CHANGE MANAGEMENT: Change Management is IT Service Management discipline. It ensures the standardized methods and procedures for efficient and prompt handling of all changes to controlled IT infrastructure, in order to minimize the change impacts. In precise, it maintains the proper balance between the need of change and the potential harmful impact of changes.

Before making any kind of change IT group takes permission from Management, which in turns reads the response of Users. If users say “yes” then IT group gets permission to change. This reduces the impact of change, because everyone is convinced to adopt the change. Change Management is major concern for the manager, as question comes to the management if any odd things happen to the system. So, Management will try to implement it at any cost. Hardware



Network



Storage : EMC, HITACHI, IBM, HP, SUN



Security: SUDO, POWER BROKER



Backup : Net Backup, IBM TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager)



Application : IBM, SAP, People Soft, Microsoft



Database : Oracle, DB2, SQL, MS-SQL, MySQL



Facility : Non technical, Power sockets, furnitures



OS team



Operation : Monitoring the operations (performance, problems),



Help Desk : Laptop and Laptop access, mouse, keyboard, keypad 



Vendors : IBM, HP, SUN, RED HAT, SUSE, MICROSOFT



Automation : automatic paging, sms, mail to alert



Research & Development : Analyse the change/upgrade proposal and decides whether to allow or not.



Asset Management : Manages the assests. Eg. Single person with single Laptop, and keep records of the hardware the person have.
