Simon & Schuster UK are asking YOU to design us a bag for you and your mates to carry around your books. We’ll also use the bag everytime we give away books and goodies at festivals, events, schools and more – people will see YOUR design on our bag! TOP AUTHOR Sophie McKenzie and the Simon & Schuster Art Director will be on the judging panel! The overall winner and three runners up will also win a set of cool books!

The design should be based around a theme of ‘urban fantasy’, inspired by books such as The Demon’s Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan (where brothers are on the run from evil magicians), The Medusa Project by Sophie McKenzie (four teens with supernatural powers), and Everlost by Neal Shusterman (two friends are stuck halfway between death and the afterlife).

1. The design must be black only. 2. It must include the words SIMON AND SCHUSTER somewhere. 3. If designed digitally, your entry must be submitted as a high resolution (300dpi) jpeg. If designed in a non-digital format it should be easy to scan (i.e. 3D entries will not work!). 4. The design must be no bigger than 203mm x 203mm. 5. The rest is up to you!

The competition will close on 31.01.10 and the winner will be announced by 28.02.10! Your stylish bag design could be the envy of all your friends by next summer! Terms & Conditions: 1. This competition is open to all UK residents under the age of 16. Only one entry per person is allowed. 2. Bag designs must contain the words Simon And Schuster or will not be considered. 3. The winning design will be used for a print run of bags. S&S may then change the design. 4. Three runners up will win a set of the following books: The Demons’ Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan, The Set-Up by Sophie McKenzie and Everlost by Neal Shusterman .The prize is as stated and is non-transferable. No cash alternative will be offered. 5. The judges reserve the right to withdraw the prize should there be no suitable or appropriate design submitted; in this circumstance no bags will be printed. 6. The judges decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. 7. Your data will be used for the purpose of this offer and will be destroyed thereafter. We will not pass on your data to any third parties. 8.
