Discourses 301 – 350 301. Cycle of Deeds The human being is entangled in the cycle of deeds called as karma charka. The thought in the mind is the seed, which grows and generates action. The action certainly gives its result. Even if you escape the result of your action in this world you cannot escape from it in the upper world. In fact the result in the upper world is very severe due to the compounded interest due to the delay in getting the result. Therefore blessed are those who are punished in this world itself. Jesus says “It is better to punish yourself for your sin in this world itself than to fall into eternal hell”. The punishment reduces the thought (which caused the deed) to the state of a tiny seedling. However the punishment cannot destroy the thought completely. The thought exists in a very minute called the state of subconsciousness. Even you are not aware of your subconscious thought. When the soul comes from hell to the earth and enters a new human body, the child contains all the qualities or thoughts of previous births, hidden in the subconscious state. Therefore the child is unaware of anything and appears to be the most innocent and sacred. In the child the thoughts are like seeds that have not germinated. Whatever may be the external atmosphere in which the child grows, those strong thoughts will certainly germinate and grow up to be tender plants if not strong trees. But if the external atmosphere is favorable, the strong thoughts become trees, and weak thoughts will become plants. These germinated thoughts will result in corresponding actions. The actions will give their own fruits whether here or there. The fruits are the punishments, which will again reduce the thoughts to seeds. This is the cycle of the deeds. When it is said that you are enjoying the fruit of the action of your previous birth, it has to be understood in the context of this cycle. The action of your previous birth was punished in hell and has reduced your thought to the form of a seed. In this birth the seed grows and results in its corresponding action. Such action can give you its result in this world if you are captured here itself. The judicial system in this world also functions under the direction of the Lord only. If you have escaped the judicial system in this world, it too is by the will of Lord alone. The Lord might have judged your case and might have given you a chance of transformation. Sometimes you are punished wrongly in a case. Do not abuse the court or God. Perhaps you are punished for some other sin. Do not think that you have escaped a punishment that you deserve just because the courts find you ‘not guilty’. Perhaps God is directing you for a severe punishment in hell, which cannot be provided by the court here. Therefore do not think that you have fooled the court or that the deity of justice is blind with a cloth tied on her eyes. Even this court is functioning according to the will of the Lord because the Lord governs everybody and everything in this world. Therefore do not blame God or do not say that God does not exist if some criminal escapes punishment of human courts.

Destroying the Seed Now the main point is how to escape from this cycle? You cannot escape from this cycle by preventing the deed or punishment. If you are tied with a rope, you will not do the deed as long as you are tied. You will do the deed as soon as you are released from the rope. You may escape the result of your deed here by someone’s recommendations, but you cannot escape from it in hell. The only way to stop this cycle is to destroy the thought which is the initiating seed of this cycle. How to destroy it? The seed is a thought which is a living property (sentient property) or a property of life. If it were an inert property like light or heat, it could be prevented by physical methods. Only knowledge, which is another living property, can destroy this thought. Only a diamond can cut another diamond. The wrong knowledge, which generates this sin, is dangerous. Ignorance, which is zero, is better than wrong knowledge, which is minus (negative). Therefore only righteous knowledge can destroy wrong thoughts. You can differentiate the right knowledge from the wrong knowledge through careful, patient analysis and discrimination. The knowledge of God alone can create devotion in your mind and develop it. Thus by knowledge alone can you get rid of this cycle and attain and please God. Shankara says “Jnanat eva tu kaivalyam”, which means that knowledge alone can give salvation. Jesus preached the same spiritual knowledge throughout His life. The atheist is always rigid and does not accept God even if a miracle is performed by God physically. He will attribute it to hypnotism and magic. When Lord Krishna showed the vision of His cosmic form in the court, Duryodhana fell unconscious, but he attributed it to an illusion and hypnotism. Therefore a rigid foolish atheist can never be transformed and he shall be condemned forever like a student debarred by the university. One must have an open mind to recognize the truth and must have the courage to come out of one’s conservative rigid circle. The atheist blames the devotees regarding their foolish conservative limits, but he himself is trapped by such limits! For a wise person even a subtle experience in small incidents taking place in his life is sufficient proof to realize the existence of God. God is giving proof of His existence even in very small incidents that take place in every walk of your life. If you sit and analyze your past life with careful, shrewd analysis, you can see the existence of God at every step and how He is trying to help you always. Some say that God loves only His devotees and thus He is partial. This is meaningless. If all people in the world loved Him equally and if He still loved only a select few, then alone can it be called partiality. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 302. Perfectly Unimaginable God

From the beginning of the creation of this world, man was searching for God. Some people were satisfied by realizing the existence of God, which was experienced by them through some items of creation and through some important incidents in the life. They never claimed that they have detected God [known Him completely]. They had only analyzed the entire creation and found that no item of the creation is God. They declared that nobody could detect God [know His real nature]. Therefore, they concluded that God is unimaginable. But they said that God exists because they have experienced the existence of God through some items of creation, which are imaginable and through some incidents, which can be analyzed. The medium through which they experienced God can never be God. Therefore, God was unimaginable for them. This is the correct approach to God. But some egoistic people, who were very confident of their intelligence, analyzed and declared that they detected the real nature of God. They said that the real nature of God is awareness. They mean that awareness is God Himself. In saying so, they have claimed to have imagined God and for them, who are highly intellectual, God is imaginable [even though most people may not be able to imagine Him as awareness]. But in reality, they were either egoistic in claiming to have detected the real form of God or they were impatient to accept the unimaginable God. The so-called awareness discovered by these people can never be God because awareness is not a completely unimaginable item. Of course, one has to take lot of pains in imagining the pure awareness, which is very very near to the unimaginable God. The item, which is imagined by a lot of analysis and lot of difficulty, can only be an item imaginable with great difficulty. It can be treated as almost unimaginable but it cannot be the perfectly unimaginable God. Several statements of the Veda clearly declare that God is completely unimaginable under all circumstances. Silence alone can indicate God. Silence means that no word can be used to indicate God. In the creation every imaginable item has a specific name, which cannot be used for any other imaginable item. For example the word pot means only a particular object. The word cloth means another particular object. You cannot use one word for any other object. But God can enter any item of the creation. Therefore, the name of every item can be used to indicate God, since there is no specific word for God, who is not a specific object at all. Even if God does not enter an item, the name of that item can be used to indicate God, because you are keeping that item as a representative of God. For example God never enters an inert planet like the sun. But the sun can still represent God due to some similarities. God removes ignorance. The sun removes darkness. The lotus buds are opened by sun. The ignorant intelligence is also enlightened by God. Therefore, the sun can represent God to some extent. Therefore, the word ‘sun’ can also represent God. Thus, in one extreme end, no word can indicate God (Yato vachah-Veda). At the other extreme end, the name of any item into which God can enter, or any item which can represent God, can be used to indicate God. All the prayers to God such as the prayer of the thousand names (Sahasra Nama), indicate God. When a word indicates God, it is the name of the medium into which either God has entered or which stands as a representative of God. This means you can experience God through a specific medium

when God enters it. Alternatively, you can also imagine the experience of the existence of God through a representative item like the sun. You can experience the existence of God through a human incarnation like Lord Krishna, because God has entered and exists in the human body of Krishna. In case of the sun, you can imagine the existence of God through the properties of the sun. Thus, there is a difference between the worship of the human incarnation and the worship of the representative item like the sun, statue etc. The Veda says that you can worship the sun as God, which means that sun is not directly God (Adityam Brahma iti…Veda). There is a difference between the direct worship of the king and the indirect worship of his photograph. In both cases the king is pleased. But in the direct worship, the king is extremely pleased because every bit of your service is experienced by the king directly. When God enters the human body, God has not become the human body. God is in the human body. Therefore, the human body is not God. You can only experience God through the human body. Therefore, by seeing the human body of the incarnation, you have not seen God, but you have only experienced God through that human body. Therefore, God is invisible. Of course, a devotee can be satisfied by treating the human body as God and can feel satisfied that he has seen God. From this angle the Veda says, “A blessed fellow has seen God” (Kaschit Dhirah…). This is only an assumption. You can assume an electric wire as the electric current because you experience the current by touching the wire anywhere. Therefore, for all practical purposes the electric wire is the current. Thus, there is a very narrow delicate margin between the reality and assumption in this case. To solve this very delicate difference, you can say that the wire is the current from the point of experience of the existence of current and thus this assumption is perfectly correct. But if you say that you have actually seen the electric current, we must say that you have seen only the wire and not the current because the current is invisible. Therefore, the conclusion is that you can experience the existence of the current through the wire but you cannot see the current actually. Thus, God’s existence is experienced through the human incarnation but God is not imagined. The the Gita says that nobody knows God (Mamtu Veda Nakaschana…). This verse establishes the complete unimaginability of God. Again the Gita says that one blessed devotee in millions, can experience the existence God (Kaschit mam…). These two verses will contradict with each other if you say that the first verse means that nobody knows God and the second verse means that one knows God. The first verse means that the real nature or form of God cannot be known. The second verse means that the existence of God can be known. The Veda also presents these two sides. Several Vedic statements reveal that God is completely unimaginable and can never be known. In the Veda, Lord Yama says that they (great sages) have come to know that God cannot be known (yasyamatam tasyamatam). This statement indicates the point that God is completely unimaginable. The Veda again says that only the existence of God can be known (Astiityevopalabdhavyah). This statement does not contradict the first statement.

Thus, the Veda and the Gita are exactly synchronized in this context. Awareness is indicated by the words like Atman (soul) or ‘I’. Advaita scholars feel that [by detecting the Atman] they have detected the real nature or form of God, which is the awareness. No doubt, awareness is almost an unimaginable item. But it does not mean that awareness is completely unimaginable. Of course, if you cross the awareness, nothing further is known. Awareness is in the climax position of the entire creation. It is the greatest of all the items of creation and therefore it is called as Brahman. It is the greatest among all the imaginable items. These scholars say that awareness is unimaginable to the majority of people. Therefore, they say that God is unimaginable with respect to the majority, who are ignorant. [They equate God to this Awareness]. Since scholars are in minority, only scholars can know the real form of God. This is their interpretation of the above two statements in the Veda and the Gita. They do not stop here. They go one step further and say that since awareness is in every human being. If anybody knows and identifies himself with the pure awareness present in his body, he becomes God because God is pure awareness. To support this idea, they quote the Veda which says that the knower of Brahman becomes Brahman (Brahma vit Brahmaiva bhavati). They also quote the Gita that the knower is God (Jnani Tvatmaiva…). The actual meaning of this Vedic statement is that God alone is the knower of God. The scholars reverse this and say that the knower of God becomes God. Their reverse meaning contradicts the Gita, which says that nobody can know God. The the Gita says that the knower is Atman, but it does not mean that the knower is God. This is because Atman is not God. This statement of the Gita only means that by self-realization one can become the Self or Atman. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 303. Necessity of Logic All the arguments of the Advaita scholars are perfectly correct except for one small point: that awareness or Atman is not God as they claim. Awareness is not known to the majority and therefore the soul is unimaginable to the majority. The soul is certainly known to the minority who are very sharp scholars. The Veda says that Atman is known only to sharp scholars and the Veda does not say that Atman is God in this context. The Veda says here that Atman is embedded in the human being secretly (Drushyatetvagraya…, Atma guhayam…). Awareness requires the existence of two items. One is the inert energy that is obtained from the digestion of food (Annat Purashah— Veda). The second is the nervous system, which alone can convert this inert energy in to awareness on functioning. Thus, awareness is dependent on these two items but God is independent and does not depend on any other item. Thus, the scholars who argue only based on the scriptures can also be answered about this concept based on the scriptures and logic (Tarka Shastra).

Matter (food) is converted into energy and awareness is a form of energy. Thus, matter and awareness are interconvertible. When a human being called ‘Ahalya’ was converted into an inert statue and again when the statue was converted into a human being, this interconversion is proved. When Ahalya became a stone, her soul did not go to the upper world. It remained there itself. Awareness is an item of creation and therefore exactly duplicate souls were created by Lord Krishna when some souls were stolen by Prajapati. All these points clearly show that awareness is a conversion of inert matter and a form of inert energy; it is only an item of creation. If one accepts science, it is very easy to prove that awareness is a special form of inert energy flowing through the nervous system while functioning. A robot is just a duplicate of a human being. The current flowing in the wires is the awareness flowing in the nervous system. The information stored in the chip is exactly the information stored in the brain. The brain is a system of several microprocessors working simultaneously, which grasps all the information regarding an object in one instance. You can treat the brain as a CD [or hard disk] in which information is stored in the form of written impressions on matter or you can treat brain as the RAM (of the computer) in which the information is stored in the form of pulses of electromagnetic energy. This does not make any difference from a spiritual point of view. It is a topic of science. Even in science a physicist does not differentiate between matter and energy. Thus, using science it is clearly proved that awareness is only inert energy which on functioning through the nervous system, gets converted to a specific form by doing a specific form of work. In fact, awareness is a form of special work done by the inert energy. Since, work is also a form of energy, all these classifications come under the topic of science alone and have no spiritual significance. But science clearly analyses every item, which is not God and helps us realize that no item in creation is God. Science analyses every item of creation and with the help of such analysis we can know that no item of creation is God. Science cannot show what God is but it can clearly show what God is not. There is no item in creation, which cannot be analyzed by science. Therefore, no item of the creation is God. Even the so-called philosophy has not shown God. It too has only shown what God is not. The Veda says that the sages, who were the greatest philosophers, rejected every item of creation as not God (Neti Neti...). They have concluded that God is beyond words, mind, intelligence, logic and even any type of imagination. Thus, both philosophy and science fail to give any positive information about God. Thus, you should not reject both philosophy and science because even if they have not shown God, at least they have shown that no item in the creation is God. Thus, these two have helped us by preventing us from being under the illusion that some item like awareness, which is almost unimaginable, is God. At least science and philosophy could protect us from taking this wrong route. Therefore, every spiritual seeker should develop a sharp analytical faculty of logic, which means he has to study science. In fact, any student of philosophy (Vedanta) is supposed to learn logic (Tarka Shastra). It is just like a student of physics must learn mathematics. Some people are misleading

devotees by saying that since God is beyond logic, logic should not be used. This is a very dangerous statement. This means that you should leave logic and blindly follow whatever nonsense is preached by such people. Even though logic may not help in finding the real nature of God, it will at least help in identifying and rejecting the nonsense, which is all items other than God. Thus logic prevents you from falling into the trap of such nonsense. You should have the weapon of logic in your hands so that you are not misled into the wrong path, even though logic does not show you the right path. Therefore, all the Acharyas like Shankara, Ramanuja and Madhva were great scholars of logic. All their commentaries dealt with the items, which are not God. Through powerful logic they eliminated the wrong routes and wrong items that are claimed to be God. Only by this analysis could they indirectly establish that God is completely unimaginable and that He is beyond logic. The Gita says that the Brahma Sutras with their logic can only draw conclusions (Brahma Sutra Padaischaiva…). Even in the Bible, whatever Jesus spoke was very logical and He rejected the wrong interpretations of the priests through powerful logic. Therefore, at least for this purpose, logic is useful. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 304. Criticizing other Religions The Lord is universal but the human beings in the universe differ in their attitudes. The same single Lord adopts a different procedure in a different region and such different procedure appears as a different religion. A few criticize the Lord of other religion. You are criticizing your own Lord of your own religion. The external behavior of the Lord differs due to different internal and external behaviors of the human beings in this universe. The external form, dress, language, food habits and culture of human beings differ from one region to the other. Accordingly the external form, dress, food habits, language and culture of the Lord also differ to suit that particular region. The internal Lord and the internal essence of the same Lord is one and the same in His different human incarnations which have come in different regions or religions. At The Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 305. Understanding God God has no beginning and no end because God is unimaginable. The beginning and the end must be also unimaginable for an unimaginable item. The beginning and the end of the cosmic energy or space or the creation are also unimaginable. Therefore, the beginning and the end are unimaginable for the unimaginable item like God and also for the imaginable item like space. Therefore, the two points, which are the beginning-less and end-less characteristics cannot help you in understanding the real nature of God. If

you start recognizing the God by simply these two points (beginning-less and end-less), you may think that God is an imaginable item like the space or energy or the creation. In fact based on these two characteristics people have imagined God as an imaginable item like space or energy or creation. This concept has misled people to such a low level that people think that God is the very infinite space or infinite energy or infinite creation. Therefore, one should filter the concept of God at this juncture itself. One should think that God has no beginning and no end because the beginning and the end of an unimaginable item are also unimaginable. Such God desired to create this Universe for entertainment. The very desire itself is the Creation. In view of God this present materialized universe in only an idea or imagination or the very desire itself. Therefore, the desire to create the world is itself the desire and also the created world itself is a desire. Thus the creation, maintenance and dissolution of the imaginary world are also imaginations or desires. A part of this infinite creation is the individual soul. The soul is like a drop of the infinite ocean of imagination or desire of God. Thus, quantitatively the entire ocean of imagination of God is very huge compared to the tiny soul. Remember that both the Universe and the tiny soul are made of the same substance called as imagination or desire. Thus the force of the Universe is far greater than the force of the soul. Due to such huge quantitative difference of the same phase, the Universe, which is far stronger than the soul appears as a materialized entity for the soul. But this infinite ocean of desire, which is the infinite Universe is a tiny drop compared to the infinite force of God. Therefore, again due to the same quantitative difference of force the entire universe is just the very weak imagination from the view of God. Thus imagination and materialization exist simultaneously true from the point of God and soul. For the sake of entertainment, God desired to create the Universe. This statement is in Veda (Sa dviteeya Maicchat). In this statement there is a very subtle intermediate stage, which is the essence of the desire to create the Universe. The desire to create the world is like the golden ornament but the essence of such desire is like the raw gold in which the ornament is not yet expressed. Such raw essence of the desire is pure awareness. The pure awareness is a special subtle form of energy, which is not qualified by any form. Such pure awareness is called as the spirit, which is not qualified and does not have any attribute. This is called as “Nirguna Brahman”, which means the pure awareness, which has no reference to the creation of the universe. It is a very critical and subtle point to recognize the pure awareness. Veda says that only very very sharp intelligence can grasp that critical state (Drushyate Tvagraya bhuddhya). Sankara, the topmost genius among the spiritual preachers could grasp that state and proposed the concept of Nirguna Brahman or non-qualified pure awareness. Such pure awareness is the first creation of God (Parabrahman). This first creation is almost as critical and unimaginable as the very Parabrahman itself. The only difference is that Parabrahman is absolutely unimaginable for any sharp intelligence, but this pure awareness is imaginable only for a very sharp intelligence. This pure awareness is called as Mula Prakriti or Suddha Sattvam or Mula Avidya or Mula Maya or the Spirit in general. The Parabrahman maintains such spirit and it is only an associated item and is the first created item. The word Mula means the first. This spirit is in the form of knowledge. It is aware of itself, which means that it is

