Scope and Principle 

 

Provide engineering and engineering research, evaluation and development for highly complex and technical products. Using the application of engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Design, development, tests and verification of complex engineering tasks in electrical, mechanical, optical, software, systems, and/or hardware components. Work & encompass a wide range of sophisticated engineering, manufacturing, quality and application problem resolutions. The role involves design, development, manufacturing and/or testing assignments related to products and systems including the engineering of new products or updates to existing products.

Competency & Work Performance 

Investigation, analysis and solutions to technical problems encountered by engineering services, quality control, marketing, procurement and manufacturing departments using the application of engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

Plan design layouts in order to study the operation, select major components, assure conformance to functional and operating requirements, and determine the optimum location and arrangement from an engineering, manufacturing and maintainability standpoint.

Coordinate the assigned design task with related portions of the project and optimizes the design to insure economy and complete system compatibility.

Supply Chain and Logistics 

Consultations with Supply Chain and Logistics to insure conformance to all logistics requirements of the project.

Assure compliance with good engineering practices and procedures.

Analyses engineering plans and projects to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests; analyses proposals and related technical data to develop design alternatives.

Engineering Plans & Projects Analyses of engineering plans and projects to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests; analyzes proposals and related technical data to develop design alternatives.

Investigating problem areas and initiating corrective measures relating to the interpretation of technical data and the functioning of equipment during prototype construction or manufacturing phases and field installation.

Progress Reports 

Prepare progress reports relating to assignments as required.

Interphase with vendors to discuss physical and performance characteristics of proposed parts, components, and equipment for application to assigned equipment.

Prepare specifications and design parameters for equipment to be designed and/or built by subcontractors.

Design Reviews  

Participates in design reviews. Participates in the preparation of engineering estimates for new business bids and proposals as requested. Prepare and provides technical data to other engineering sections for contractors and vendors for utilization in support activities.

Core Key Assignments 

Perform special assignments as requested. Perform other assignments which are normally related to the work of higher or lower engineering classifications.

Develop and implements test procedures while selecting appropriate / component.
