COMMUNICATION Communication is defined as the sharing or exchange of messages, facts, opinions, ideas or attitudes and emotions between a sender and receiver or between two or more people.

Communication is meaningful interaction. -Information sharing. -Understanding. -Satisfying concept. -Fundamental requisite of life. Effective communication=Receipt of message + Understanding +Acceptance +Action

Objective of effective communication Convey information-instructions, policies, procedures etc. Better decision making. Better job performance. Motivation and Direction.

TYPES OF COMMUNICATION  Upward Communication. Information flows from subordinates to superiors. ex:Appeals, complaint systems, counseling sessions.  Downward Communication Information flows from higher level to lower level. ex: Pamphlets, policies, letters.  Horizontal Communication Information flows in the same levels. ex: Different department meetings, company newspaper or magazine and bulletin board.

Verbal Communication Some lectures with different mediums like handouts, transparencies, films. Non-Verbal Communication Communication using gestures or actions. Oral Communication Immediate feedback and face to face interaction. Written Communication Communication with any written materials.
