NOTE: Within an hour or so of posting this message, someone came to my current residence and began shooting at the building. I put in a call to 911 when I heard the bullets hitting building and/or wrought iron fence or dumpster. I'd also like it noted that the officer I spoke with claimed to be taking my information (phone number, address, etc.) so that he could file a report. Well he didn't, instead my building gets fired upon. It is my belief that a lot information relevant to this cyberstalking situation is being exchanged on this board. [Posted to the Sanctuary http://stalkingvictims.com/boards/] Conspiracy (a legal definition) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------By MariA on Monday, November 30, 1998 - 09:28 pm: I have tried unsucessfully, many times to get various police departments to take a stalking report. Today, I was thrown out of the Inglewood Police Station. I guess I wasn't asking for the right type of report. [Taken from Black's Law Dictionary, 6th Edition] Conspiracy. A combination or confederation between two or more persons formed for the purpose of committing, by their joint efforts, some unlawful or criminal act, or some act which is lawful in itself, but becomes unlawful when done by the concerted action of the conspirators, for the purpose of using criminal or unlawful means to the commission of an act not in itself unlawful. A person is guilty of conspiracy with another person or persons to commit a crime if with the purpose of promoting or facilitating its commission he (a) agrees with such other person or persons that they or one or more of them will engage in conduct which constitutes such crime or an attempt or solicitation to commit such crime; or (b) agrees to aid such other person or persons in the planning or commission of such crime or of an attempt or solicitation of such crime. Model Penal Code, § 5.03. Crime of conspiracy is distinct from the crime contemplated by the conspiracy (target crime), Com. v. Dyer, 243 Mass. 472, 509, 138 N.E. 296, 314, cert. denied, 262 U.S. 751, 43 S.Ct. 700, 67 L. Ed. 1214. Some jurisdictions do not require an overt act as an element of the crime, e.g. Com v. Harris, 232 Mass. 588, 122 N.E. 749. A conspiracy may be a continuing one, actors may drop out, and others drop in; the details of operation may change from time to time; the members need not know each other or the part played by others; a member need not know all the details of the plan or the operations; he must, however, know the purpose of the conspiracy and agree to become a party to a plan to effectuate that purpose. Craig v. U.S., C.C.A.Cal., 81 F.2d 816, 822.

There are a number of federal statues prohibiting specific types of conspiracy. See, e.g. 18 U.S.C.A. § 371. Chain conspiracy. Such conspiracy is characterized by different activities carried on with the same subject of conspiracy in chain-like manner that each conspirator in chain-like manner performs a separate function which serves in the acomplishment of the overall conspiracy. Bolden v. State, 44 Md.App. 643, 410 A.2d 1085, 1091. Civil conspiracy. The essence of a "civil conspiracy" is a concert or combination to defraud or cause other injury to person or property, which results in damage to the person or property of the plaintiff. I guess this answers a question I asked in another post. (to be continued) -----------------------------------------------------------------------By Cynthia (Public user) on Monday, November 30, 1998 - 11:34 pm: I live near Inglewood, for what that is worth. If you tried to tell the police what sort of report to write, they usually don't like that. In my first efforts to get the police to take my reports, including conspiracy, they concluded I was paranoid and delusional. My lawyer wrote out a sworn statement that this was defamation as they had no training in psychology. They later had me interviewed by a police psychologist, who told them that I was being stalked by the person I suspected in her trained opinion, and was not paranoid. They then closed the case - as this was not what they wanted to hear. -----------------------------------------------------------------------By MariA on Tuesday, December 1, 1998 - 04:03 pm: Hi Cynthia, Would it have been a better idea for me to explain what's been going on and ask them what type of report can be filed? I don't have a problem at all with the asking part, as a matter of fact I've asked several ot them to tell me what is required of me so that I can give them whatever it is they need to help me. To be honest, I think it was probably more due to the fact that I mentioned that some of the parties that are engaging in the specific behavior covered by the definition happen to be police officers. And I also mentioned the fact that a Compton police officer had been

stalking my cousin in me many years ago and that we were interviewed by someone from Internal Affairs. After this interview, Inglewood PD came out to our building with canines and did a search underneath the building. I left the country sometime later to spend the holidays with my boyfriend at the time. While away, my health improved, I picked up some of the weight that I had lost and generally felt like myself again. But as soon as I returned home, the situation began taking a toll on me again. I eventually moved out because of it even though I had resisted doing so for a long time because I didn't like the thought of leaving my cousin and children still in that situation. The Inglewood officer could also have gotten upset because I was video taping our encounter, even though he asked me from the beginning it [if] what I had was a video camera and if it was on (I told him yes on both counts). Anyway, within an hour or so of posting the Conspiracy message, someone in front of my building began shooting (directly out front). I've been trying to tell them for the longest that the situation that I've been explaining is very real, but they refuse to hear what I'm saying. Also one of the officers was saying that I need to give them everything I have. I have boxes of stuff to document and backup the events that have been occuring but trying to turn over information to someone at the front desk doesn't make much sense to me. To a detective that would be willing to investigate the case, yes. But initially, I don't see how. If this is incorrect, then someone please explain it to me. -----------------------------------------------------------------------By MariA on Tuesday, December 1, 1998 - 04:14 pm: Cynthia, Something I left out. I've had different officers tell me that what is being done is illegal, while others tell me that it is legal (harassment, following, etc.). I also had one of the detectives tell me that I should have reported the activities of what specific people are doing while it was occuring, not after the fact. Well I tried. I went to the LAPD stalking unit downtown to try to report the activities of my classmates, but they said I needed an appointment. I tried to call and make an appointment and was told I don't meet their criteria. As far as what's going on to date, they're saying that it's not illegal, but a civil matter. And regarding my request for an Interal Affairs application, I was told by one of the people in ICOPS that it had to be filled out at the front desk and couldn't leave the station

because it's a legal document (I have the application, I was not made to fill it out at the station). So this is how I ended up posting the conspiracy message last night. I had seen the definition before and knew, I suppose on a subconcious level, that this is what has been going on, specifically when something that is legal, becomes illegal when carried out as a such. The online medium is the perfect vehicle for executing and perpetuating a situation such as this.
