It connects the student with his surrounding as well as the Islamic culture through vocabularies and its teaching approach, which exposed task based. Students are through the following learning strategies: classifying, matching, discovering, selective reading, and guided writing and speaking, in their learning enhancing.
Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are to: 1. Understand simple conversations in Arabic speaking. 2. Apply reading and writing skill in short sentences, simple paragraphs and basic grammatical structures. 3. Demonstrate confidence to develop and improve basic Arabic skills.
Learning Outcomes
Upon the completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. recognize Arabic letters, short and long vowels. 2. interpret simple instructions and types of expressions in Arabic conversations. 3. interpret general , specific and unfamiliar words. 4. use Arabic phonetics with different intonations and stress 5. use simple vocabulary items and expressions in appropriate grammatical forms in daily conversations 6. use contextual clues to gather meaning of unfamiliar words 7. write Arabic letters individually to form simple words and sentences. 8. use appropriate words to form short sentences and eventually to produce a paragraph. 9. use simple language effectively in different social settings.
