FINANCIAL Weekly Requirements for May: Received last week: Received for May:

The Agnus Dei, or Lamb of God, symbol typically shows a lamb, holding a cross or a flag or both. The Agnus Dei probably goes back to 5th century Rome. In Christian symbolism, the lamb represents Jesus, "the lamb of God." Standing with a cross, the lamb represents the passion and death of Christ. Standing with a banner, it represents the risen Christ triumphant over death.

PRAYER TIME Feel free to pray at the altar or your seat.

Revelation 5:11-13 RESPONSIVE SCRIPTURE Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel: for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight; for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young- let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance- for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. We are very proud of all those who are graduating from various levels of education. May 24, 2009, we will be recognizing the Valley Mills High School seniors and their families in the morning worship service. That evening, Baccalaureate services will be in the sanctuary of First Baptist Valley Mills at 7 p.m. Since life is not all about academics, we are happy to do our part to help the seniors spiritually by giving each one a Bible. It is our prayer that the graduates will use it just as the proverbs above state, for wisdom, discipline, insight, and doing what is just and fair. With these Bibles go our prayers that they will help each graduate continue to grow spiritually. Good Luck to all GRADUATES, and as always, Praying for you, John