knowledge. Knowledge requires both subjective and objective characteristics. It is subject as well as the object. Therefore, it is called as knowledge or Sattvam. This knowledge is the first form of energy. Energy is always active. Action is the characteristic of Rajas. Such Spirit is unaware of its own creator who is the God. Therefore, it is having ignorance or Tamas. Thus, the Knowledge itself is action and ignorance. According to Gita Knowledge is Sattvam (Sattvaat Sanjayate Jnanam), action is Rajas (Rajah Karmani) and Ignorance is Tamas (Tamastva Jnanajam). Thus these three qualities are always inseparable. The pure knowledge (Suddha Sattvam) itself is pure action (Suddha Rajas), which is the pure ignorance (Suddha Tamas). Thus in the very first instant itself the three qualities are created simultaneously in the purest state. Since all these three co-exist, it is called as equilibrium of the three qualities. When the equilibrium is disturbed various items of awareness result in which the three qualities exist in various proportions. Such disturbance of the equilibrium resulting in various distorted items of the three qualities is the very creation. The various mixtures of these three qualities constitute this diversified universe, which is meant for the play of the God and for His entertainment. When the entertainment is over all the three qualities go into the equilibrium state. Thus the Universe is converted into Mula Prakruti. God is in association with this Mula Prakruti in the beginning. At this stage the Mula Prakruti is only a creation or created item and cannot do anything further. Its equilibrium continues. In fact the Mula Prakruti is only inert and the continuation of such equilibrium is the inertia. God enters the Mula Prakruti and pervades it. Now this Mula Prakruti is electrified wire. It is the ignited stick and is called as fire. Now this Mula Prakruti becomes divine and is called as Brahman or the Holy Spirit. The Spirit, which is just the inert created item became Holy due to the existence of God in it. Now Brahman multiplies its little part of the Mula Prakruti in which, Parabrahman does not exist. This means that God enters ninety nine percent of Mula Prakruti and not one percent. This little part of un-divine Mula Prakruti is multiplied by the disturbed equilibrium and the Universe appears. Thus, the pure awareness in which God pervaded becomes Brahman. Now Brahman becomes the spectator of the Universe. The little pure awareness into which God did not enter is modified into the Universe in which God does not exist. Here the modification does not mean materialization. The modification means the undisturbed equilibrium being converted into disturbed equilibrium. In both the states the substance is only awareness. You can compare this to a day-dreamer’s mind. The mind of the daydreamer is Mula Prakruti. A little part of the mind is converted into dream. The mind, which is not converted, is a spectator of the dream. The dreamer is identified with the spectator part of the mind. Thus the dreamer is witnessing the dream through his unmodified mind. The dreamer has not entered the dream and therefore is not multiplied. When the dream city is burning neither the spectator part of the mind is burnt nor the dreamer. The spectator part of the mind itself can be treated as the dreamer because the dreamer entered that spectator part of the mind and exists in it. Thus, Brahman, the spectator of the Universe can be treated as Parabrahman. Such Parabrahman who is the spectator of the Universe is called as Eeshwara. Thus, Parabrahman is the original

unimaginable creator. Mula Prakrithi is the first created item, which is the pure awareness. Brahman is the major part of pure awareness in which Parabrahman entered and occupied it. The same Brahman enjoying the Universe by vision is called as Eeshwara. Neither Parabrahman nor Brahman nor the Eeswara has entered the Universe, which is the disturbed equilibrium of the three qualities. Thus, there is no disturbance in either Parabrahman or Brahman or Eeshwara. In Christianity God is Parabrahman. Brahman and Eeshwara are called as the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is the substance with which the Universe is made of. The spirit is not Holy because God did not occupy it. Thus the Universe is not Holy in Toto. It is Holy with reference to the good devotees and the divine incarnations. It is unholy with reference to bad living beings and Saturn. Parabrahman who is a spectator for sometime develops a desire to enter this Universe in the form of a living being especially as a human being because the main aim is to preach the divine knowledge. Veda says the same (Tadevaanu Praavishat). This divine human being in which, Parabrahman or Brahman or Eeshwara exists is called as human incarnation or God in Flesh. The human incarnation consists of four items. The first item is God. The second item is the Mula Prakruti, which is the pure awareness or Brahman or Aatman or Karana Sareeram (Casual Body). The third item is the disturbed equilibrium of the three qualities called as Jeeva or Sukshma Sareera (Subtle Body). The fourth item is the Gross body made of five elements (Sthula Sareera) which is again imaginary only in view of God but a materialized form in view of other human beings. If you analyse any ordinary living being it contains all the three bodies except God. If we analyse any inert item of the world it contains only the Gross Body made of the five elements. God should be understood as the unimaginable creator. Next God can be understood as the unimaginable spectator of the world. Lastly, God should be understood as the unimaginable actor who has entered the Universal Drama in the form of Human Incarnation. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 306. Devotion The relationship of the devotee with the Lord is called devotion. Devotion is love for he Lord. Love is proved by service or seva. Claims of love without service are fraudulent. Praying, meditation, intellectual discussions, words, feelings or singing hymns does not substantiate devotion. If a husband loves his wife then he must serve her when she is ill. If he just sits by her side with his eyes closed or meditates upon her or chants her name aloud, while refusing to practically serve her by giving her medicine, food and drink, then he is only making a show of love; he does not really love her. The one who really loves her will serve her. The Lord is pleased only with total devotion. The Gita says “eka bhakti? visi?yate”. He wants the devotee to love Him alone; not anyone or anything else. Nobody or nothing should be equal to Him. He will make the devotee reach this stage of devotion. This is the

essence of all the datta parik?a or the tests of the Lord. The devotee will be tested severely till he breaks all bonds with everyone and everything in the world, till only the bond with the Lord remains. The Lord does not compromise in this aspect. He will not tolerate even a drop of the devotee's attachment to anything or anyone in the world. Lord Krishna tested Radha very severely. She was His beloved in v?ndavanam. When the Lord left v?ndavanam he left her behind. Not only that but He even married other women. He offered protection to sixteen thousand women. He never returned to v?ndavanam to Radha. He never inquired about her. He never even saw her face again. Such was the severity of His test. His intention was to see if Radha would get jealous. The weakness of a woman is her lover. No woman can tolerate any other women around her lover. Radha, who was the Lord's beloved, for many years in v?ndavanam had all the reason to get jealous of the wives of Lord Krishna. Yet her love was pure. It was free of expectation. She never once gave in to jealousy. She was ever full of love for Him. She would constantly imagine herself falling at the feet of the Lord. She died pining for Him. The Lord was extremely pleased with her and gave her his eternal companionship in the uppermost world. The Lord tested Hanuman in the aspect of egotism. He gave Hanuman ample opportunity to develop egotism. Lord Rama never displayed any special powers to prove that He was the Lord. Hanuman himself had a lot of super powers and had to use them more than Lord Rama. The Lord also made sure that Hanuman was compelled to use those powers to save Him. He made Hanuman save Lakshmana's life by lifting the dro?agiri mountain in order to obtain the life-saving sañjivani herb. When Lord Rama and Lakshmana, both were knocked unconscious by the powerful demon, indrajit, Hanuman had to fly to the heavens and bring garuda the Divine Eagle, in order to save them. Thus the Lord made it appear that it was Hanuman, who was never incapacitated in the war while the Lord Himself was. It was Hanuman who had to rescue the Lord. It was Hanuman who displayed super powers and not the Lord. It would appear to a common observer that Hanuman was the Lord and not Lord Rama. However Hanuman's devotion was sublime. He did not fall pray to egotism. He understood fully well that Lord Rama was the Lord and that He was only testing him. He therefore said “daso'ha? kosalendrasya; “I am the servant of the Lord.” At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness Sri Dattaswami 307. One Can Only Experience The Lord Through The Medium In the Gita it is told that nobody knows the Lord (Mam tu veda na kaschana…). The Veda also says that Brahman alone knows Brahman. Again the Veda says that the final knowledge of Brahman is that it can never be known. But again in the Gita it is said “Kaschit Mam vetti tattvatah”, which means that one in millions knows the reality of the Lord. Both these verses look contradictory to each other. The contradiction is removed if you take the meaning of the second verse like this: One knows finally that the Lord can

never be known. People think that they know the Lord. But only one in millions realizes that the Lord can never be known. The meaning of the second verse indicates that one in millions understands the reality of the Lord, which means the human incarnation. The Lord is always unknown and therefore, the Lord is hidden in the human form. The Lord uses that medium to preach the divine knowledge. Therefore, He enters the human body and pervades all over it. The container always reflects the nature of the contained material. The wire gives a shock like the electric current present in it. Therefore the Lord is experienced. One can only experience the Lord through the medium but the real nature of the Lord can never be understood. The priests in a temple say that they have invoked the Lord in a statue by reciting some hymns. They also say that they have expelled the Lord from the statue by reciting some other hymns. The fact is that they cannot even bring the life [of a person], which is a creation of God, into a dead body by reciting hymns. How can they bring the Creator Himself into a statue by hymns? Similarly, they cannot expel the life from a living body by reciting hymns. How can they expel the Creator? The priests pretend to invoke the Lord into the statue for doing some business with you. As soon as the business is over, they again pretend to expel the Lord from it. Thus the Lord is used and exploited for earning money and respect from you. The statue may belong to some past human incarnation like Rama, Krishna etc. If the real human incarnation exists in the place of statue, the priests can do no business with you. The human form of the Lord will Himself eat whatever you offer and will take away your Guru Dakshina. Therefore, the concept of human incarnation can be accepted, but not the concept of living human incarnation in the present human generation. The priests fear that their entire business may be lost. Therefore, in the Kali Yuga (present dark age of materialism) they have eliminated the possibility of the coming of a human incarnation of God up to the last day of destruction. In the Kali Yuga, Buddha was rejected as a human form of Lord because Buddha is seen as an atheist. The only human incarnation in Kali Yuga that the priests accept is Kalki, who will not come up to the last day of Kali Yuga. Thus throughout the Kali Yuga their business goes on undisturbed. The priests or scholars can get Guru Dakshina and fame as devotees of God and that would be fair since the devotee is next to the human incarnation. In fact the Lord is more pleased if you worship His devotees. Thus the priests and scholars can get Guru Dakshina and respect directly since they are devotees. This indirect business of showing the statue and claiming the offerings of people is cheating in the name of the Lord. The priests and scholars fear that you will give maximum respect and Guru Dakshina to the Lord alone. Therefore, they show you the Lord through a statue and want to earn the money to the maximum possible extent. The priests may revolt against Me as they did towards Jesus. But if they can analyze themselves, this is the fire, which indicates the true knowledge. It is told that Jesus would sprinkle fire and not water (He would baptize with fire). If you hide the truth and support the worship of statues it will be like sprinkling cold water. But if you conclude that the statue indicates the present human incarnation, such knowledge

is like the sprinkling of fire. All the statues are of human form alone. It is very difficult even to think of the formless God. Therefore, certain forms in the nature like the sun, mountains etc., were worshipped. Afterwards regular forms like statues came to stand for past human incarnations. But all these statues indicate that you should worship the present human form of the Lord who is the Sadguru. Shankara, brought the devotees from the field of inert objects into the field of living beings. It is better to think that all the living beings are God than to think that inert objects are God. Something is better than nothing. The final stage shall be to show the Lord existing in a particular human form. God is in human form and this does not mean that all human forms are God. All ores are minerals but all minerals are not ores. Shankara Himself was that divine human incarnation. When He revealed the final truth, He was killed by Kapalikas at the age of 32 years. Similarly, Jesus was killed at the age of 32 years since He finally declared that He and His Father are one and the same, and criticized the priests for exploiting the people in the name of God. You can never think of the original form of God. The moment you think about God you have perceived God hidden in the form of awareness. Any thought of God is only the awareness-incarnation of God. Therefore, you can receive God only as an incarnation. When God appears hidden in the energetic body (energetic incarnation), it is treated as divine vision. Lord Krishna appeared so in exhibiting Viswarupam. Jesus also appeared in energetic body on a hill while He was alive in the human form. This shows that there is no difference between the incarnations of God whether it is the awareness-incarnation, a space-incarnation, an energy-incarnation or a human incarnation. The awareness, space, energy or human body is only an item of the creation. You can only perceive the Creator through a medium within creation. The human form is the best medium for human beings, since in this medium He clarifies all the doubts and gives the light of the divine knowledge. Even a layman experiences the current by its shock but he can never understand the real nature of electricity. Such experience is possible only through the medium into which the Lord enters by His will. You cannot force the Lord to enter into every object that you like. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 308. God in Human Form is The Source of Divine Knowledge Unless God is available through human incarnation in the present generation no one will get the true divine knowledge; the knowledge about Him. God is not speaking to you from heaven, and no statue speak the knowledge. After doing long penance one may get vision of body of light of God for very short time. During that time, Lord is not preaching anything. Thus the Lord who come in human form in every generation is the very source of divine knowledge. When water is available in plenty what is the need of interacting hydrogen and oxygen to produce water? When God is giving His presence and knowledge through human incarnation why can we utilize it and learn the knowledge?

Only through service to Lord we can please Him. Human incarnation is the correct place of God. By serving the Lord in human form we are serving the unimaginable incomprehensible God. Service involves sacrifice in His mission of divine knowledge propagation in terms of our work and the fruit of our work. God come in human form in every human generation to preach and uplift the humanity. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 309. Only Through Practical Sacrifice One Can Please Lord You love your wife children and parents, and how you are showing the love to them, not offcourse by words or prayers. You never do prayers and meditation on them? We prove our love in action. Even though our children retaliate negatively also, we suffer and still love them. This is the true Love. A true love is without any expectation. Lord like the loving service He loves His real devotees like anything. Lord is fed up with devotees who approach Him only for their selfish needs. Love to Lord should not be in words alone, it should be practially proved. God never insist that, but due to our love to Him a true devotee can never resist himself serving the Lord when He comes in human form. You serve your child without he ask anything from you. Thus Lord never want our service, it is for our sake only He is allowing us to serve Him. Remember that Lady who applied scent on then human incarnation Jesus. She identified the Lord hidden in the human body of Jesus and loved Him by practially serving Him by applying the scents. Jesus never refused such service, He know that out of pure love towards the God she is doing so. Some of the disciples critisised Jesus also. Through the love that she has shown practically, she got the grace of Lord and several of her sins were forgiven, thus she is benifited not Lord. It is for our benifit only He allows us to serve Him, and it ultimately leads to our salvation. Only through practical sacrifice one can please Lord in human form available in the present generation. Human incarnation is the correct place of God. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 310. Selecting the Form of God You analyse the bond with wife and the bond with the son. You are loving your wife for your happiness only as said in Veda( Atmanah kamaya…). If the wife troubles the husband, husband leaves wife by taking the divorce. The same bond exists from the side of wife also towards the husband. Therefore, this bond is for self-bliss. The wife or husband is an instrument to attain self-bliss. The wife or husband does not love the other

for the sake of other’s happiness. Similarly the people of Pravrutti love God for their selfish bliss. If you take the bond to the son, the father or mother works hard for the happiness of their son. In this case the bond with the son is for the bliss of the son and not for the self-bliss. Similarly, the devotees in Nivrutti love God to please Him and not for any self-bliss. Therefore, you treat God in the place of your son and then this spiritual knowledge becomes practically possible. When you are searching for an ideal wife and seeing several matches, you should use your brain to analyse and select the best girl as your wife. While attending the matches, you should not open your blissful heart with every girl. Before selection, take time and have all the patience and use your brain and logic in evaluating the qualities of every girl. When you have decided the best girl, then you should close your brain and open your blissful heart. If your love is real on your wife, you will not aspire for self -bliss and you will do anything to please her. Similarly in selecting the form of God (some say that God is formless, some say that God is your self, some say that God is in form of statues, some say that God is in the form of natural items like sun, some say that God is in a particular human form etc.,) you should use your brain and logic and take the help of the divine knowledge. Then to select the path also to please God, you should use the divine knowledge (some say prayers, some say meditation, some say self analysis, some say sacrifice of work, some say sacrifice of fruit of work etc.,). Now you should open your blissful heart before God. Here also your aim must be to please the God and not your self-bliss. When you are traveling to reach a town, you must use your brain and logic. Otherwise, if you use your blissful heart and follow an attractive wrong path, you will not reach your destiny. After reaching your house, you can open your blissful heart before your family members. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 311. Direction from God The direction from God is always true. But then how to approach formless God? If you ask God, He will not reply from the sky. If you approach God in form, it must be human being only because only human form can reply. But in which human form God is present? God is present in a particular human form. Even some human beings in which, God is not present are also stating that they are God. The actual human incarnation some times is keeping silent, some times says that He is God and some times says that He is not God. Arjuna asked Krishna for direction. But Krishna may be or may not be God. Therefore, even though Krishna is preaching about the direction, Arjuna did not believe blindly. He asked questions at every stage and analysed the direction given by Krishna. Taking benefit of doubt, he considered Krishna as a human being only and discussed with Him at length and in depth. Even after seeing the vision of Viswaroopam, he continued the discussions for a long time. This means he did not give any value to vision. Even demons can give visions. Ravana showed a vision to Rama in which he appeared killing Sita. Rama believed and wept and wanted to stop the war. But Vibhishana told

