Team 3 request Were there any evaluations of military strikes against terrorists, particularly against Sudan and Afghanistan in 1998, and the 1993 strike against Iraqi intelligence organization? Documents on military operation plans against terrorists before 9-11 Documents on any military considerations for a response to the USS Cole and Khobar Towers Documents on potential military actions against Usama Bin Laden or Al Qa'ida (special operations, cruise missiles, etc) Documents reflecting efforts to develop capabilities to target Usama Bin Laden - were there any realizations the U.S. could not do this militarily Documents on range of military responses considered after the 1998 Embassy bombings Documents evidencing CT policy and military operations coordination between agencies. Based on Dan Marcus' format, discussion with him, and my knowledge from interviews the Other Agency Team of JIS conducted, I would suggest the following revision. A Suggestion only. File used by General Newbold to brief the Joint Inquiry Staff on military options The strategy referred to by General Newbold when interviewed by the Joint Inquiry Staff Military operation plans against terrorist targets before 9-11 - Response to the USS Cole and Khobar Towers attacks - Military action against Usama Bin Laden or Al Qa'ida - Development of capabilities to target Usama Bin Laden - Range of military responses considered after the 1998 Embassy bombings Evaluations of military strikes against terrorist targets, including but not limited to the strike against Sudan and Afghanistan in 1998, and the 1993 strike against Iraq.
