Circular to Parents 86/09/10 PY & Primary Students 3 December 2009 SMART CARD SYSTEM FOR MEAL REDEMPTION To enhance efficiency of service, the Student Card will be used for meal redemption starting from late January 2010. During the Christmas break, our caterer, LSG, will install a smart card reader in the canteen for reading of individual student’s meal order. Please note the following for your information: 1. During lunch time, the students will tap their Student Card on the smart card reader which will show the meal ordered for the day. They will then proceed to the respective serving counter, namely “A”, “B”, “C” and “D”, for meal collection. 2. For students who forget to bring their Student Card to the canteen, they will need to register with the LSG staff before meal redemption. 3. For students who have not pre-ordered their meals, they will be required to tap their Student Card on the smart card reader for record before meal redemption. LSG will then send the bill to the parents concerned for payment. 4. LSG will issue the original paper meal order cards to the students in February 2010 at the initial stage of implementation of the smart card system. With effect from March 2010, no paper meal card will be issued to the students. Please remind your child to bring the Student Card to school every day. 5. There will be no change to the monthly pre-order system. The monthly meal order form will be distributed to the students via the Form Teachers by the second week of the month for meal order for the following month. To familiarize the students with the smart card system for meal redemption, LSG, will conduct a trial run from 7 to 17 December 2009 to simulate the actual operation during lunch time. We shall then feedback to LSG should there be any necessary improvement to the system. We have briefed the students on the above arrangement during assembly. receive the letter from LSG for your information.