Him that the vision is false and is created by the demon Ravana. Therefore, one should not decide based on the visions seen by eyes. Saturn showed a vision to Jesus in which he showed the entire world offering to Jesus. One should not believe the mind with emotion. Some times the mind is also affected by the tricks of Saturn. When Rama went to catch the golden deer Sita heard the voice of Rama crying for help. Sita decided that Rama was in danger. But Lakshmana gave the argument that Rama can never be in danger. Finally Sita was proved wrong and Lakshmana was correct. Therefore, emotional mind will mislead but not the logical and analytical knowledge of the brain. Hanuman thought of committing suicide when Sita was not found in Lanka. But He analysed and dropped the idea. Therefore, logical and analytical knowledge and discussion can alone give the correct direction. In the beginning of Gita, Krishna told “Dadami Buddhiyogam Te……” which means that only by logical analysis of brain, God can be achieved. After achieving God, logic must be closed and the heart must be opened. Sankra also told “Jnanaadeva Tu Kaivalyam….” which means that only through divine knowledge one can achieve God. After achieving God, devotion and service will come. One cannot achieve God through devotion, because unless you recognise the correct form of God, how can you devote yourself to that form? You must select one girl through analysis and fix her as wife and then only love her and serve her. How can you fix the best girl without analysis? At the time of Jesus priests were there who always think that old is gold and past is the last word. They hate the present. They have no logic. When they arrested Jesus, there were no proper discussions and logical analysis about His case. When there were no logical discussions, He was crucified based on simple emotional slogans. His death was not justified and therefore He rose and walked out. When the soldier was leaving finally, he pierced the stomach of Jesus with his weapon. Then blood came out. Blood will not come out from dead body. Jesus was alive and He was brought down by His disciples. Then He was kept in the cave. He knew the protection of His life. He walked into India and met the king Salivahana and talked with him. His conversation was recorded in “Bhavishaya Purana” of Vyasa. This scripture speaks about the future. Vyasa wrote this long back. The verse in scripture is “Esa Putram Cha Mam Viddhi, Kumari Garbha Sambhavam, Mlechcha Dharmasya Vaktaram…..”, which means “I am the son of the father of heaven. I was born to unmarried girl. I preached spirituality to Muslims”. Thus spoke Jesus to Salivahana. He stayed in India till He attained the age of eighty-five years and died in Kashmir. You can find the buried tomb of Jesus there even today. On the tomb it is written “Jesus” in Hebrew language. Jesus disappeared from home at the age of 16 years. He returned at the age of 30 years. He was crucified in 32nd year. From 16th year He was in Himalayas in the association of several sages. He was a good Sanskrit scholar. He studied all the Hindu philosophy and this is the reason why the Christian and Hindu philosophies are almost similar in concepts. Krishna told that He is God. Jesus told that He and His Father are one and the same. Krishna told that He would come whenever there is necessity. Jesus told that He would come again. Krishna told that He is the only ultimate goal. Jesus told that one could attain God through Him only. All these are same concepts.

There is difference between God in human form and human being posing as God. To differentiate both, analysis is essential like in the separation of original diamond from artificial diamond. Once you select the original diamond, no need of further analysis and you can kiss and love the diamond. Krishna was God in human form and Paundraka Vasudeva was human being posing as God. Krishna told Bhagavat Gita and the latter could not preach any knowledge. Except this difference, external dress and doing miracles were common in both. The priests believed the dead messengers and did not believe the then alive messenger. Jesus told, “ Let the dead bury dead”. This means the priests were dead because they always lived in the past and never in the present. Those who live in past are dead and those who live in the present are alive. This means that the dead priests will attend the dead messengers and the living disciples will attend the present living messenger. When Jesus told that He would come again, that means the human incarnation will come again for every next generation. Therefore, Christianity believes in the human incarnation that comes every time as in Hinduism. There is no difference between the two philosophies. The human incarnations of all the religions tell always the same point. The followers do not take the right interpretation and mock the other religion. The Christians criticize Krishna and Mohammed for killing the evil people. They say that Jesus changed all the evil people also through love. Then why the people crucified Him? Why they did not change by His love? Why Christianity suggests the permanent hell for sinners after enquiry? If love can change every body, there should not be hell at all! Jesus told that it is better to punish yourself instead of falling into hell permanently. Therefore, he was indicating the punishment and hell. He is never against the punishment of evil people. The L.K.G. students cannot be controlled by speech like college students. They need a strong cane for discipline. The followers always misinterpret their original preachers. Krishna tried His best to change Kauravas but as a last resort only, He punished them. Similarly, Mohammed fought as last resort only. In fact Mohammed was the incarnation “ Kalki” who killed evil people with a sword riding on the horse. Krishna is Buddha while preaching Gita. He was Jesus when He showed kindness on Sudama and Draupadi. He was Mohammad in killing the demons. For protecting the good people (Pandavas) and for punishing Kauravas, He was cursed by Gandhari because of which, He died by the arrow shot on His foot. This is crucification only for the sake of good people like Pandavas. Both died shedding the blood. He took the punishment on Him to protect the real devotees like Pandavas. Krishna and Jesus were born in the similar situations. Devil people killed the children born on their birth dates. Krishna left Brindavanam when He was 16 year old. Similarly Jesus. Krishna met Gopikas again on the seashore at His age of 30 years. Similarly Jesus returned to home at the same age. Jesus quoted several scriptures of Hinduism, which were filtered from the Bible. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 312. Sacrifice of everybody and everything Is the total sacrifice

Sacrifice of everybody and everything is the total sacrifice in which sacrifice of justice becomes a part only, just to prove that God is greater than even the justice. Gopikas stand for total sacrifice in which leaving justice is a part of total sacrifice. They are not the prostitutes who can easily sacrifice justice for the sake of few rupees for anybody in the world. No need of the greatest God! This is the essence of Bhagavata. It should be understood carefully. Krishna said “Leave all justice”. If you stop here, it is very easy because following justice involves lot of inconvenience. You must take the next line said by Krishna in the same verse, “Surrender to Me alone”, Which is the total sacrifice. The verse totally means sacrifice of justice also during the total sacrifice done for the sake of God. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 313. Even worst, serving Me alone must be treated as Good In Kali Yuga to preach that even bad qualities towards God become sacred, Gita says – “Even worst, serving Me alone Must be treated as Good” – A message for down trodden. Exceptional are Dharma Raja and the sages born as Gopikas. The sages were authors of Dharma Shastras, scriptures of ethics. In their case sacrifice of justice is most difficult. Justice–bond is the strongest bond in them only. In the case of common people this bond is weakest. Everybody is ready to sacrifice justice. Even in Pravrutti they sacrifice justice for the sake of families. A prostitute easily sacrifices her husband just for a few rupees! Therefore, for common society this point does not hold good. Especially, if you isolate justice from all the bonds of the soul, salvation becomes very easy since sacrifice is very convenient. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 314. Gopikas were saints who asked Lord for liberation from Eshanas Eshanas are strong bonds with Life, Children, Husbands or wives. The sages prayed Lord Rama to liberate them from eshanas. Sages became Gopikas and Lord Rama became Krishna. Lord made the sages to be born as uneducated women in the backward caste to release them from bonds of forward Brahmin caste, male – ego and pride of knowledge. Krishna stole their wealth, butter and liberated them from wealth. Krishna attracted their children through mischievous games and liberated Gopikas from the strong bonds of children. Krishna attracted Gopikas by dance and liberated them from husbands. The three Eshanas of sages were cut by His mischievous play. It was the promise of Lord given to sages previously. When the promise was over He left

Brundavanam. He never repeated this mischief elsewhere in His rest of life. If He is fond of such mischief He should have repeated it. There is no other devotee to whom He promised the same. If He is fond of Gopikas only He should have returned back. None can even detect Him. He has all the super powers. But He never returned back to repeat the mischief with Gopikas, because Gopikas were already Liberated from the three Eshanas. The last Eshana with life was cut only when He left the body. Gopikas jumped into fire while their husbands were alive. Without knowing the back ground do not criticize the Lord. Veda says “All His desires are fulfilled – What more to desire?” Bhagavata is a test for scholars in the spiritual knowledge. He fulfilled His promise to sages in the end of Dwaparayuga, which is almost beginning of Kali. What is the secret here? In Kali such qualities become predominant in the Pravrutti itself. With the medium of similar qualities He became dear to souls. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 315. Nothing or None equals God “Nothing or None equals God” Says Veda for Nivrutti. None includes everybody and hence the husbands or wives also. Gopikas were sages trying for God for millions of births. Radha was the human incarnation of the sage Durvasa. Durvasa was Shiva and hence Radha was incarnation of Shiva. Like Hanuman, who was the incarnation of Shiva for Rama. Shiva is Narayana as per Veda. Hanuman and Radha are God. Rama and Hanuman – Krishna and Radha. Both pairs are the same God playing in dual role. Narayana became Mohini and Shiva was after her. Now Shiva became Radha (Narayana) as Krishna was after her. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 316. Violation of justice in Pravrutti & Nivrutti Eshanas are strong bonds with – Life, Children, Husbands (or wives), and wealth. Gopikas were liberated from all the Eshanas. Hanuman also is example for the total sacrifice to God. He was prepared to sacrifice life by opening heart with nails. Dharma Raja could not sacrifice the justice for the sake of Lord. He did not tell the lie even if the Lord ordered to do so. Arjuna fought with Krishna to save Gaya, who surrendered to him. He could not cross the justice of kings to protect the surrendered. Ramayana and Bhagavatha stand for Nivrutti, the subject of God. Mahabharata stands for

Pravrutti, the subject of society only. Violation of justice in Pravrutti leads to hell, the punishment of God. Pravrutti gives temporary heaven. Nivrutti gives permanent God. Violation of justice in Nivrutti is a part of total sacrifice only. The total sacrifice alone can give the permanent abode of God. You should not isolate the violation of justice from total sacrifice. To conclude, that injustice in Nivrutti – Pleases the God. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 317. Debauchery in the society – Leads to horrible hell! By charity Dharma Raja reached the temporary heaven only. By debauchery Gopikas reached the permanent abode of God. The charity was aimed to the society – Debauchery to the Lord. This is the difference between Mahabharata and Bhagavata. Beware! Debauchery in the society leads to horrible hell! Ravana went to hell, but not Krishna or Gopikas. Ahalya met with Indra thinking that Indra is God. Indra is only a soul present in the energetic body. Narayana is God present in the energetic body. The king is in silk shirt and a beggar is also in silk shirt. The beggar is not the king due to common silk shirt. The king may be in the cotton shirt, yet the king is king. Krishna is in material body, yet Krishna is God. Yadavas, relatives of Krishna, tried to worship Indra, not Krishna. Yadavas are in material bodies Krishna is also in material body. Repulsion between common media – Repulsion between cotton shirts. Indra is in energetic body, silk shirt. Indra is servant of Krishna, God. Cotton shirt respects silk shirt. Even peon in silk shirt is respected. Even collector in cotton shirt is rejected by cotton shirts! This is human psychology that prevents the investigation of truth. Both Ahalya and Indra were punished by pungent curses. Even the bad quality like Debauchery could lead to God, not to speak about a good quality - Like Charity towards God. Gopikas did total charity or sacrifice towards God. Leaving husbands for Krishna is only a part of total sacrifice. Hence, you cannot say that Debauchery alone could please Krishna. They left everybody and everything for the sake of Krishna. They sacrificed their wealth, butter, to Krishna leaving children. They sacrificed even their lives when Krishna left them. They went to Goloka due to their total sacrifice only. If this point is not understood – Bhagavatam is misunderstood. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 318. Advaita Philosophers foolishly fix soul as God!! Advaita Philosophers try to transcend the gross and subtle bodies. They try to fix themselves in souls since soul is God for them. They cross the superimposition of the soul on the external gross body. They kill all qualities and transcend the subtle body once for all. They attain their souls with peace - the peace of a dead body. They become inert

energy in deep sleep – To become stones in future. They stop with such dead silence; mistake it as the bliss. For them absence of loss is the profit – No profit other than this! In such effort they kill all qualities both good and bad. They live in deep sleep like dead bodies, the moving robots. They feel that is the final state – The so called Avadhuta! They have stopped with stage and no arrangements of drama. Their journey is stopped in the intermediate station. Shankara established stage through His commentaries. But He showed the second part, the drama on the stage, through His prayers on Govinda – The human incarnation. The detachment from the world comes through this peace. But that is only arranging stage. The actual drama begins on the stage. When the devotion is towards God, the bliss starts. Rats are removed from the house to live in the house happily. Advaitains burn the house – Rats gone, but also the house. Awareness is gone in deep sleep which is the stage for devotion. No quality is good or bad by virtue of itself. Any quality towards God Is considered to be good. Any stick in fire is burnt to become the sacred ash. Any quality towards world is considered to be bad. Even sugar fallen in mud is not acceptable to tongue. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 319. The fall of standards in Hinduism This country with such climax of the ancient spiritual knowledge standing on the sky has fallen not to earth, even far below earth. India was a unique guide in Nivrutti for entire Universe, One day. Today in India even Pravrutti lost even the minimum standard! The reason for such drastic fall is only misinterpreted scripture. Spiritual knowledge is not frequently propagated in rituals due to priests' ignorance of the language of scripture. Human rebirth is another reason for spiritual negligence. Cancellation of sins by rituals is another misinterpretation. All these contributed equally for the fall of standards in Hinduism. - It should be revived now. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 320. Only One God Created This Universe Hindus say that Brahman is the creator, Muslims say that Allah is creator, Christians say that the creator is Jehovah; all say that the creation is this entire world. If Hindus say that Brahman created India, and if Muslims say that Allah created Arabian countries and if Christians say that Jehovah created the western countries, the problem is solved, there can be three Gods together, who have created the three parts of the earth separately. But this is not so, each religion says that their God only created the entire world, unfortunately there is one world! One world only! Come on, all of you sit together here

and give me the final conclusion after debate, otherwise, the scientists are laughing on all of you! Shame to all! They criticize that these religions do not have even the basic logic, which is the fundamental common sense. Because of you, the greatest God is also mocked by them they say that the religions are rigid conservatisms! Even a small boy is putting this question to all of you. Stop all your discourses and first answer this question. If you want to say that God created the entire world, you have to accept that there is one God only always, and that His names are all the above three names. We see in the world a single person having three names. If there is one God, He only created this entire world. All the human beings are invariably His children only. No Father is partial to a single child and therefore He must have preached the same knowledge to all in different languages and in different methodologies to different levels; this is Universal Spirituality. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 321. Science and logical analysis First you must be aware of the definition of Science. Science is defined as finding out the truth through logical analysis of perceived objects and the phenomena relating those objects. Objects and their phenomena are called as systems, which must have defined boundaries taken for study. There can be no philosophy without Science. In philosophy the ultimate goal is finding the truth. In such investigation the logical analysis must be adapted. Such analysis should not be mere feats of theoretical assumptions and imaginations of brain. The analysis must be based on the experience of the objects and their phenomena. No philosopher speaks philosophy leaving this basis. That is the reason why the word Philosophy is introduced as a common word in the highest degree Ph.D., of every subject. God is beyond this creation and cannot be experienced directly. I am not speaking about such original nature of God because it cannot be experienced directly. God gives His experience through an object, which acts as a medium. Once a medium transfers the experience of God, you can call that object as God or we can say that God is in that object or we can tell that the power of God has entered the object. In any case the object gives the experience of God and can be treated as God or representative of God. The electric power is coming from a battery. We say that the source of the power is the battery and we write the word power on it. The best medium for the human beings is the human incarnation because God answers directly our questions. Even if you treat that human being as a messenger of God, it is only the God that is answering our questions through the human being. The questions related to God cannot be answered by anybody who is not God. Some may answer to some extent but God alone can answer to the full

extent. All the human incarnations have answered all the questions in all the times about God. God has answered through them. You must give an equal chance to God also to argue His own case. He does not need any human being as an advocate. All the previous spiritual preachers preached about God in a systematic way or the scientific way. The human incarnations performed miracles to show that this entire universe is only the imagination of God. You can create any object or change one object into another or make any object disappear or do anything as you like in the case of your imaginary world only. The reality cannot do like this with another equal reality. You cannot call the miracles as some magic. You may achieve the same result through magic but the path of achieving the same result need not be the only one path. For example the human incarnation created some sacred ash from His hand. You may also create the same ash from your hand by hiding the wet powder of sodium chloride in the grooves of your hand. The final product is one and the same. But the paths are different. You should not argue that your path is the only one true path. The same Sodium Chloride can be prepared through several chemical reactions taking different materials. Since the final product is same, you should not argue that all the initial materials and paths are one and the same. You should not also argue that the materials and the reaction path, which you have followed to produce the Sodium Chloride is the only one true path and those are only the true materials. If you see the history of Science the indivisible atom has become divisible and now the sub atomic particles are also divisible as composites of quarks. The Science of yesterday is thrown out by the Science of today. You must sincerely find out the path in which that sacred ash was produced. Instead of doing that you are scolding and condemning that path. If a villager condemns your Science, you will laugh at him. Similarly the human incarnation will laugh at you if you blindly condemn the miracle. Sincere scientists have approached the human incarnations and tried to observe the willmaterialization very closely to find out the truth. Since there is no alternative to disprove it, they have agreed that the will- materialization is a true concept. Why you are limiting yourself to certain concepts only and discard the existence of concepts out of your boundaries? If you accept all the concepts proved by logical analysis and experience, then every thing is Science. You are limiting your village only as the earth. The analysis of miracles is experimental Science, which is the most important essence of Science. The ancient preachers preached based on the Science developed up to that day. For ex: - In ancient Indian logic it is said that space or vacuum has sound as its characteristic (Sabda Gunakamaakasam). But sound does not pass through vacuum. We need not feel shy to discard that old concept. In Religion we accept that all old is gold and all new is wrong. The Scientist speaks reverse of this. Both are extremists. Spirituality or Philosophy examines both and takes truth from both and rejects false from both. The modern Science can discard the old Science because both are related to the concepts of the items existing in the creation. We should not feel sorry about it because we are bothered about the truth only, whether it is

