Training of Subject Teachers under Digital Equalizer (DE) Program
The AIFT’s DE(Digital Equalizer) Program is 3-year program is underprivileged schools in India serving children in grades 6th through 10th .The DE program helps in imparting computer skills through activity based learning that is integrated with the school curriculum thereby improving subject matter expertise through the use of technology. In line with the Mou ,the AIFT has launched the Digital Equalizer (DE) program from 1 st may 2006 in 200 schools and from April 2007 in 400 schools. Under the program training is imparted to students as well as the subject teachers of the selected schools. The duration wil be the Four Hours i.e two periods will be devoted to subject teachers and three periods for the students. All the D.E.O’s of the selected districts are requested to ensure the following 1.
All the subject teachers should attend the DE class regularly every Friday. They also have to complete the tasks assigned to them under the program such as preparing projects based on mapping of difficult tpics for the students. It will facilitate in successful implementation of DE program in the state. 2. Undertake at least one period with the students using PBL method every fifteen days. This will help the students in not only concept clarity but also find it interesting. 3. Regular attendance of the subject teachers should send by the Principals /In charge to their respective DEO’s every month. 4. Monthly test of subject teachers will be undertaken by the computer teachers and DE co-coordinators placed in the schools in order to gauge their level of understanding. ------sd--------Dy.
