Designs and constructs large relational databases. Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database. Develops data modeling. Integrates new data with existing warehouse structure and continuously improves how the system functions. Cleans and maintains the database by removing and deleting old data. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Designs, develops and manipulates databases, data warehouses and

multidimensional databases. Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. Capable of leading and directing the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department Database Administrator Candidates must possess breadth and depth of data base knowledge in UDB™, DB2™, Oracle™, SQL Server™ or Terradata™. Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the organization database. Applies knowledge of data base management system best practices. Designs, maintains and implements test, development and production databases. Performance and tuning of test, development and production data bases. Performs batch and online performance, tuning and monitoring of databases. Reviews description of changes to data base design and programs. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Establishes physical data base parameters. Codes data base descriptions and specifies identifiers of data base to DBMS. Modifies data base programs to increase processing performance. Calculates optimum values for data base parameters. Directs programmers and analysts on making changes to DBMS. Disaster Recovery and business resumption planning and implementation. Develops technical documents for support processes. Specifies user access levels. Interacts with users to identify requirements and answers user questions. Trains/mentors junior staff. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Systems Architect The system architect must possess extensive knowledge and skills in network infrastructure, server platforms, middleware, software development and client platforms. Interfaces with stakeholders and users to determine systems needs. Understands and applies new and varied systems and software architecting and engineering tools. Exhibits knowledge of database systems and architecture data model development and implementation. Generates high level systems requirements. Determines user’s needs. Ensure requirements are complete, scalable and defined. Performs cost-benefit analysis on how requirements can best be met. Develops partitioning algorithms to allocate requirements into discrete partitions to ensure minimal communications between partitions, users and the system. Partitions of large systems into successful subsystem layers and components to be handled by a single engineer or architect. Ensures the development of a robust architecture. Generates acceptance tests with designers, test engineers and user to determine that all high level requirements are met. Generates sketches, models, user guides and prototypes Business Systems Analyst  Displays   multiple   skills   and   knowledge   levels   by   combining   business 

analyst   skills   with   background   in   database   administration,   data  architecture,   systems   architecture   or   other   senior   level   skill   levels.  Reviews,   analyzes,   and   evaluates   business   systems   and   user   needs.  Formulates   systems   to   parallel   overall   business   strategies.   Writes  detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required  to develop or modify computer programs. Requires a bachelor's degree in  area   of   specialty   and   6­8   years   of   experience   in   the   field   or   in   a  related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices,  and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and  accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work  of   others.   A   wide   degree   of   creativity   and   latitude   is   expected.  Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department