old or modern. But Science, which is the study of creation, cannot discard the Creator who is beyond this Creation. The Creator is neither any item of the Creation nor the total sum of the items of the creation. The Creator, being beyond four-dimensional space and time, becomes unimaginable and so wishes to give His experience to His believers through the objects, which are within the realm of space and time. This gives the experience of the unimaginable, which is yet not imagined. The existence of unimaginable God is proved and it does not mean that the unimaginable should become imaginable. How do you accept unimaginable infinity, which has unimaginable boundaries? Since the boundaries of this infinite Universe cannot be imagined, can you say that the Universe does not exist? Therefore, through out My knowledge, Science, which is defined as above, exists like the gold in a golden ornament. I have also dealt with the latest theories of Science separately to include them in the spiritual knowledge. I have given an equal status of every Religion to Science separately. Please go through all those topics patiently and don’t be hasty in your conclusions. Can you give Me any specific statement from My knowledge, which is not scientific? Your remark is only general without any specific example. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 322. Real Love For the Lord Mostly people love Lord for their desires to be fulfilled. If one really loves Lord without any desire, then only Lord will be pleased. Lord did not say that 'you do anything but I will not be pleased'. If anybody says like that nobody can please him, he has some problem and Lord who is highest intelligent will never say like that. Now next we have to identify the means or the path to please the Lord. We show our real love to family members by serving them physically and also spending our hard earned money to satisfy their desires. In the case of family members we show our love practically. Where as in the case of Lord, we do prayers by words, meditation by mind and spiritual discussion with our intelligence only. Lord gives all these freely to one and all. This is not a true devotion. Above this, if Lord comes in human form because of our ego and jealousy, we will not identify Him, instead hate Him, beat Him and even crucify. Are we doing any of these towards our family members where we have our real love? If we behave like this He will not be pleased definitely. So we have to identify the Lord when He comes in human form and serve Him by participating in His mission. He will be definitely pleased. Service consists of donating money and physically participating in his mission of divine knowledge propagation. True worship results in the service. When the followers of Jesus participated in His mission, He got completely pleased and even undergone crucification to relieve them of their sins. He did not suffer on the cross for all the people in the world but for His people only who participated in His mission on His advice.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 323. God Comes In Human Body For Giving His Presence in The World God is unimaginable, incomprehensible and beyond logic. The creation is the imagination of the Lord. 1%(qualitatively) of His imagination was converted into 'pure awareness' and does not contain God and 100% of this pure awarness has become the universe. Thus God does not exist in the creation. The creator is above creation and is unaffected by it. The aim of the creation was the entertainment of Lord. God enters the creation through the finest item of the creation, i.e. human being. He enters the human body for giving His presence to the world. By doing so, He is not modified into that human body or soul. He is then known as 'Human Incarnation". He gives the facility of touch, talk and seeing to His dearest devotees who really wished to serve Him. Only His devotees identify Him rest all will mock Him seeing His human body. The identification mark of Lord in Human form is the 'True Divine Knowledge', which removes our ignorance without any trace. He also does miracles whenever there is an urgency, and not for 'crowd pulling' or 'show'. He Himself is the founder of the rules of nature. By doing miracles He is violating His own rules, it is a violation of His own administration, thus He performs miracles whenever there is a great necessity. He should be identified by His divine knowledge. God comes in every human generation in human form for the upliftment of Souls. At the Lotus Feet of His holiness, Sri Dattaswami 324. The significance of Present Human Incarnation When you read the scriptures, which are the discourses of past human incarnations, you will get so many doubts demanding clarification. If the original Lord is not available, we have to depend on other fellow human beings for clarifications. Suppose you are studying a correspondence course. When you get a doubt, you have to depend on your classmate, who is studying the course similarly. He is not competent to clarify your doubts and you will be poisoned by his wrong interpretations. Suppose you are studying the same course in a college and the lecturer is explaining in the class. Whenever you get a doubt, you can ask him then and there and you will surely get the correct interpretation at the correct moment. The clarification is important at the correct moment because without clarification the latter part of the lecture may not be understood or may be misunderstood. Such a facility does not exist with past human incarnations and past scriptures. In this light alone, Jesus modified all the Old Testament and gave the correct interpretation as and when people asked Him questions and doubts. If Jesus is not in the present generation, He must be blamed for being partial towards that generation alone. However God is impartial and therefore comes in every generation. The present generation is very much blessed because of the facility of computer

technology. You can clarify your doubts through this computer system without any strain of traveling to the human incarnation in person. All the divine preachers in this world are in contact with God and are doing the divine preaching to various levels of devotees. Their preachings may be mixed with some ignorance and it is not their fault because such mixing with ignorance in various proportions is required for various lower levels of human beings. The complete and pure knowledge without any trace of ignorance can be grasped only by a very few highest devotees. The number of advanced research students studying under a professor is always very small. Therefore the direct human incarnation is recognized by a very few top level devotees only. The number of elementary school students are always many and the number of elementary school teachers are also many. As you rise in the level, the number of students and the number of professors become lesser and lesser. Therefore you should not aspire for a large number of followers. For the direct human incarnation, there will be only a very few deserving devotees of such a top level. But such top devotees are spread here and there all over the world. Therefore there is a necessity for propagating the top most divine knowledge of the top most human incarnation, all over the world. But the number of followers will not be high but will be the very least. Jesus said that His path is very narrow and that only very few people travel on it. Lord Krishna has told in the Gita that only one in millions can perfectly understand Him (Kashchit Mam Vetti…). Therefore the aim of the topmost human incarnation is not to have a large number of followers, since it is impossible. The aim is only to see that the topmost knowledge reaches the few deserving devotees, who are spread all over the world here and there. If you wish to have a large number of followers, then divine knowledge has to be adulterated with ignorance. The truth should not be exposed in such a case. Diamonds are always in few in number whereas gravel stones are many. The lower level devotees and the lower level school teachers should not be criticized. The levels of school, college and university are obviously required due to the existence of human beings in the corresponding levels. Therefore you should not criticize the students in schools and colleges. Today you are a student of a university. But one day you were in the school and in the college. Without the guidance of the school teacher and the college lecturer you could not have entered the university. The direct human incarnation of the Lord is the topmost professor, who has a few post graduate and research level students. God, being the head of the university level in spirituality, the schools and colleges are affiliated to the university and work under His leadership. It is the huge system of divine preachers. The school teachers and the college lecturers are working under the guidance and will of that Professor alone. The system is split to suit the various levels but there is no split in the preachers. The whole system of divine preachers is perfectly working due to the grace of that Supreme Preacher. There is no split in the preachers. Mixing up ignorance with knowledge is inevitable and is done according to the level of the students. There is only one Supreme Preacher in a generation and He will be covering all the preachers and religions under the concept of Universal Spirituality. Some lower preachers may oppose this concept and it is not the fault of those preachers. Since the students of some lower levels do not agree to this concept, those preachers have to proceed according

to their psychology. The supreme preacher knows this fact and only smiles, if any preacher of a lower level opposes this concept. It is by the internal wish of Supreme Preacher only, that preacher opposes Him so that he can have a grip on his students who are of a lower level and do not like this concept. It is a very long journey to transform the entire Universe and make it realize this concept of Universal Spirituality. But one day or other this divine goal will be achieved and the entire world will be like one family with one Divine Father. The various cultures and religions need not disappear. But the innermost single continuous thread of the garland of gems with various colors will be realized by every human being of this universe. Such a state is called as WORLD PEACE. Please remember that the divine preachers in this entire Universe are not at all split. They appear as if they are split in order to have a grip on their corresponding students, who are really split. All these divine preachers are connected by their innermost souls and are working by the grace of that Supreme preacher, who is the Lord in human form. The difference in the preachers is only apparent to satisfy the different psychologies of the followers. One preacher may criticize another preacher in order to satisfy his followers but all these divine preachers are internally united and are working on the single program of transforming this entire world to realize the Universal Spirituality, which is the Absolute Truth like the one Absolute God. All the original preachers like Krishna, Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad etc. are brilliant diamonds and all their followers are like black pieces of charcoal. The diamond and charcoal are made of the same carbon atoms. Similarly the preacher and the follower are human beings. In the diamond there is a regular crystal structure. The charcoal is amorphous, without any crystal structure. Thus the correct logical interpretation makes the scripture shine like a brilliant diamond. The same scripture without regular logical interpretation becomes a black charcoal. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 325. Impartial Preaching of Lord While preaching the Lord follows the psychology of receiver and speaks to His corresponding level only in a palatable way (Priyam) so that he will not run away on hearing a harsh truth (Satyam), which may correspond to higher level. But at the same time the Lord will not preach a lie (Amrutam) even if it is liked very much. At the same time he will introduce slightly higher level so that a little truth with little harshness is introduced. The psychology of the receiver which likes only palatable concepts is as important as the truth. If a lie which is highly palatable is spoken, the huge majority of followers will appear. But what is the use of such preaching? Because the receiver is not really benefited in long range (upper world). If the entire concept is reveled, it is so harsh that people will run away without even hearing it. Therefore, the middle gold path of Aristotle should be followed so that a minority of followers appears.

If the preacher shows some miracles, huge crowds will follow who will be interested in solving their problems by exploiting that super power. In that case the preacher may speak any nonsense, the followers will be clapping. The devotion of such followers is only artificial and such devotees are the prostitute devotees. The miracles are exhibited by the Lord spontaneously in the case of extreme necessity for the sake of a really deserving devotee. The miracle is expected to help the devotee in the spiritual path. The sage Udanka did not ask for the vision of Viswarupam. But still the Lord showed it and sage Udanka got its benefit permanently. The sage believed the human incarnation throughout his life. Arjuna could get only some temporary benefit by such vision and therefore the Lord did not show it by himself unless Arjuna requested for it. Duryodhana did not ask for it but Dhrutarashtra asked to see it. In the case of these two, there is no use at all and the vision did not change them. The miracle can not be a poof of the Lord because even the devotees either good or bad also show miracles. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 326. Inexplicability of Maya When God enters the human body in the incarnation God mixes a little of His inexplicability or Maya with a characteristic of the human body so that the imaginable characteristic of the human body becomes a little unimaginable, which can be called as wonderful. The word wonderful indicates a little higher state than explicability and much lower state than full inexplicability. It is like the roof of a house, which is higher than the floor but much lower than the sky; you can grasp it and at the same time can not understand it. For example the human body has an explicable characteristic called as “ Lifting power” by lifting a suitable stone. The boy Krishna can lift a small stone, which is explicable characteristic of the body boy, the nature. Nature or Prakruti is explicable by your analysis. A crane can lifts a small mountain, it is also explicable. But the boy lifted the hill on his finger, this is wonderful because the lifting of mountain is grasped by you since you can imagine the crane lifting the hill. But little inexplicability comes when the boy lifts the hill. The boy, little lifting power of boy, crane lifting the hill, all these are explicable signs of the nature, fully grasped among these explicable concepts only one concept lies which is inexplicable; that is the boy lifting the hill. Assuming that the power of the crane is in the boy, can that tender body withstand that much power? The material of work is metal in the crane, it can withstand. But the body is a tender flower, how it withstood? One inexplicable point mixed with several explicable points is called as wonder; it is a diluted inexplicability. The full inexplicability is unbearable to human beings. Even this wonder causes so much anxiety and thrill. Some times it leads to the failure of the heart by shock. Can anyone withstand the full inexplicability, if shown? If Krishna stands by uplifting the entire earth on his finger, the devotee will collapse with the shock of surprise. He showed the entire world in His mouth to His mother. She could not withstand the vision and became unconscious. The most confusing point in that vision is that she along with Krishna is also found in His mouth! The scene of vision and the entire site is in His mouth!! He showed the entire cosmos within His body to Arjuna. The cosmic energy will burn the eye sight of Arjuna. Therefore He gave the inner divine sight by which only Arjuna could see the entire

Electro magnetic spectrum, which is in the form of the world, energy in the units of matter. Therefore the Lord shows tolerable miracles only, which you can see even with your physical eyes. Miracles are wonderful, which are diluted inexplicabilities. When you see a vision, you become shocked with excitement. As long as you believe the vision is true, the shock continues. To save the devotee, a doubt in the mind of the devotee arises by which he thinks that whether the vision is illusion. This doubt neutralizes the shock and arose by His will only. In Gita the Lord says “ Mattah Smrutih Jnanam”, which means that the same Lord gives true knowledge and also the doubt. Jnanam or knowledge is the imaginable sign of the human body. When the Lord entered into the human body in incarnation, a little of His inexplicability or Maya enters jnanam. Now His knowledge becomes wonderful, which is both understandable and little unimaginable, hence wonderful. Such divine knowledge is Prajnanam or special knowledge. The Upasarga or suffix “Pra” means wonderful specialty. This will help you to detect the existence of His place. Veda says “Asti Ityeva” which means, “only existence is known”. Thus devotee who believes Him knows Him a little. This little awareness of God is the experience of God. You can not experience the full nature of God, because you can not withstand the quantitative aspect of His Maya. You have tasted a little water from the sea and you can tell that the sea is saltish, that is sufficient since you tasted the sea. The entire sea cannot and need not be swallowed by you to say that the sea is saltish. The qualitative conclusion is same whether you taste a drop or the entire ocean itself. You can know through the miracle that God is inexplicable. You need not understand the entire quantity of His power, which is impossible and you can not withstand it. Veda says “ Satyam Jnanam Anantam Brahma”, which means that the special knowledge of the Lord is infinite. The devotee can never receive that entire special knowledge. After receiving a little special knowledge, he can conclude that His special knowledge is infinite and unimaginable. A person who took a tumbler of water from the sea- and a person who took a pot of water from the sea- both can say that the sea is infinite. Let the tumbler not think that the pot has swallowed the whole sea. Let the pot not be proud that the tumbler has not taken even a drop. Let the scholar not think that he received entire knowledge. Let him not think that ignorant people have no knowledge. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 327. Spiritual journey of a soul Initially the Lord attracts the devotee through miracles and creates belief and devotion in the mind of a human being. Thus the human being is converted into devotee. Thus from the stage of human being the soul carries on the journey to the stage of a devotee. This journey is taking place due to the effort of the Lord only. This is called as the “Marjala Kisora Nyaya”, which means the mother cat carrying on its off spring by catching it with her mouth. The effort of the human being is nil in this case. But the human being must have open mind to receive the help from the Lord and to recognize the existence of the super natural power of the Lord and thereby to recognize the existence of the Lord. For such situation the problems and troubles in the life which are due to Karma Chakra (The wheel of deeds) are also helping the soul. Thus the troubles are the real helpers towards the spiritual line. The misery due to the troubles is praised by the Lord in Gita

