Transcript Portfolio 1: Hi// my name is Carolina Santiago// and today I'm going to talk to you about the concept of leadership// based on some interviews I did// and finish up with my reflection.// To understand a concept as broad// and as complex// as leadership// I had to interview different kinds of leaders// and I just centered to one type// .That is why I talked to// educational// religious// business// and a social leader.// They all shared a common philosophy// which was that the most important thing for a leader was to care for their followers //and be aware of their problems.// This is related to the value of empathy.// They insisted that a leader// should know// what the problems are followers are facing// and always try// to help them solve them.// Another quality they insisted //was to be a good communicator// and they related it//a lot with empathy.// They insisted// that a good leader needs to be able to communicate clearly// to the people that are following him.// Besides// they stated that// it doesn't only take to be a good communicator// but also to be able// to create// a communicate// friendly// environment.// This way their followers will feel comfortable// expressing their ideas// and opinions// and the leader should have a welcoming attitude// towards them. Other two qualities// they talked about where// good decision-making// and accountability,// these two are closely related together// and work hand in hand.// One last value all leaders agreed on// was humility.//
