What I need to develop Records Management: I set-up and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with regulations and standards. I establish and maintain accurate business records including financial, business, equipment and client appointment records. I establish and maintain an effective filing system whether manual or computer based adhering to protection and security procedures. Client Assessment: I examine the client by observing gait, posture, signs of pain and general well being. I apply regional assessment techniques. I perform special tests including: Orthopedic Neurological Circulatory Applying Treatments: I apply appropriate techniques, within the scope of practice, for the treatment of: Inflammation and repair Nervous system (e.g. flaccidity, spasticity, neuritis, upper/lower motor neuron lesions) Immune conditions (e.g. RA, SLE) Reproductive conditions (e.g. secondary treatment of symptoms Skeletal conditions (e.g. OA, scoliosis, fractures) Pre/post natal care

How will I learn it? 1. Take a business course to help develop my organizational skills and learn how to file records. 2. Ask for help from peers in showing me their own organizational skills/techniques 3. Get help from peer tudors

1. Take a course on assessing clients to develop my observational skills 2. Get help from teachers by assessing possible scenarios with mock clients. 3. Practice orthopedic, neurological and circulatory tests with peers.

1. Read books on all techniques. 2. Practice these techniques with peers and ask for feedback. 3. Pre-read all pages relevant to techniques class for the day. 4. Take extra courses in the summer to keep in practice.

Pathology: I understand the reactions of the body to injury such as: Cellular adaptation/tissue responses Neoplasia/anaplasia Cellular degeneration/necrosis I understand the pathophysiological process of: Inflammation and repair Immune pathologies (e.g. RA, HIV) Skin pathologies (e.g. lipoma, atopic dermatitis) Fluid and electrolyte imbalances (e.g. hypokalema) Infectious diseases (e.g. hepatitis, tuberculosis) I understand pain, pain theories and pain referral theories.

1. Take a pathology class. 2. Read all texts relevant to these pathologies. 3. Study pathologies with peers.