(Aartho….. Udaaraah). Kunti asked for constant troubles from the Lord. In this stage though the effort of the soul is nil, the soul must have flexibility and open mind to recognize the helper, the Lord. The impartial Lord gives this opportunity equally to all the human beings but the atheist due to absence of open mind and due to foolish rigidity does not accept the existence of the Lord even after such help. Thus though we say that the effort of the individual is nil in this case, to have open mind to realize the truth is also considered as the effort of the human being. When the effort of the human being exists, it is called as “Markata Kisora Nyaya”, which means the off spring is holding on itself by catching the womb of its mother-monkey. Thus both these lines always co-exist and are mutual to each other. In the sacred book “Yoga Vasista”, the preacher Vasista preaches spiritual knowledge to Rama. In the very beginning itself Vasista emphasizes on the effort of the individual soul (Purusha Prayatna). Without the effort of the soul if the Lord has to carry on the devotee by His grip only, then the Lord has to carry on all the souls of the creation. Then only the Lord can become impartial. If that is done there is no meaning of the creation because the thrill of love disappears. The love of one in millions cannot be tasted by the Lord. If all the students in the class get cent percent and if all are given gold medals, then there is no thrill. But the teacher puts his effort equally on all the students and every student has equal opportunity to get the gold medal. When one gets the gold medal we cannot blame the teacher to be partial. The teacher wishes and puts equal effort on all the students and aspires every student to get the gold medal. But the fact is that only one gets the gold medal. The aspiration of the teacher and his practical effort without any partiality is completely different and the actual fact that takes place is all together totally different. You cannot link these two contradicting extreme facts. It is true that the teacher wishes that every student should stand first and he puts equal effort on every student without any trace of partiality. At the same time it is also equally true that only one student stands first. From the point of the teacher we have to appreciate the way of mother cat. From the point of the student you have to appreciate the way of mother monkey. The teacher tries to carry on every student to the goal like the mother cat. But only one student reaches the goal because of his strongest grip. Thus both the lines are equally important from their own angles. The teacher is always like the mother cat. The off spring should be always like the baby monkey. At Thy Lotus Feet His Holiness Sri Dattaswami 328. Veda as reference There are several religions and there are several scriptures corresponding to these religions. We must fix a scripture as the primary standard so that other scriptures can be standardized with reference to that. The other scripture also becomes standard with reference to which some other scripture can be also standardized. This is called as the process of standardization in Science. Such a primary standard can be the Veda. I know immediately the colors of your faces

will change. Immediately you will blame Me that I am not the preacher of Universal Religion. You will misunderstand Me as the preacher of Hinduism in guise. This situation will arise even if I take the scripture of some other religion also as the primary standard. The misunderstanding is inevitable and unavoidable. I have to take one scripture of some religion and I have to be subjected to the criticism. Therefore, I ignore the criticism. I know what I am in My inner consciousness. My inner self is the real witness as long as I am the preacher of Universal Religion to My inner self, I need not fear for any external criticism from any angle. The reason for selecting Veda as the primary standard is that even today the Veda is being preserved by ordained recitation with the help of thousands of families. If you go to older and older times millions of families were reciting Veda just to preserve it from any type of intrusions or deletions. In Indian spiritual field there are several branches of philosophy who fight with each other orally. For all these branches, Veda is the standard text. Such situation never existed in any religion in this world and does not exist even today. Even today different schools of philosophy in Hinduism fight with each other and all of them quote the same Veda. Such competition was and is unique in Hinduism. In such competitive atmosphere pollution of Veda is impossible. If any word is added or deleted, immediately the other schools will shout because they fear that in such case Veda may support a particular branch of philosophy due to the possibility of a new interpretation for a new sentence. Leave the past. Tell Me frankly whether such situation exists in any religion in this world even today. This is the main reason why I have selected Veda as the primary standard. The diversity in Hinduism has done lot of good in this direction. The sanctity of the scripture is well protected. In the olden days the books were in the form of written scripts of palm leaves. Printing was not there. Therefore, a very few scripts were only present. In such case it was very easy to introduce a new palm leaf or to remove an older palm leaf because hardly one or two scripts were present in a very large region. Except this one reason there is no any other reason for Me to favor Veda but you need not worry that the scriptures of other religions have to be judged with reference to Veda only. Fortunately, all the scriptures of all the religions agree with Veda. The primary standard is useful in very few places where there is disagreement. Even that disagreement arises only from the misinterpretation of the statement. If the correct interpretation is given all the statements are perfectly coinciding with Veda. Moreover, one can decide the final version of any concept based on the logical analysis. If the logical analysis fails, then mere Veda need not be taken as authority. If the logic disagrees you can reject any scripture including Veda. Therefore, Veda along with the logical analysis only stands as a primary standard. When you are convinced logically

about a concept and when such concept is found in Veda, then only the concept is authorized. Therefore, I am not rubbing Veda on any head without the logical analysis. Therefore, one need not doubt about the fanatic. The primary standard means the original word of God heard directly. But when other scriptures are perfectly in agreement with such word where is the question of fanatic? Every scripture becomes the word of God. This point supports the Universal Religion, which says that the single God delivered the scriptures of all the religions. When the author is one and the same how can there be difference between the scriptures? If there is any difference it is only by your misinterpretation. Therefore, primary standard is only for convenience but not for fanatic. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 329. Concept of death and Jesus on the cross One of you asked Me about the significance of cross in Christianity. Some scholars have interpreted it to the striking of I, which represents the egoism. It is a good interpretation but it does not speak about the significance of Jesus present on the cross in the process of crucification. Therefore, if you consider both the cross and Jesus on it, there is more important significance, which represents the death of Jesus. In the death, the soul leaves this external human body. It indicates that one day or other you have to leave your body and everything and everybody associated with the body. Therefore, the concept of death is the most sacred spiritual preacher, which preaches about the non-eternal bonds with your relations and related things in this world. Thus, death is the most pious concept and one should not fear for it. You should not fear for your spiritual preacher who is the most sacred and pious. You must give your utmost attention to this most pious spiritual preacher, the concept of death. When Nachiketa asked his father about the donation of himself, his father told that he would be donated to the God of death called Yama. Infact, Nachiketa received the best spiritual knowledge from Yama as you find in Veda. Everybody knows that death is inevitable. But such is only knowledge. By Knowledge one just knows. This is not sufficient unless the knowledge is often memorized, which leads to realization. Thus, knowledge, memorization and realization are the three steps after which only practice comes as said in Veda (Srotavyo….). Due to the absence of the other two steps, in practice the human being is behaving as if these worldly bonds are eternal. Unless these bonds are cut, liberation or salvation is impossible. Without liberation attainment of God is subsequently not possible. When you are bound to certain things, how can you achieve other things? The attachment to the Lord is unable to give the salvation from these bonds because the attachment to the Lord is not strong. Unless you realize the nature of these bonds, you cannot get salvation from these bonds. The nature of these bonds is best exposed by the concept of death. Thus, when you are constantly looking at the cross with Jesus on it in the process of

crucification, then you realize the nature of these bonds continuously. Such continuous realization leads to continuous practice. Practice alone can give the result. Thus, the cross with Jesus in the phase of death is having the greatest spiritual significance in giving you the liberation. Unless you derive the concept from the statue of Jesus on cross, such statue becomes useless, if it is conceived only in the sense of the death of Jesus. Jesus himself advises the people not to weep on His death, but they should weep about themselves. This means that the physical sense of crucification should not be taken. If you take the internal significance; it will be useful for your spiritual development. Thus, when you are worshiping the idols, the concepts for which the idols stand should be realized. The constant attention on the idol is also necessary so that the concept is memorized again and again. It is for this purpose, the idol worship is introduced. Therefore, one should not mock at the idol worship. Christians wear cross with Jesus on it in the chain around the neck. The church also shows the same. Such photos are in the houses. All this is the idol worship. I do not know why they criticize the idol worship and follow the same in practice. The Christian scriptures criticize the idol worship. The point in such criticism is that mere worship of idols without realizing the concepts for which those idols were created is useless. From this angle idol worship is to be criticized. Thus, you have both positive and negative angles for any point based on the context. Thus, we know the concept of death but we have not realized it. Therefore, we do not remember the concept. Our continuous impression is only about the life, which we are constantly experiencing. Hence, our feeling was that we lived in the past, we are living in the present and we will live forever in the future. Due to this we feel that these bonds are eternal and that this world is also eternal. It is said that spiritual knowledge is to be obtained from Lord Siva (Jnanam Mahesvarat..). Lord Siva is famous for destroying the world. Thus, when we remember Siva, we must remember that this world is not eternal. Siva lives in burial ground. This again signifies that any individual has to meet the death. Therefore, Siva preaches you that both this world and your body are not eternal. Yama, the deity of death preached spiritual knowledge to Nachiketa, which means that the concept of death gives you real spiritual knowledge. The brother of Yama, Sani (Saturn) is the source of all problems and troubles. Astrology says that the planet Sani is the source of spiritual knowledge (Jnana karaka..). Again this means that troubles only make you active by which you will think about God. Thus, Sani and Yama, the brothers, are the source of problems and death give you spiritual knowledge. The pleasures will make you inactive, egoistic and inert. Kunti asked Krishna for constant troubles only. The very word Siva means auspicious or most pious. This again means that his work of the destruction of world and his burial ground indicate the temporary existence of world and body. Such realization is most sacred. Therefore, the very meaning of the word Siva is that is most sacred spiritual preacher. Yama and Sani are said to be born to the Sun. Sun represents intelligence and light of knowledge, which removes the dark ignorance. This again indicates that the concepts of problems and death are the products of the real intellectual spiritual knowledge.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 330. Rebirth-Christanity-Islam-Hinduism – Part-I You say that the same Lord revealed the same knowledge in the entire world in different languages. But Islam and Christianity say that there is no rebirth. Hinduism speaks about the rebirth. If the Lord is same, how this contradiction comes? =============================================================== ===== Only one Lord created this entire universe. He should have told the same knowledge everywhere in the world. The contradiction is only due to misunderstanding. In Hinduism also Sankara says that again human birth is almost impossible (Jantunaam Nara Janma Durlabhamidam). Sankara was the incarnation of Siva and so what He told is also authoritative. Even Gita says that the soul comes back to this world but does not say that the soul gets again the human birth (Ksheene Punye Martyalokam Visanti). In the second chapter, Gita speaks about rebirth but not about the human rebirth. Islam and Christianity say that the human birth is given only as a single chance. After this the final judgement is given. The soul either goes to the Lord or goes to the hell permanently. In Gita also there are two ways for the soul. Either the soul goes to the Lord and does not return back or the soul returns back to the world (Abrahma Bhuvanath, Yat Gatva). According to Gita, if the soul does not go to the Lord (Brahmaloka), it returns back after enjoying the fruits of incomplete spiritual effort. Therefore in this human birth, if the spiritual effort is completed, the soul goes to the Brahmaloka permanently. If the spiritual effort is incomplete the soul may go up to any world below Brahmaloka, it will return back to this earth after enjoying the fruits of its incomplete spiritual effort. The soul may go up to the sixth world, it cannot go to the Brahmaloka, which is the seventh world by doing the remaining spiritual effort in the sixth world. The reason is once the soul leaves this earth all the upper worlds are only Bhogalokas i.e., the worlds in which the soul can enjoy the fruits, but cannot do any work (Karma). Therefore the soul has to return back to the earth. The soul will not get again another chance of human birth because once it is failed it can never succeed. Therefore the soul comes to the earth and falls into the cycle of animals and birds only. When the soul is trapped in this cycle of animal births, it is treated as a permanent hell. If the soul goes to Brahmaloka it always accompanies the Lord either in Brahmaloka or may come back to the earth along with the Lord who takes the human incarnation. In such case the soul is born as a divine servant of the Lord. Such soul will not take rebirth in the cycle of animals. Thus for the divine soul also there is no such rebirth. In this way Hinduism, Islam and Christianity are correlated as one concept preached by the one Lord. Christians and Muslims are putting up sincere spiritual effort because there is a threat that

this human life is the only chance. There is no reexamination according to these religions. This human birth is the only one examination and the soul either passes or fails and will not be allowed for any reexamination. But in Hinduism such threat is not there. People have taken a lenient view on the spiritual life because they think that the human rebirths are possible and so they can put up the spiritual effort slowly in the future human births. The Lord cannot say different theories to different people. The rule must be same for all the human beings of the world. Therefore whatever the Lord told in Christianity and Islam also told the same in Hinduism. Hindus misunderstood the concept. Therefore what ever may be the religion, every human being should think “Now or Never”. The human rebirth is only for Yoga Bhrashta i.e., the soul, which has reached Brahmaloka and fell due to some slip. Such a soul is suspended from Brahmaloka and comes down to the earth and takes rebirth as a human being only. You have passed the P.G. Degree and obtained the post of the lecturer. But you were suspended for a month due to some mistake. You will be re-appointed. Similarly the Yoga Bhrashta will be born as a human being for some time and will come back to Brahmaloka. The case of incomplete spiritual effort is different from Yoga Bhrashta. The incomplete spiritual person is like a B.A. Degree holder who never achieved the lecturer post. You cannot argue that you can be appointed as a seventy five percent lecturer since you reached seventy five percent of the total educational period (from school to P.G.Degree is hundred percent) by getting a B.A. Degree. Thus there is no partial achievement by partial spiritual effort. The grace of the Lord is either hundred percent or zero. If it is hundred percent you are reaching Brahmaloka. If it is Zero percent you are falling back to the earth in the cycle of animals and birds. There is no third way in between these two. When this truth is revealed, only one in thousands will try to put the real spiritual effort as said in Gita (Manushyaanaam Sahasreshu). By this Hindus will become alert in spiritual effort like Christians and Muslims. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 331. Why Mohammed told He was the last prophet? Rohit: Swami! In Quran, it is stated that Mohammed is not father of any one. Further it is stated there that He is the last Prophet sent by God. What is the inner meaning of this, if this verse is genuine statement? -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Swami: Oh Rohit! You have picked up very crucial concept of spirituality. This statement is original and therefore it entered your mind. The inner meaning of this verse is based on the angle, which you take for the word Mohammed. Here the word Mohammed stands only for the external human form and not the internal eternal God. Islam does not agree to the concept of human incarnation. When Bible says the word Jesus, it means the internal eternal God. When the Gita says

Krishna, He means the same eternal God. Because both Christianity and Hinduism believe God in flesh, we need not criticise Islam for not believing Human Incarnation, because the main idea is that there is always misuse of this concept. The human beings claim themselves as human incarnations. Every human being following the philosophy of Advaita in Hinduism feels that it is the Lord. This is very dangerous extrapolation. Even devils and demons claimed themselves as eternal God by doing certain miracles after achieving some super powers. All these dangerous misleading cases harm the devotees. In the name of idol worship also, priests have exploited devotees. They keep idols in front and rob the wealth of devotees. To avoid all these misleading misused concepts, Islam sorted to the worship of formless aspect of God, we appreciate this. But because of misuses we cannot deny basic system itself. If copying is happening, it should be arrested by taking care. We cannot cancel the very examination system for the fear of this misuse, we are not avoiding the journey by buses and trains due to possibility of accidents. The human incarnation is important. That is the only path to reach God as said by Jesus because the human beings approach God only through human form. The devotees can get full satisfaction and full guidance only from the human incarnation and not from any other form of God. Of course, if you fear for the exploitation of this concept here, it is better to stick to formless God or God through statues. But you should be prepared for the disadvantages in the above ways. You will also loose the golden chance provided by God for your sake. Yet, Islam should be appreciated because avoiding danger is good. Such decision was taken by Islam depending on the circumstances and the atmosphere prevailed over the society during the time of Mohammed. We should understand the religion from the point of the circumstances and the environment that existed during the propagation at that time. But now the scientific logical analysis is well developed and one need not fear for the exploitation by the false human incarnations who can be easily identified, so you should not avoid the system in the present circumstances. Islam is not a new concept to the Hinduism because in Hinduism the philosophy of Madhva says the same and preaches that the Lord Can never become the human being nor vice versa, and this is also stated by Jesus when He told that He was the Messenger sent by God. Thus Islam agrees with Hinduism and Christianity in its basic concept. Mohammed told that He was the last prophet because He did not like another false human incarnation to come and mislead and exploit the mass. It is only to avoid the danger of exploitation of cunning human beings. What is the reason for Islam not to accept the human incarnation? Even Mohammed said that He was only the servant of God and He did not claim Himself as the human incarnation, even though He Himself knows the truth; that He is the God in Flesh like

Buddha or Krishna or Jesus. This reason enlightens the greatness of Islam Religion. The reason is that once a real human incarnation is accepted, several fraud human incarnations claim themselves as God and mislead the spiritual aspirants for their selfish ends. In fact such concept was so much polluted and got so much diluted so that every human being started thinking that he himself is God. In Hinduism this misinterpretation rules the minds of several people even today and most people think “Aham Brahmaasmi”, which means “I am God”, people say that service to human beings is service to God because every human being is God only, Sankara condemned this concept, which was a religion called Loka Sevaka Matam. When Jesus was worshiped by a lady who was using some special scent to wash His divine lotus feet, a disciple told that the cost of the scent could have been used to serve the beggars. The disciple thought that service to society is better than the personal service of the Lord, but Jesus immediately replied, “Let her do this service, beggars are always present in this world but I come rarely to this world”. This shows that the Lord is far greater than the society and the social service is valid only When the Lord gives permission to do so, because the saviour is the Lord and not the society, thus the background of Islam should be properly understood. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 332. The inner meaning of the word 'Karma' The Gita says that the meaning of the word Karma has very deep sense (Gahanaa Karmano Gatih). This world is called as creation. Creation means work like explanation etc. Karma means work. Therefore this world is a form of work only. Work is a form of energy. Energy is dynamism or action or work. Matter is energy. Heat, sound etc. are forms of energy. Therefore the world which consists of space, matter, light, heat, awareness etc. is essentially energy or work only. Space is a form of energy. Awareness is also a form of energy. Therefore all this creation is work only. Work needs the worker. The worker is God. God is the creator and creation is His work. This entire world is said to be the dance (work) of Shiva. This entire world is just a game (work) of God. Therefore you should realize that any part of this creation is work or dance or game of God. The working material (matter) is also a form of His work only. The forces in this creation are again His works only. Thus you should realize that every part of His creation as the work of God and thus we should constantly remember God. When you see an object, the object is His work. The process of seeing is His work. The subject (yourself), who is also an object for others, is also work of God. If you analyze your self, you can realize that you are entirely His work only. The matter of your body, working forces like heat, circulation force of blood etc. are also His works. Awareness is His work. The basic form of your awareness which is energy is also His work only. Knowledge is the work of intelligence. Devotion is the work of mind. Service is the work of your body. Sacrifice which is a process of leaving something is also a work.

