existing types of ECFanGrid Depending on your required solution your ECFanGrid can be supplied in three different modes, although the operational concept remains the same, some of the components will have differences and the scope of supply varies hence installation recommendations are particular for each.

• ECFanGrid Frame Construction • ECFanGrid RetroFit Kit • ECFanGrid UnoBox Note: Please make sure what is the type of ECFanGrid you are about to install and refer to the proper installation guideline. Rosenberg. ECFanGrid: Installation, Operation and Maintenance Guide. V.1.0.17

Avoid lifting a fan by the inlet or discharge flange, motor, impeller or housing or any other way that may bend or damage parts.

Lifting Instructions

UNOBoxes are designed to be lifted and moved as a single module, Rosenberg does not recommend lifting connected UNOBoxes unless the modules are supported in a common base. 1. Carefully remove any crate and packing materials 2. Place the bottom fans onto mounting structure 3. Lift each fan individually into position

Foundation

Critical to every fan installation is a strong leveled foundation, Fans mounted to or within a structure should be placed as close as possible to a rigid member such as a wall or column. The structure must be designed for rotating equipment , static design for strength is not sufficient to insure proper operation. Any ducting should have independent support , do not use the UNOBOX to support ducting, Isolating the fan from duct work with flex connectionseliminates transmission of vibration.

Isolation

Structural bases must be sturdy enough to prevent flexing and vibration. Design, fabrication and installation of the isolation base are the sole responsibility of the customer. After the fan, isolation base and isolators (if any) are installed, the entire assembly must be leveled. Floor fans should be installed on a flat, leveled rigid foundation.

P-VALUE 206

Autozero calibration (-AZ) is an autozero function in the form of an automatic zeroing circuit built into the PCB board. The autozero calibration electronically adjusts the transmitter zero at predetermined time intervals (every 10 minutes). The function eliminates all output signal drift due to thermal, electronic or mechanical effects, as well as the need for technicians to remove high and low pressure tubes when performing initial or periodic transmitter zero point calibration. The autozero adjustment takes 4 seconds after which the device returns to its normal measuring mode. During the 4 second adjustment period, the output and display values will freeze to the latest measured value.
