Lesson Aims:  Discuss acoustic and thermal insulation  Sketch the trimmings around openings in floors  Complete group discussion on airtightness and accommodating services

Learning Outcomes:  Link acoustic and thermal insulation to the construction on building site  Comprehend the names and places of trimmings around an ope in upper floor through sketching on mood board  Produce a productive discussion on airtightness and accommodating services

The Lesson:  Learning outcomes discussed (2 min) (O)  Recap on functions, features, rigidity and securing the joists (6 min) (L,O,G,GI,MA)  Class dialogue on both styles of insulation (thermal and acoustic) properties etc (8 min) (G,CL,N)  Students discuss trimmings for opes with class. Sketch the placement of these on mood boards and label key terminology which is added to word wall (7 min) (G, O, MA, GI)  Students engage in class discussion taking note of airtightness and accommodation of services (10 min) (MA,G,N,CL,C&I)  Recap on lesson using each one teach one (each student is given topic and must explain to their neighbour) and exit cards on what they learned (6 min) (O,CL,MA)  Clean up and closure of lesson (2 min)