Therefore whatever you understand is work and understanding itself is work. The word Karma is frequently repeated in the Gita. There is nothing like static condition. Even in a static stone, the molecules, atoms and subatomic particles are rotating, vibrating and spinning indicating essentially the work only. The Gita says that work should be found in static state (Akarmanichayah). The Gita also says that you should find no work in the work (karmanya karma yah pasyet). What does this mean? This means, you should not think that the work is the work of itself. You should find the worker who is doing the work. You should not think that the work is going on by itself. The work is done by somebody. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 333. Karma & practical sacrifice The Gita praises karma as the path of pleasing the God. Knowledge by intelligence, love by mind and prayers by words are also forms of Karma. But these three forms are negligible like offering drinking water to the guest. The practical service and sacrifice of fruit of work are important like offering the meals which is the important two-fold karma. The cooking of meals is karma sanyasa and sacrifice of fruit of your work which is meals is karmaphala tyaga. The fruit of this work is also the final form of your work only. Karma is energy and fruit of karma is matter. Energy and matter are inter-convertible forms. The karma sanyasa and karmaphala tyaga are one and the same and always go together. The word sanyasa indicates that sacrifice of work is mainly meant for saints who do not earn any fruit by work. The karma sanyasa and karmaphala tyaga together relate to the householder. This is a practical proof of the devotion. The reality of this concept is understood by referring to your service to your family. The karma becomes complete when the meal is also associated with drinking water. This is the path of karma in complete sense. Karma in the form of sacrifice of words, mind and intelligence as drinking water and the sacrifice of work as cooking and serving and sacrifice of fruit of work as meal is the five-fold path of karma to attain the divine grace. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 334. Is the turbulence in life is due to previous life's karmas? Now you have understood the meaning of karma. A person did some bad deed (paapa karma or vikarma). The person went to hell and was punished there. The punishment reduced the intensity of quality (guna or samskara) which is the cause of that deed. But the quality is not completely removed and a small trace of it remains. Punishment cannot remove the quality which is a form of wrong knowledge. The wrong knowledge can be completely removed only by right knowledge and not by external physical punishment. Of course the punishment reduces the intensity of wrong knowledge to a great extent. A

thief can leave his quality of stealing only on realization obtained by the right knowledge. Any extent of torture cannot remove this quality completely. Therefore, even when the thief comes out of the police station, a trace of the quality of stealing remains. But if he meets a Satguru and receives right knowledge, the quality can be removed completely. Valmiki, a robber, became a sage by the preaching of Narada but not by the third degree treatment in a police station. The samskara or quality is knowledge and can be destroyed by another type of knowledge only, as a diamond is cut by another diamond. Except the knowledge, no other physical works like chanting the name, doing worship, singing songs or any other physical exercise can remove the wrong knowledge which is the cause of sins. Now what is this wrong knowledge? Is it not karma? As I told you the knowledge is also karma because any part of the creation is karma only. Quality or samskara is a process of feeling or thinking of awareness which is karma only. But the karma of awareness can be removed by another karma of awareness only and not by the karma of matter or inert energy. Beating and burning are the works done by inert matter and inert energy. They can affect the body and since the body is connected to mind, it can create fear and reduce the intensity of the wrong knowledge but cannot remove it from the root. Only the logical analysis of right knowledge can remove this samskara or quality from the root. When the quality is removed, it’s corresponding deed also disappears. Therefore the right knowledge removes the cause of the karma and thus burn the quality and its deed from the root (Jnanagnih Sarva karmani-the Gita). When the sinner comes to the earth from the hell he is with the trace of quality. Since the quality is also basically karma, the trace of quality is called as karma sesha (remains of karma). This trace of quality grows in a congenial atmosphere into a big tree and the deed is again repeated. The punishment of this deed may be in the hell or sometimes may be immediate. Sometimes the thief may be caught by the house owner on the spot and may be beaten immediately. Sometimes the thief may be caught in the police station and may be beaten there. Even if he escapes these two places he will certainly be beaten in the hell. Therefore the deed of the previous birth punished in the hell comes down along with the soul as karma sesha (quality or samskara) which is responsible for the corresponding deed on this earth and which may yield its fruit here itself. In such case his previous quality called as previous karma is certainly responsible for the misery here. Here you have to understand one point. The karma of the previous birth is not giving its result directly in this birth. The samskara which was responsible to the karma of the previous birth continues into this birth as a trace, which grows in a congenial atmosphere and generates its corresponding karma once again, which may yield sometimes its fruit here itself. Thus the karma of the present birth is only responsible directly for your misery here and the present karma has its root in the samskara of previous birth. This samskara can be called as karma and thus in that sense it is said that the karma of the previous birth is responsible for the present misery. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

335. Astrology & Enjoyment of our sins by God The stars or planets are the executives of the cycle of samskaras, karmas and their corresponding fruits which are totally called as cycle of deeds (karma charka). They are the executives of the judgments given by the judge (Dharma deva), who follows the constitution written by God. God never interferes with the executive function of His own commandments as said in the Gita (Nadatte kasyachit paapam). Shastras say that one has to undergo the results of his deeds even after millions of Yugas (Kalpa koti satairapi). This does not mean that the postponement of simple principle takes place. The interest is accumulated by way of compounding. Therefore scholars like to enjoy the results as early as possible. They never pray God to cancel the judgment which is impossible. By prayers or certain rituals or by exhaustive crying before God, only postponement of the enjoyment of the results along with the interest takes place. Ignorant people misunderstand this postponement as canceling. Therefore this fundamental aspect must be realized. When the priests do certain rituals by taking some dakshina from you, they are purchasing your punishment through your money. Therefore a real Vedic scholar will never do the business of a priest because he knows the whole concept. No real Vedic scholar accepts the dakshina and even food from anybody which are called as aparigraha and vaishwadeva respectively. Sai Baba said that the breads offered by the house holders were their’s sins only. Eating that bread is only enjoying the sin of others. Thus you find in our ancient tradition when somebody offers meals in a function to others, others also offer the same in their functions. The priest is earning his livelihood by this way but is becoming more and more affected. The priests are thinking that they are cheating the public but they are cheating themselves by this way. It is better to do hard work and earn the livelihood than such business of transfer of sin for money. But if the whole ritual is transformed into a divine worship of God, the story is totally different. The grace of God comes there and the God may be pleased to reduce or remove the sin by enjoying it Himself through a human form. Here also the justice is not violated. The father pays the fine for his son. This is the only way of removing the sin. Either it should be postponed with interest or it should be sold to a priest or it should be enjoyed by God Himself. In anyway the result of the deed has to be enjoyed and it can never be canceled without enjoyment. But if you conduct the ritual as a divine worship of God and give dakshina to a deserving devotee, then the story is different. Your sin is not enjoyed by the devotee. God comes down in human form and enjoys your sin for the sake of that devotee. Even in this case the results have to be enjoyed only. Instead of selling your sin to a priest, it is better to sell your sin to a devotee. God has the tolerance to enjoy the sin of His devotee or the sin transferred to His devotee from you. But if you do the ritual by worshiping God and offering dakshina to the devotee, without the aim of removing your sins, the result is tremendous. It is a real sacrifice without any aim of business. God will undergo all your sins without any account since your sacrifice is also without any account. Therefore you

must remove this poisonous idea of removing your sins through rituals by offering dakshina to the priests or devotees. You must be prepared to undergo the results of your sins and do the rituals with the same sacrifice without aspiring any fruit. Then you will be blessed by God. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 336. Mere knowledge through words will not bring realization- Enjoy the misery You are trying to remove the problems but the problems are only your real friends in the spiritual line. The constant existence of problems will activate you and suppress your egoism creating a favorable atmosphere for the devotion to God. The happiness will make you proud and lazy and you will be deviated from the spiritual line. Therefore scholars like to enjoy the problems which are the guiding forces in the spiritual line. Kunti asked for existence of problems continuously as a boon from Krishna. The real tears will come in misery only while praying the God. This human life is obtained as rare chance after a long time of passing through several lives of animals. Thus the animal nature is concentrated in us and the constant presence of beating stick is necessary for us to grow in the right spiritual path. Mere knowledge through words will not bring realization. From this point also avoiding the enjoyment of punishments is also not correct for the spiritual progress. The realized soul invites difficulties for the sake of spiritual progress. An ignorant soul tries to avoid the difficulties and invites happiness by praying God. God brings back the results of good deeds arranged in the future life cycles with reduced value like a pre-matured deposit. By this the future cycle becomes full of misery only. Sometimes we find people who are hit with misery from birth to death. These were the people who pressed God for happiness and their happiness of previous births was the fruits of good deeds drawn from the present life cycle. God arranges every human life with alternating fruits of good and bad deeds like meals with alternating sweet and hot dishes. A liberated soul invites both happiness and misery in alternating way for full entertainment. The happiness derived from such entertainment is continuous and is called as Ananda. Nanda means happiness. The letter ‘A’ before Nanda means continuity (Aasamantaat). The word Sukham denotes happiness which is always temporary. It disappears when misery appears. But Ananda is continuous happiness, if you can enjoy the misery also like a hot dish. A spiritual aspirant who aims at the grace of God wants to perform penance which is a rigorous Saadhana. While doing penance you create difficulties artificially by litting the fire around you. This means spiritual aspirant wants continuous misery as the guiding force. The happiness and richness induce egoism and inertness which are obstacles of spiritual Saadhana. You will wonder to hear the special worship performed by Me sometime back in which I uttered the Sankalpa which states that I should get severe difficulties and

poverty so that Jnana, Bhakti and Vairagya (spiritual knowledge, devotion and detachment) will improve in Me. Thus if you are a realized soul, you will invite difficulties as your spiritual guru. If you are a liberated soul you will invite both for entertainment. If you go to a picture, you like to see scenes of both happiness and misery. When you take meals you like both sweet and hot dishes. Then why are you not inviting both misery and happiness in your life for entertainment? The entire creation created by God for entertainment is a mixture of day & night, summer & winter, birth & death, happiness & misery etc. The equality in the entertainment of both is called as Yoga according to the Gita (samatvam yoga uchyate). At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 337. A wonderful analysis of Astrology in the light of spirituality No doubt horoscope is the telescope for seeing the cycle of deeds. God has already arranged the happiness and misery in alternating way. The periods of nine planets rotate in a cycle. Each period has sub-periods of the nine planets again as a sub-cycle. This means that while eating a sweet dish a secondary hot dish is also introduced. The horoscope is a beautiful arrangement of your deeds in alternating way by the divine Father who has immense affection on the souls. The total period of the nine planets is 120 years. For each Zodiat of birth (Janma raasi) there will be a continuous ascending period of sixty years and another continuous descending period of 60 years. One may be born in the beginning or in the middle or in the end part of ascending period or descending period depending upon his previous interference through rituals. Mesha, Karkataka, Simha, Vrischika, Dhanush and Meena zodiats have the beginning of ascending period of 60 years which ends with the period of Jupiter. For other zodiats the ascending period of 60 years starts with the period of Saturn for 60 years which ends with the period of Venus. Thus one is born with an ascending period of 60 years or with a descending period of 60 years or at any point between these two periods. If a person is born in Mesha, starting with the period of Sun, the 60 years life time is ascending. If the same is born with the period of Saturn, the person will have a descending period of 60 years. A realized soul dragged back the fruits of bad deeds from the present life cycle, will be born in the beginning of ascending periods. If the ignorant soul dragged back the fruits of good deeds from the present cycle, he will be born in the beginning of descending period. If the whole life is with happiness or misery the person will be bored. The reason for such boring is only the person himself who has interfered with the good arrangement of God. Therefore Jesus said that let the will of God happen always. However for ignorant souls also the God made some compensation by introducing the sub-periods of all the nine planets in the main period of each planet. Thus a secondary alternative arrangement of side dishes is done by the Godmother because the children are ignorant of even the technology of eating! Jyotisham (Astrology) is the subject which relates to Jyoti or planet. The actual meaning of Jyoti is only God. According to the Veda (Param Jyotirupasampadyate) and the Brahma Sutras (refer the sutra of Jyotiradhikaranam). Jyoti means light. The planet is like the jailor guiding you to the jail where you will enjoy the misery or is like a guide who

guides you to a bar like heaven where you will drink and sleep. The planet guides you to the fruit of your deed. It is called as Graha which means that it will capture you wherever you are present to deliver the fruit of your deed to you at the exact fraction of second. It is a computerized system of deeds and fruits. This computer does all the calculations and is called as Chitra Gupta. Chitra Gupta means the protector of witness through the audio and a DVD or a photo clip which could very well be a spamer system. All your thoughts, words and deeds are recorded and will be exhibited as witness in the upper world. The judge does not require any type of other witness. There is no need of an advocate and therefore such provision does not exist. You will just see and hear your thoughts, words and deeds in the audio and a DVD or a photo clip which could very well be a spamer system (Chitra Gupta) and an automatic judgment is delivered by another system called as Yama. There is no possibility of doing any ritual there since it is only a place of enjoyment of fruits (Bhoga Loka). All the heavenly pleasures and hell - punishments are given according to periods of another horoscope that is prepared based on the time of death. Thus the wheel of the planets is the executive system of the soul in this world as well as in the upper world. Yama is the son of the Sun like Saturn, is also the controlling powerful planet in the upper world. The Lord is all in all and is the employer of the planets. The planets function due to the fear about Lord. The Veda says the same (Bhishodeti Suryah). Astrologers are like the elementary school teachers and should become spiritual gurus like professors. The priests and the astrologers should rise in their standards and guide the people to the spiritual path. Instead of doing so, both have colluded and are doing business by exploiting the public. The astrologer takes some money for studying the horoscope and recommends the Japam of a planet. The priest does it and gives commission to the astrologers. It is like a doctor referring the patient to the laboratory for diagnosis for getting the commission. The whole spirit is lost and the spiritual path is lost long back in this Kali Yuga. The priests and the astrologers say a story that even Lord Shiva suffered due to Saturn. The story is only a creation for promoting the business. Even if you believe the story, you can take it in positive sense. You can understand that even the Lord respects the cycle of deeds. What sin Lord Shiva did to undergo the affect of Saturn? The story is foolish even at the root. Let us assume that even Lord Shiva has to suffer the affect of Saturn for a bad deed. If that is so, how can an ordinary human being escape the same type of effect with the help of this petty priest and petty astrologer? Astrology is elementary level of spiritual knowledge which introduces the super-natural power that is beyond the science. This should finally lead to the existence of unimaginable God beyond logic and science. Astrology is not allowed to grow to become philosophy by these commercial intellectuals. Its growth is arrested and is limited so that the exploitation of devotees can take place. Astrology should be allowed to become philosophy. The school education should grow to become the university standard. The priests and astrologers should develop to become spiritual gurus. Otherwise they are doing sin in the name of God which will affect them here and there.

The astrologers have developed a wrong concept in astrology by which the people think that they are receiving good or bad affects accidentally by the movement of planets without reference to their deeds. It is just like saying that one is arrested by police on a road because while he was standing on the road, the police incidentally came there and captured him. He is feeling that his arrest was due to the incidental meeting with the police on the road and the arrest happened without any reason. Similarly people are thinking that the bad results are achieved by the incidental movement of the planets and their periods. This is complete nonsense. The planets are very disciplined and regular in their movements. Since you are proved as a thief and your arrest is ordered by the court, the police have arrested you with the exact background. You pose as if you are innocent and the arrest is simply incidental due to movement of police meeting you accidentally. You may escape the police for sometime even after the order from the court, but the planet catches you exactly in the same fraction of second as soon of the order from the divine court is released. In fact the results of deeds of any human being are mainly postponed after the death to the upper world. The results of all your deeds are not given in this world especially when you are in the human life which is very rare. The main aim of this very rare human life is that you should recognize the God and obtain His grace before the end of this human life. This human life is mainly meant for such effort (Saadhana) and therefore this world is called as Karma Loka. You will not be always disturbed with the enjoyment of fruits of your deeds in this world because the main purpose will not be served in this little precious time of human life. When the student is occupied in the studies in the period of preparation for examination, the principal will not disturb him either by punishments or by encouraging cultural activities. Once the examinations are over there is a long vacation time in which these can be take up. Similarly there is lot of time after death and therefore the fruits of the deeds are mainly given after the death in a separate world called as Bhoga Loka. The earth is meant for the karma to be done to recognize the human form of the Lord and get guidance and practice it to please God. Therefore a separate time and a separate world (hell & heaven) are meant for this purpose. People who do not know the main aim of human life and the significance of this karma loka are worried for not seeing the results here itself immediately. This is the main aim of creation of hell and heaven separately as the upper worlds. However the results of some deeds are released here itself in case they can activate the soul in the spiritual line. With such aim certain effects of misery to divert the soul to the God and certain effects of happiness as alternative intervals for encouragement are released. Without understanding the significance of these effects, people either sleep and become lazy in happiness or get worried and feel tensions in misery. When such effects have no use on the spiritual line, the soul is released from the gross body and is pushed to Bhoga Loka and further cycles of animals and birds in a condemned state. Thus the ultimate aim of human life and the ultimate aim of the good and bad results must be realized in the light of the spiritual divine path. This human life is not just for the mechanical deeds and corresponding results like a routine machine.

