Totalitarian powers (Germany, Italy, Japan), Nationalism, Treaty of Versailles, League of Nations, appeasement, Isolationism and pacifism. Writing letters to World War II veterans.
Short answer quiz per lesson. 40 question multiple choice end of unit examination. Grading final copy of letters.

Have students create study cards. Pose a question regarding a key concept on the front of the card and have the answer to the question on the back of the card.
Have students create a movie strip illustrating a sequence of events that occurred during World War II.
Have students create snapshots; a recall device that shows students how to define key terms through illustration. Drawing pictures that will associate an image with a term.
Have students create acronyms or mnemonic devices to remember key terms.
