Assessments

Shows a complete and thorough understanding of the subject matter. Can dialogue not only the facts, but also how they impact daily living. Is helpful in teaching these concepts to others.

Shows complete knowledge of the subject matter. Takes time outside of class to work with the content (homework). During class, practices and applies content and principles.

Struggles with some concepts. Makes a minimal effort to follow and understand content, investing only time in class for understanding. Rarely practices concepts during class time.

Consistently scores low on assessments. Makes no effort to understand concepts, during class or outside of class. Regularly exhibits off-task behavior.

Homework & Classwork

Finishes homework and exceeds the requirements of the assignment. If they didn’t understand the purpose of the assignment, they asked questions. Teacher comments were used to make the work better.

Finishes all homework assignments and fulfills requirements. Makes an effort to understand the assignment.

Does not finish all assignments or their requirements. Little or no effort is made during class to understand the purpose of the assignment or to complete classwork.

Starts a few homework assignments, but little is actually completed. Makes no effort to understand the assignment. Refuses to complete in-class assignments.

Always follows classroom rules and procedures without complaint or reminder. Volunteers to help in the management of class and to demonstrate skills or techniques.

Consistently follows class rules and procedures. May need to be occasionally reminded, but does not reject the authority and structure of the classroom. Shows respect for: self, others, & classroom.

Student has occasional moments of disrespect for the classroom or other students. Needs to be repeatedly reminded to follow rules. Exhibits occasional outbursts against class rules or procedures or other students.

Respectfully cooperates when called upon by the teacher.

Exhibits begrudging cooperation with the teacher and class rules.

Consistent disdain for the educational process, exhibited by: Disrespect for Classroom Fails to obey class rules & procedures or take care of equipment; Disrespect for Others Insults, demeans, or harasses other students; is defiant to adults. Stubbornly and willfully rejects instruction from the teacher.

Participates daily with enthusiasm. Encourages others to take part.

Participates on a daily basis. Does not need to be reminded or encouraged.

Sporadic participation. Does not exhibit internal motivation and consistently requires admonishment from teacher or other students to participate.

Student consistently finds a distractions or reasons to not take part. Fellow students complain of non-participation and do not wish to work with them. Overall impression is of nonparticipation.

Shows exceptional fitness, above and beyond classmates. Fitness levels are exemplary for age and grouping.

Is physically fit. Meets all criteria in fitness tests to be classified as healthy.

Has a mixture of fitness-test results: fit in some areas, lacking in others.

Personal fitness is completely lacking. Fails to perform at an acceptable level on a majority of assessments.

Can repeat required skills without prompting or correction.

Can perform all required skills without cues.

Can perform some required skills without correction or cues.

Cannot perform required skills without correction and additional opportunities.