At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 338. Jesus so cruel? “ Lord Jesus stated that unless one hates his parents, and children, he cannot be the dear disciple of the Lord”. Is this not the cruel statement of God to hate the old parents and just born baby ? The old parents look very pure because the qualities in them are just sleeping due to their weakness. Similarly in the just born baby the qualities are in dormant stage which are ready for germination and therefore the baby looks pure. A old demon and a devil baby look pure and innocent because of the weak qualities or thoughts, which are precipitated in those souls for the past millions of lives. Due to the weak external atmosphere, which is their physical body, the qualities are just sleeping and they are not really pure. Can you love a sleeping snake? The real purity lies only in Lord Jesus or any other such human incarnation of Lord. Except the Lord and the liberated souls which are top devotees, all other souls are impure by the qualities. Are you loving your son only when he is a baby? Are you not continuing your love when he grows? Therefore your love is on your son and not on his babyhood. Are you loving all the babies and all the old people in the world equally? Therefore Jesus (Human Incarnation) asks you to cut your bonds with your parents and not your bond with their old age. Similarly you have to cut your bond with son and not your bond with their childhood. Actually you have no bonds with old age or childhood. If you have real bonds with old age and child hood, you should be loving all the old people and children in the world with equal intensity. The old age and childhood is only a pretext to cover your blind bonds with your parents and your son. The parents and children are not loved by you based on their good qualities and devotion also. Even if they have bad qualities and even if they are not devoted to God, you are loving them blindly because they are related to you by the blood of your body. The blood along with the body is buried or burnt after death. You body is merging with the five elements of this nature after your death. Thus matter of your body enters some other body. Now analyse the meaning of your blood relationship. Jesus gave more importance to devotees than His mother. He told that the devotees are greater than His mother. Sankara left His mother for the sake of God. Prahlada allowed his father to be killed for the sake of the Lord. Buddha left His wife and one year child for the sake of God. Actually God created you and the parental relationships is real in the case of God. The bliss you derive from the Lord is far superior than the momentary happiness you derive from your wife. These relatives cannot protect you accept the Lord. If you analyse, these relationships are proved meaningless, which are illusionary. These bonds are dramatic and are not real. These bonds did not exist before your birth and will not exists after your death. That which did not exist in the past and that which will not exists in the future does not exists in the present also. Two actors are acting like father and son in a drama. Before and after the drama the father-son bond is unreal. Therefore during the time of drama also they are not really father and son. All the actors were, are and will be the employees of the manager of the

drama. This employer-employee relationship with the manager is real and permanent in the case of any actor. Thus the bond with the creator is only real. Jesus always remembered the creator as His father. At the age of 16 He left all His people for the sake of God for a period of 14 years. Your relationship with God is reality and your relationship with your family members is false. Based on this analysis and knowledge you must vote for God, leaving the family. Thus the love for God is based on reason and not based on blind love. Your family members are just equal to any other fellow human being. The dramatic father or dramatic son is as good as any other actor in the drama. Thus you can love your family members as your fellow human beings. You can serve them because they serve you which is just business. From this angle your family members are different from the outsiders. Your real love must be on the Lord in human form like Jesus and on the other devotees who will help you to improve your divine love. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 339. World Religions: Which is The True Religion? If anyone says that his/her religion is the only path to God and that other paths lead to hell, I have one humble question. The question is for every religion without any trace of partiality. The simple question is: Today I have heard your Religion and if I follow that, I reach God and if I refuse I will go to the hell for my own fault. This is very much reasonable. But before your ancestors discovered our country, the literature or even the name of your religion was not known to our ancestor and he could not reach God for no fault of him. But your ancestor reached God through your religion at that time. Even if I assume that my ancestor will take rebirth now and will follow your religion to reach God, such possibility is ruled out because you say that there is no rebirth for the soul. Thus my ancestor suffered forever for no fault of him and the responsibility for this falls on the partiality of God. Had the God been impartial, He could have revealed your religion to all the countries at a time. Had that happened, my ancestor might have also reached God as your ancestor. Therefore your statement proves your own God partial. The only way left over to you to make your God impartial is that you must accept that your God appeared in all the countries at a time in various forms and preached your path in various languages. The same form did not appear everywhere and the same language does not exist everywhere. The syllabus and explanation are one and the same, though the media and teachers are different. Can you give any alternative reasonable answer to my question other than this? Certainly not! Any person of any religion to any other religion can pose this question. Moreover every religion states that their God only created this world. Unfortunately this world is one only and every God cannot create the same world. There are no many worlds to justify that each God created His own world. Therefore any human being with an iota of commonsense has to agree that there is only one impartial God who created this one world and He came in different forms to different countries and preached the same path in all the languages simultaneously at one time.

Let this logic sword of the divine knowledge cut the rigid conservatism of the religious fans in this world to establish the Universal Peace. I need not beg all these religious followers to be united and harmonious to each other for the sake of world peace. Such begging appeals are made enough in the past. The religious fans feel that there is no unity really in the religions but they have to be united since their kind hearts melted by these appeals. Thus a temporary change was only brought. At the maximum one generation of the followers got united. The next generation fights with each other because they feel that there is no real unity in them due to lack of the real unity in their religious scriptures. A permanent solution for this does not lie in the begging appeals, which may or may not unite the followers. Even if the appeals unite such unity is not permanent. If the real unity in all the religious scriptures is exposed through the logical divine knowledge, the followers have to be united for generations together. Therefore, My attack is not on the hearts of the followers through love and kindness. My attack is on all the religious scriptures through intellectual logical analysis of divine knowledge. The unity of hearts through love can be only temporary. The unity of brains through intellectual analytical divine knowledge will be permanent. Hearts agree but brains realize. Agreement is temporary, but realization is permanent. Thus this is My first blow of My divine Conch shell for the permanent unity of all the religions aiming at eternal Universal Peace. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 340. World Peace & Removal Of Terrorism There are two route causes for the entire chaos and terrorism in this world. One is the thirst for earning money and the other is the religious fanatic. Due to money, people are quarreling. Whereas due to religion, countries are quarreling. Unless these two route causes are eradicated we cannot achieve world peace. The tree will not die by cutting leaves and branches. It dies only by cutting its roots. There is no use in earning the extra money. Due to excess money, quarrels, mental worries and several other problems arise. Finally, it ends in loss only and not in any profit. You have to leave all this extra money here only and quit this world alone. Your issues may lose that money given by you. Such sinful extra money brings problems not only to you but also to your children. Neither yourself nor your children will be happy and peaceful. This entire world is the property of God and take whatever is required from it. This is said in Gita, (“Yavanartha….”). In these days, buffet system is followed during feasts. In this system, large vessels contain various food items and people take food from these vessels according to their requirement. Similarly, God created this entire world and you can take the wealth from it according to your requirement. People are not following the same system when they are taking wealth from this world. The peculiarity is that most rich people follow this buffet system in the feasts but do not follow the same when it comes to earning the money. ‘Esavasya Upanishad’ says that one should return back this extra money to the Lord. Otherwise, the Lord will give the troubles.

In buffet system, if one takes extra food in his plate by over ambition and ignorance for a moment, he returns back immediately before starting eating. Veda says that you must return back the extra money for the God’s work if taken by ignorance. In the buffet system if you eat the extra food, you will suffer from diseases. Similarly, if you enjoy the extra money, God will punish you in several ways. In this world, people belonging to any religion think that their religion only is the true religion. They think that the God of their religion can alone give the salvation and the worship of that God should be according to their religion only. They also condemn other religions and invite people to convert people into their religion. They do lot of work to establish their religion only in the entire world which shows their ambition. It is just like Alexander’s ambition to make the entire world his kingdom. Alexander wanted to extend his kingdom. But, even he returned back after fighting with Porus (Purushotama) on seeing the loss of life in the battle. But, the ambition of religious fanatics is not subsided on seeing any amount of loss of life. Religion is considered to be backed with spiritual knowledge and the religious people are expected to be free from ambition. We can excuse ambition of any ignorant person like Alexander. The heart of a religious fanatic will not change by any amount of kindness or love expressed in the appeals. Such appeals can change only the heart and the change in the heart is always temporary. Change in the intelligence brought by knowledge based on logic is always real and permanent. Intelligence (Buddhi) is considered to be the driver of this body, which is like a chariot running by the senses, which are like the horses. If the driver is convinced, the entire chariot along with the horses is in the correct path. The terrorist will not change by love or kindness shown to him. He becomes the terrorist due to the wrong knowledge that enters his brain. He was convinced by that knowledge. That knowledge can be changed only by the right knowledge. A diamond can only be cut by another diamond. Similarly, one type of knowledge can only be replaced by another type of knowledge. Then only, he will be convinced and changed forever. So far, the trials made to change the terrorist were beating around the bush and therefore, they did not have much effect. Today, SRI GURU DATTA is giving the right knowledge to remove the religious conservatism. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 341. Sacrifice Of Wealth Is The Way Matthew–6 : 19 to 22 (Luke - 12 : 33 to 34) “Do not Lay up for yourselves, treasures on earth. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. For where your treasure is there your heart will be also”. Matthew -7: 21 “Not everyone who say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but He

who does the will of My Father in Heaven”. Indians, particularly, are sacrificing words through prayers and feelings through expression of love for the sake of God. When the question of wealth or money comes they sacrifice it for the sake of their families only. This is the reason why India suffers with poverty. Swami Vivekananda wept loudly facing the sky asking; “Why India with such high spiritual knowledge is suffering with poverty?” The foreigners are not so well in prayers and expression of love or meditation compared to Indians but they sacrifice their money for the sake of God with full vigor. Therefore God blesses the foreign countries with wealth and prosperity. Indians sacrifice words and mind only to God. Therefore Indians are blessed with very good pronunciation of language and excellent knowledge, which are connected to the words and mind. Gita says ‘Ye Yatha Mam Prapadyante’ which means that God gives you result in the same way in which you worship Him. If you worship Him with words (prayers) only He will also appreciate you with sweet words. If you love Him with your mind and concentrate with meditation, He will also love you in turn with high concentration of mind. If you sacrifice practically, He will also do everything to you practically. Indians must learn this practical sacrifice from foreigners as they have learnt the science and technology from the West. Even in the olden days, Indians were always doing exercises in theoretical knowledge of God and in composing lot of poems on God. Therefore the same attitude entered even their education of science. They have become theorists even in science. The foreigners were less theoretical and more practical in spiritual things and therefore that attitude entered their scientific education also and the foreigners have become the real practical scientists. Let Indians not be proud that they are the masters in the spiritualism if not in science. Though I am born in India, I deny this. The Indians should follow the foreigners not only in science but also in spiritualism by learning the practical aspect of the materialistic as well as divine knowledge. Today, in the world everybody agrees that the real power is the money only. Money is the fruit of work and Bhagavatgita calls sacrifice of money “Karma Phala Tyaga”. In Bhagavatgita it is said “Dhyanat Karma Phala Tyagah” which means that devotion is greater than Knowledge and sacrifice of the fruit of the work (money) is greater than the devotion. Knowledge consists of intelligence and words. Devotion consists of mind and words. Sacrifice consists of heart and love. The proof of the love is the practical service, which is the practical sacrifice of work or money. For the propagation of the divine knowledge and devotion the money is needed to publish the gospel in the form of books. When you sacrifice your money for the divine work your treasure in the heaven is built up. This means that God will help you after your death and you will enter the kingdom of God. You are giving your earnings to your family only and so your real love is on your family only. There is no need of any further argument on this point because it is very clear proof. This is the real fire test for your love. You are sacrificing valueless words and valueless

mind in leisure, which is valueless time. This cannot prove the real value of God. You must give real value to God. You are finishing your prayers and meditation on God as soon as the time to go to job is nearing. Similarly when some work for the family is approaching, you are immediately leaving the presence of God. Therefore you are not giving any value to God for all practical purpose. But you are telling lies in your prayers that God is everything for you. The money is the final test and it can be the only test also since all the family is associated with you for money only and the family serves you in your old age for your money only. If the money is sacrificed to God your real color of love can be seen. Sage Vasista told Lord Rama to bring money first as Gurudakshina (pious offering to the preacher) before preaching the divine knowledge (‘Dhana marjaya…’). The preacher tested Rama’s Love to God in the light of the sacrifice of money. In Vishnu Purana Lord Vishnu says ‘Tasya vittam Haramyaham’ which means that he who sacrifices money for the sake of God, is really blessed. This looks quite odd for us to wonder whether even God wants money! No. God does not want money because this entire world is His wealth only as per Veda (Kasyasvit Dhanam…). You have taken the money from His treasure for your needs and God permits this. But you have taken extra money also and you are storing it, which is not permitted by God. You have to return back that extra to the Lord when He comes in human form for His divine work. Remember that you are returning His own money, which was stolen by you since He did not permit you to take the extra money. When you have gone to a friend’s house he gave you a cup of milk. He permitted only the milk to be taken by you but not the cup. You have stolen the cup also as the extra, which was not expected by your friend. You have to return back that stolen cup to your friend secretly. Holy Jesus says that when you donate the money to God by one hand the other hand should not know about that donation. Since it is stolen money it should be returned secretly. A father purchased some sweets and gave to his child. The father is asking for one sweet from the child just to test the attitude and the love of the child on him. Even if you are not returning back the God’s money to God, you are leaving that money here only and you are quitting this world with vacant hands. That extra money is left in this world only, which is the bank of the God. The devotee who donates the extra money to God for His divine work is also quitting this world alone with vacant hands. The former is going to Hell as a thief but the latter is going to the Kingdom of God because he returned the stolen money of God. When you are returning this extra money, you must be very careful to see that this money reaches God only and not others. God dwells in two places 1) In the body of human incarnation (Son of God) 2) In the heart of a real devotee. When the money is donated to such God man or the real devotee, that money is properly used to uplift the humanity. In such social service the God-man or the real devotee will use lot of discrimination due to their divine knowledge and the money donated by you will be properly spent. Without the practical sacrifice of money or atleast the work, mere prayers, love and meditation are only the side pickles in the plate without the central bread or rice. When God eats the pickles only which you serve, His stomach is burnt with high acidity and

God becomes furious. Due to His anger the extra money stored by you goes waste through diseases etc., Your children may loose that money also and they are also not blessed in any way in their lives. This gospel of Holy Jesus should open the eye of knowledge of all the Hindus to learn the practical sacrifice from foreigners. Holy Jesus referred to such people who do not give up their extra money for God’s work saying that they can never reach God even if a camel passes through the eye of a needle. His Gospel refers to such selfish rich people only who are caught up in the net of their limited families. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 342. Emphasis Of Karma Phala Tyaga The word karma in the case of a human being means the work done to earn money, which is essential for his food and offering the food to the guest. Money required for the self and his family is called ‘sareera yatra’ in Gita. Money required to prepare food to offer to the guest is called ‘yajna karma’. The word karma in Gita was used in these two meanings in the context of a human being (sareera yatra pichate, yajnah karma samudbhavah). Therefore the fruit of the work means only money. The first mantra of the first Upanishad speaks about enjoyment and sacrifice of money (kasyasvit dhanam). The mantra says that the entire creation is the wealth of the Lord and one should store the money for his minimum enjoyment and the rest should be sacrificed to the Lord who comes in the human form for His mission to uplift this world. The second mantra says that one should continuously work and earn. Vasista said that money is the root of all this worldly family bonds (Dhanamulamidam jagat). When money is absent all the family members will leave you. All the family members and relatives approach you only due to money just like the frogs are present in the tank when it is full of water. The ‘Srichakram’ means the wheel that surrounds the money. Therefore when the sacrifice of money comes into the picture, all the fraud devotees will run away because in their hearts the attraction to the family bonds exists as solidified darkness. Only the true devotees will stand, in whose hearts the darkness is removed and the light of divine knowledge exists. The Lord came in human form and tested ‘Saktuprasta’ in the sacrifice of the food, which is another form of money. In draught he could secure a little flour and he was fasting for the past ten days. He was not tested in any other way of words and mind (japa, parayana, dhyana etc.). A real devotee will stand in this root test and this is the real fire test. If the bond with the money is cut, all the worldly bonds are cut, since money is the root of this whole ‘samsara’. The fraud devotees want to escape this test and therefore interpreted the ‘karmaphala’ as the fruit of prayers, japa, parayana, dhyana etc. The eyes in this world not at all see such fruit. Therefore such fruit of work done by words and mind is unreal. There is no difficulty to sacrifice such unreal fruit. Therefore they misinterpreted the ‘karmaphalatyaga’ as leaving a spoon of water in the plate after doing

such work by words and mind. Some people have fooled the ignorant people by doing such works and get the ‘Gurudakshina’. They are selling the unreal fruit for the real money, by promising that the fruits of their sins will be removed and results of good deeds, which were not done, will be attained. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 343. What do you mean by the ‘Love on the Lord?’ What do you mean by the ‘Love on the Lord?’ It is the real attraction towards the Lord, which is generated and developed by knowledge. It is the mental feeling. It is expressed by words. It is proved by action. Some people think to prove it by mind and words only. They are unable to prove in action and they are covering their inability. They say that meditation meaning an act of mind and chanting or singing meaning an act which is connected with words are the proof of their devotion. But the real love is proved only by action called ‘Karma yoga’, which consists of two parts viz., ‘Karma sanyasa’ and ‘Karma Phala Tyaga’. Karma sanyasa means sacrificing your work for the sake of the Lord. It is pressing the feet of your Guru as an example. This path has the possibility of some tricks. You may press the feet to give exercise to your fingers. You may also be doing the work of the Lord for your food. But if such tricks are not present, it is definitely better than meditation and singing because it is related to action. The second part called ‘Karma Phala Tyaga’ is the real and best proof, which is offering Guru Dakshina. This part applies only to the people who have earned the unnecessary extra money and store with their selfishness. All the money in this world is the wealth of God only. To the extent required by you, is permitted by the Lord. But you are taking extra which is not expected of you. You are given a cup of milk in a house. You can drink the milk when given which is permitted but not to take away the cup. The milk is yours for which the house owner has no objection. You have taken the cup and claim it as yours, then, you are a thief. The first mantra of the first Upanishad (Esa vaasyam) says the same. The Lord is preaching you to return back his extra wealth which was taken by you and which was not granted by him. The Lord is not asking to return back the milk given to you for drinking. He never asks for the sacrifice of your minimum, partly or fully. For example A person is having ten rupees that is his minimum. Another person has one hundred rupees. The first person gave one rupee to the Lord. The 2nd person gave ninety rupees to the Lord. The first person is greater than the second person because the first person has sacrificed even from the minimum. The second person should subscribe at least ninety plus one rupee so as to become equal to the first person. In the case of first person, Sakthi (Power) is less but Bhakti (Devotion) is more. But in the case of the second person Sakthi (Power) is more and Bhakti (Devotion) is less. But the devotees sacrifice even their minimum. Sabari collected some fruits that are required minimally for her daily food. But she offered the entire food to the Lord. Such

