LVRC PROGR A M medically managed withdrawal Medically managed withdrawal is only the beginning of the recovery process and is administered in a safe, confidential, clinical environment that ensures the very least amount of discomfort. Having an expertise in the detoxification from alcohol, opiates, and painkillers, we are also one of the only programs in Nevada with a methadone license, providing us a unique ability to deal with complicated cases. Mel Pohl, MD, FASAM, leads our committed and experienced medical team. Dr. Pohl is an addiction specialist with over twentyfive years’ experience in treating the disease of addiction. He is a board certified physician, a Fellow of

American Family Practice, and an accomplished author and lecturer. The knowledge and skill Dr. Pohl brings to LVRC ensure that the most current methodologies of treating withdrawal are used by our team, while addressing the specific needs of each client.

inpatient program After an extensive medical and psychological evaluation, our clients enter into the appropriate inpatient program designed specifically for that individual and his or her family. Our Senior Vice President of Clinical Services, Frank Szabo, LADC, has over twenty-two years combined personal and professional experience in recovery and addiction treatment. Claudia Black, Ph.D., Senior Clinical & Family Services Advisor, works with Mr. Szabo in leading our competent and professional treatment team in establishing a targeted program that includes specialized counseling, education, and researchbased best practices. We also offer enhanced recovery services such as physical therapy, Chi Kung, massage, yoga, and nutritional consultation. Clients who enter our program will acquire an understanding of the disease of addiction, learn skills necessary to effectively cope with life’s challenges and issues, recognize and avoid relapse triggers, and create a plan to stay on the road of recovery.

EXPLORE chronic pain Our Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program is expressly designed for those whose lives are so compromised by pain that they have been unable to manage without medication. After medically managed withdrawal, they enter into a program that includes education, physical therapy, and counseling, which will allow them to discover alternative ways to manage their pain without medication. Comprehensive Family Program Addiction is a family disease that not only incapacitates the individual who has addiction problems, but affects the family as well. Family members can begin their own recovery journey by attending our intensive four-day family educational program facilitated by the best professionals in the field of addiction. Weekly family support meetings are also offered. We know that having a family member enter treatment is extremely stressful, but we are here to assist you while your family member is in treatment and after he or she returns home.
