Program Example (Maine) • PSAT and SAT preparation program • College Ready Maine, a dual enrollment program, aiming at preparing high school students for the college readiness and college success. The program is initiated by the University of Maine System. The program focuses on five core academic areas: English, math, laboratory science, history and social science and foreign language. (College Ready, 2009) • Early College Program designed to expose students to postsecondary coursework during high school and provide additional support (e.g. Scholarship) and personalized advising to ensure success and increase students’ college-going rate (Lerner, 2006) .

Relationship Between Criteria and (CR) Program (Tech Prep Maine) • All Maine high school juniors, including all students in their 3rd year of high school, will be Comprehensiv required to take SAT tests in critical reading, writing, and mathematics. e Assessment • A program of preparation and assessment that includes both PSAT and SAT tests is available to all System Maine students.