sacrifice is not expected from the side of the Lord. But it is done from the side of the devotee. The devotees sacrifice their minimum partly or fully based on the intensity of their devotion. Kannappa sacrificed even his eyes, which is the bare minimum of his body. Even the body is the fruit of ‘Prarabdha karma’. The most essential part of the body is eyes. Prahlada was prepared to sacrifice even his life for the sake of the Lord. For some character and prestige are much higher than the life. Gopikas sacrificed even these for the sake of the Lord. Veda says ‘nothing and none should be equal to the Lord’, (‘NATA SAMAH’). Prahlada sacrificed his father. Sankaracharya sacrificed his mother. Buddha sacrificed his wife, the only son and the entire wealth. Shastras say that the wife, issues and wealth are the three strongest bonds (ESHANAS). For Buddha, God was greater than these three. Meera sacrificed her husband. Gopikas gave the butter to Lord Krishna. Butter was the ultimate fruit of all their daily work. They can sell it in Mathura and get money. They did not give it even to their children. This is the real Karma Phala Tyaga. The simple and total concept in this is that you will give your ‘Karma phala’ to those whom you love the most. All give their karma phala (money) to their own children. So, the Lord is not equal to their children and their highest real love is on their children only. So, Karma Phala Tyaga is the only real fire test to prove the real love. There is no second thought about this. For any test, paper and pen are required. Similarly for karma phala tyaga test, the money and the human form of Lord are required. If you offer the butter to the statue of the God and eat it, that is not real Karma phala tyaga. Though money is not great, but the love proved by the sacrifice of the money is greatest. Veda says ‘Only by Karma Phala Tyaga one attains Lord’ (‘TYAGE NYKE…..). At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 344. Family Bond-Responsibility To Family-Bond With God Gita says ‘Eka Bhakthih Vishishyate’ which means that the person having only one bond with the Lord alone is liberated. The liberation itself means destruction of all the bonds in this world. Without full liberation, one cannot have a strong bond with the Lord. Unless one is completely relieved from the world, one cannot join God. The joining report in the new institution is not possible without complete relief from the previous institution. You cannot partially join the new institution. It cannot be a side employment. Ofcourse such partial bond can be treated as the intermediate stage and is better than no bond. But the aim should not be such partial bond. If you aim at 100 marks, you may get 40 marks and pass. But if you aim at 40 marks only, you will fail. Therefore, let the aim be total liberation from the world and single bond with the God. The bond consists of three parts. The service in terms of sacrifice of work and fruit of work comprises ninety-nine paise[One paise equivalent to one dollar cent]. Love with mind consists of 2/3rd paise. Remembering through words consists of 1/3rd paise. If you take the case of Sankara, he has donated the whole rupee to the Lord. His love for his mother, words to praise mother and service to mother are diverted towards the Lord. He left his mother for the sake of the Lord. He has donated all the one hundred

paise to the Lord. He is the top most beloved of the Lord. He should be our aim. In the beginning stage you cannot divert your work, which is called duty and mental attachment, which is called love to the Lord. At least make a humble beginning by donating the words to the Lord. Go on reading spiritual books and go on chanting his songs. By this you have donated 1/3rd paise to the Lord. Remember that you cannot purchase any item from any shop with 1/3rd paise. Therefore, do not aspire any thing in return from the Lord, for this 1/3rd paise. In the next stage you try to divert your mind towards the Lord, which is 2/3rd paise. Do your duties to your family members, but without mental attachment. Such mental detachment has several added advantages. If one is mentally detached from the family members, he will not be hurt if they insult him in future. He will not be disturbed when their behaviour is not correct. He will not suffer if death attacks them. Such mental detachment brings full peace and balance of mind. Due to this he will be always energetic with good health. Therefore such mental detachment is needed even for an atheist. The detached mind cannot keep silent because it is habituated to the attachment. Therefore, attach the mind to the Lord. Such attachment will always give infinite bliss in the life. When you are successful in attaching the mind to the Lord, you are called as devotee. But a devotee can be disturbed. The devotion becomes firm if his intelligence takes a firm decision through knowledge. Therefore, Knowledge gives firm decision to the intelligence (Buddhi) and this makes the devotion of mind (Manas) to be firm. Therefore, Gita started with Buddhi Yoga or Jnana Yoga in the second chapter. When the mind is fixed on the Lord with the help of the knowledge of the intelligence, the work will naturally change and will follow the mind. The mind is like the king. The words are like his ministers. The intelligence is like his preacher or Guru. The work is like his army. Therefore, with the help of the words the mind should be diverted to the Lord and it is fixed with the help of the intelligence. The words divert the mind, whereas the intelligence fixes the mind. Therefore, when you have donated words and mind to the Lord and when you are strengthened by the spiritual knowledge your duties and responsibilities, which form the work, will naturally be diverted towards the Lord. The work is always inert item and is controlled by the mind and intelligence. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 345. The Greatest Blessing That One Can Get Recall that disciples of Jesus never prayed or meditated on the Lord in human form available to them at that time- Jesus. Our prayers, words and meditation carry only 1% weightage infront of Lord. 99% weightage consists in serving Lord practically in His mission without any expectation when He comes down in human form for preaching the divine knowledge. Disciples of Jesus did the same, and they are called His people, because they showed their love to

Lord in human form by practical sacrifice. Practical sacrifice is the outcome of Love to Lord. Remember that Jesus told" the eye that you see, the ear that you hear are blessed ...because many have tried but did not get this opportunity of interacting with Lord in human form. ' The greatest opportunity and blessing that one can get in this world to become the servant of Lord upon this earth when He comes down in human form. Lord comes in human form in every human generation, beacuse He is impartial. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 346. Meaning of being born again Space, matter, various form of energy like heat, light, work etc., and awareness are just the manifestations of energy only, which is charged by the hidden God. If you add just one single point to this science, all the subject will become philosophy. That single point is that God exists as the source of this energy. In the morning the sun is not seen but the sunlight appears. We should not mistake that the sun light exists independently without the source. Science should realize this point and should not think that the electro magnetic radiations exist independently without the source. God is the hidden source (Brahma Puccham Pratishtha- Veda). In this rebirth attained by sadhana, all the vaasanas (activities of awareness) are related to God only. This is called as re-birth and such a reborn person(Dvija) is the real Brahmana. The word Brahmana has no significance of caste. Such a reborn person can be Brahmana or Kshytriya or Vysya. When all the vaasanas are related to God, the Brahmajnana becomes real and he becomes Brahmana. Kshatriya is famous for dynamism and force. When all the external activities are also surrendered to God he becomes Kshatriya by karma sansya. When all the wealth is also surrendered to God which is the fruit of his works called as karma phala tyaga he becomes Vysya. If a person has no such rebirth and is immersed in the vaasanas of the world only and goes to hell finally for a permanent misery he is called as sudra (sudra means the miseryeffected). Thus these four castes are based on the vaasanas (Guanas) and karma (karma sanayasa and karma phala tyaga are one and the same because the work is converted into its fruit). Therefore Gita says “Guna karma vibhagasah”. Swami Dayananda, who is also human incarnation of God has brought out the significance of this sloka in its real sense and saved Hinduism. But traditional people with jealousy and egoism killed Him by food poisoning as the priests killed Jesus. Sankara was also killed by black magic of an ignorant traditional scholar. Krishna was cursed to death by Gandhari since Krishna established the Dharma. Thus, human incarnations are always effected by jealousy and egoism which is a tradition by itself. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami

347. A comprehensive analysis of all the religions to show their unity The spiritual knowledge should come directly from the Lord. If He sends His messenger, the messenger is not capable of delivering all the points as told by the Lord and is also incapable of explaining in excellent manner as explained by the Lord. Therefore, the knowledge delivered by the messenger is not as excellent as delivered by the Lord directly. This is the main reason for the Lord to enter the human body to preach the divine knowledge. But if the Lord in human body declares that He is the Lord directly speaking, people become jealous because they think the human incarnation as human being only, since they always see the external body only. They misunderstand that the human being is claiming himself as God. They cannot tolerate this due to their inherent jealousy and egoism towards the co-human beings. To solve this problem of majority of the people, the human incarnation has to say that He is only the messenger of God. Prophet Mohammad was really the human incarnation. But he never claimed himself as God due to this problem of majority. He said that He was only the messenger of God and that Q'ran was massage of God. Therefore, this Holy Scripture belongs to the angle of majority. The devotees who can realise the human incarnation are always very few only. To this minority the prophet can personally say that he is God or at least he is son of God. The message to minority need not be recorded, which can be orally delivered in person. Thus, Q'ran is a scripture for the majority. On the other hand Gita was the scripture of extreme minority, since Gita was told to Arjuna only. In Gita, Krishna told that He is the Lord. Here you must realize that the Lord is speaking through the human body of Krishna. In between the Q'ran and Gita lies Bible. Jesus told that He is the messenger of the God, which is the message for the majority. He also told that He is God, which is the message for extreme minority. In between lies the minority for which He said that He is Son of God. Thus, Bible is the message covering all the three phases of public, which are majority, minority and extreme minority. As we pass from one end to the other end in the above order, the egoism and jealousy reduce from 100 to 50 to 0. For majority dualism (Dvaita), for minority (Visista Advaita) and for extreme minority monism (Advaita) are preached by the human incarnation. Thus, in Christianity and Hinduism you can find all the three concepts. But in Islam you can find only Dvaita. You should not mistake that Islam is incomplete due to absence of the other two concepts. The merit in Islam is that no human being can claim himself as God and thus there is no danger of false human incarnation. But in Hinduism and Christianity there is always danger of fraud human incarnations. Again you should not criticize Hinduism and Christianity due to this danger. Assuming the possibility of danger of accident, will you avoid journey by bus or train or aeroplane? Thus, the positive and negative angles must be understood according to the context. However, in Christianity also, the danger is avoided because the Christians do not accept any other human incarnation as God except

Jesus. Hinduism accepts every human incarnation as God. Thus, you can pass from Islam to Christianity to Hinduism. There is no danger in Islam and Christianity. In Islam no human incarnation is accepted. This is extremity to avoid the danger. In Christianity Jesus was accepted as human incarnation but no other human incarnation was accepted to avoid the danger of exploitation of fraud human incarnations. Thus, in Islam the concept was not admitted. In Christianity the concept was admitted but was limited to Jesus only to avoid the danger. In Christianity the statement “Jesus will come again” completes the concept because it indicates that the human incarnation is again possible. Thus, the concept is completed in Bible. But by believing that Jesus comes only at the end of this creation, all the other human incarnations till the end are rejected. Thus, the concept is completed in theory but not completed in practical. In Hinduism the concept is completed in theory as well as in practical. Gita says that Krishna will come again and again whenever it is necessary (Yadayadahi..). This means that the human incarnation will come again and again in several places and in several religions in even one human generation, because there is necessity for such facility. Thus, in Hinduism the concept is completed in theory and practical, but the danger is always full. Thus, Hinduism recognises several human incarnations of Lord Datta (Krishna) as in the case of Sri Pada Vallabha, Sri Narasimha Saraswati, Sri Akkalkota Maharaj, Sri Sai Baba, etc. Hinduism recognises Buddha also as the human incarnation. Broad minded Hinduism recognises even Jesus, Mohammad, Mahaveer etc., also as human incarnations born in different religions. The universal spirituality is such broad minded Hinduism which is the broad minded Christianity, the broad minded Islam, the broad minded Buddhism and broad minded science. The Universal Spirituality contradicts and is prepared to argue with all religions limited with conservatism, provided these religions are prepared to accept the truth with open mind. The science with conservatism is atheism. When you realize all the three religions, namely Hinduism, Christianity and Islam, you will achieve the total concept, which is the universal spirituality. All the religions are different angles of the same central concept. You must observe the centre through all the angles from all the sides. Then only you can realise the total comprehensive central concept. Now you must see through the angles of Buddhism and science also. Buddhism speaks about the God present in the human incarnation by keeping silent about God. Silence means that God is beyond words and imagination. It does not indicate the absence of God. Buddhism is misunderstood as atheism. The time wheel (Kala Chakra) and the revolving bright wheel (Sudarsana Chakra) indicate that the time is constantly moving and that you will meet the death certainly one day or other. It indicates that you should hurry in detaching yourself from the world and that you should attach to the Lord as early possible. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 348. Whether The Soul is Imagination of Lord?

Sri Dattaji: You say the world is not real, and is only the imagination of Lord only. Then it has to mean that all the souls are also not real and are the imagination of Lord only since we are part and parcel of the creation. Swami: The five elements are real. These five elements are transformed into energy. Such energy is finally real from the point of the soul. Similarly when all the qualities subside in the awareness, like the waves in water, the qualities are also unreal. The subtle body is made of these qualities. Only awareness is real and not the subtle body. Matter is the material of the gross body along with some forms of inert energy like light, heat, sound etc. Awareness is the ‘material’ present in qualities. Matter, energy and awareness are real items for the soul. These three can be considered as the cause of all forms and qualities of the world. These three ultimately are forms of energy alone and energy is the ultimate cause. Matter, awareness and forms of inert energy like light, heat etc. are considered as the secondary forms of the ultimate cause (energy). The ultimate and secondary forms of the cause are real for the soul. The soul itself is awareness, which is a secondary form of the cause. Therefore, for the soul, awareness and other secondary forms (matter and other forms of inert energy) cannot be unreal since they are on an equal plane. The soul is on an equal plane with these forms. But the forms of matter and awareness, which are the external (beauty) and internal (qualities) personalities, are unreal and just illusions. The attraction itself is a feeling and when its objects like beauty and qualities, are also unreal, such attraction is complete ignorance. Now the internal personality may be more valid than the external beauty, because of its subtle nature. Yet the internal personality [made of the qualities] is unreal. The Veda says that the effect, like the pot, is unreal and the cause (mud) is real (Mruttiketyeva…). This means that matter, like the mud, is real, but the form, like the pot, is unreal for the soul. When the Veda says that the pot is unreal and the mud is real, here the mud-pot is [itself part of] the concept and not a simile because the mud-pot itself is a part of the world. The binding energy of the mud particles in the pot, which is the extra item in the pot, is negligible compared to the clarity of the mud particles [which are easily seen] and is considered as almost unreal (Mithya). The invisible binding energy and the visible mud (matter) are inter-convertible and therefore the word ‘mud’ itself includes the binding energy. The matter, energy and awareness (a form of energy only) are real for the individual souls and hence the world made of these three items is not unreal. But, for God, the total world is unreal. However, for both God and individual soul, the common world consisting of these unreal bonds is unreal, which is the basis of the entertainment. You can entertain with unreal items only. The entertainment is not at all based on matter, energy and awareness, which are the three uniform phases without any difference. The difference only causes the design and brings the limits causing the individuality. The homogeneous single phase of cosmos (since matter, energy and awareness are inter convertible resulting in the final single phase of cosmic energy) is called as Brahman, in the form of creation (Karya Brahman) and this cannot give any entertainment. If you try to analyze God (Karana Brahman), it is also homogeneous phase of unimaginable entity.

Shankara represented God by this single phased cosmic energy in the form of awareness (awareness is a special work form of energy) or Karya Brahman. This clearly means that neither Karya Brahman is God nor God charges Karya Brahman homogeneously. If such charging takes place, there is no difference between seer and seen. Such charging takes place in the case of human incarnation because if an individual soul is charged by God, such human incarnation can be the seer of the rest uncharged world (cosmic energy). At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 349. One cannot catch God unless one know that God is beyond qualities I am Brahmin-saint as Shankara. I came as untouchable. I can pervade any medium. Nothing can resist Me at all. State, caste, sex and age are the qualities of external medium. These belong to the outer most sheath; the visible gross body. Even subtle and causal bodies are beyond the gross body, not to speak of Me, who is beyond even subtle and causal bodies. Various qualities result when three qualities mix in various ratios. All these qualities constitute subtle body. I am beyond subtle body. I am beyond even causal body, which is beyond subtle body. You cannot decide Me by qualities also. I drink wine always. I am roaming in the area of prostitutes. You cannot catch Me unless you know that I am beyond the subtle body or qualities. Even if you catch Me I will exhibit terrible bad qualities so that you will run away. Unless you are firm of this knowledge. You have passed the first test. If you realize Me beyond gross body this is the first quarterly test; to realize that I am not having the properties of gross body like birth, hunger, thirst, death etc. The properties of My gross body impress upon your mind constantly that I am born, [I am] hungry, [I am] thirsty and finally die like any human being. Even Jeevatman, the pair of subtle and causal bodies is beyond such properties of gross body. I am beyond Jeevatman. In the half yearly test you will face the impression that I am Jeeva. You qualify Me as good and bad through the qualities exhibited. The causal body or soul is beyond the subtle body or qualities. I am beyond the soul and I am not qualified by any quality. Now the final annual test to think Me as the causal body or soul. Followers of Advaita fail finally in this year-ending examination. For them soul is God and hence they treat Me as the causal body. Since soul is imaginable item, I am the unimaginable in anyway. I am beyond the soul. This is the final picture about Me. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami 350. How to recognize God here as well as in the upper world? The three faces of Datta stand for the three basic qualities that represent subtle body or Jeeva. The six hands represent the six changes in gross body like existence, Birth etc. The gross body is outer most cover. Inner is subtle body, and innermost is causal body, which is pure awareness.

How to get rid off repulsion between the common media so that we recognize God here as well as in the upper world? Setup a training here itself. Treat every human being as God. Avoid the exploitation of yourself by others in such training. Treat all good devotees, good people and poor only as God. Filtering the tricky and evil people be analytical always. Remove three types of ego – scholastic, dynamic and decisive. Now you are Atri, father of Datta, meaning devoid of three [qualities]. Remove jealousy or Asuya. You become Anasuya now, the mother of Datta. Datta is God in human form, who donated Himself to Atri and Anasuya here. It means God in human form gets donated to you. If you get rid of ego and jealousy completely here itself. At the Lotus Feet of His Holiness, Sri Dattaswami
