CIRM, the UK and Canada to Announce Over $200 Million in Grants to Develop Stem Cell-Based Therapies The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, the state stem cell agency, along with international partners in Canada and the UK will announce more than $200 million in funding for grants to develop new stem cell-based therapies at a press conference on October 28 at 11am PT. These grants are the first CIRM Disease Team Awards, which are expected to result in filing to begin a clinical trial within four years or less. Speakers will include:
