BUSINESS MEETING MINUTES August 10, 2005 President Sikora called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance The Secretary called the roll, 22 members were present. The minutes of the July meeting were read. Minutes were approved on a motion by T. Murray and E. Hoag. TREASURER’S REPORT Monthly Treasurer’s report was read and approved on a motion by P. Carlson and O. Vopelius. Bills for payment totaled $3000. Bills for the month were approved on a motion by J. Atchison and Hodshon CORRESPONDENCE Incoming: letter from NJ State Firemen’s Association. Re: Golf outing. Letter from J. Killian re: thanks for the flowers. Outgoing: letter to T. Ciccarone re: bill for Ladder testing, springs for E-11. Letter to C. Sagendorf thanking her for her help. Letter to G. Blacklock thanking them for helping at the pig roast. Letter to D. Hodshon thanking him for his help at the pig roast. Letter to J. Hartford for his help at the pig roast. Letter to S. Imbimbo thanking them for their help at the pig roast. CHIEFS REPORT During National Night Out R-14 backed into a car. A SOG is now in place to have someone back up all drivers except for southern boulevard. S. Sikora spoke with the gentleman and a visual estimate was given for $1700. The department will pay for the damages. Meetings with the town in regards to the new communication system is taking place. COMMITTEES Protocol: nothing to report LOSAP: Posted. Fund Drive: Otto stated that to we have received to date a total of 1,458 returns for $91,370.04 . The new trading cards are to go out August 26th, There will be articles in the paper. Grants: no report

Badge and Uniform: the shirts are in, hats are in production. The time frame for job shirts and jackets are September/October. Membership/insurance: M. Morris was voted in as a member on a 17 yes and 0 No votes. Claim was submitted for D. Roebuck. 8/1 we renewed our accident sickness insurance for $3900. Station 2 Feasibility: No report. Merit: Posted. House Rentals/equipment: T. Murray 9/24/05 3-9pm. Nov 8th elections Web: Updated. Check it out. River Road: An A/C timer has been ordered for the crew room. Its been bypassed until the part comes in. The alarm system is obsolete and we have bids. Hughes is the lowest. The phone system is quitting once a week, need to consider getting a new one. The lock company ordered a new lock for the public room. Southern Blvd: The side of the building was painted, the building was cleaned up. The trim and the door was painted. The inside was power washed. Thanks to all those who helped. Publicity: No report. Newsletter: No report Communications: No report. ID Badges: all members were reminded that they need to get id badges. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: T. Murray brought up putting the siren back into service. He will follow up with Chief Burke. GOOD AND WELFARE D. Roebuck got a card for his accident. G. Hinds passed away(GVVFD). All members are to meet at 715pm at fire headquarters for firemen’s service. Full dress blues. ADJOURNMENT – Adjournment on a motion by Gorman and Harnois at 8:04.

CHATHAM TOWNSHIP VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT BENEVOLENT President Sikora opened the meeting at 8:05 The minutes of the July meeting were read and approved on a motion by Icart and Sagendorf TREASURERS REPORT The monthly report was read and approved on a motion by Gorman and T. Murray TREE COMMITTEE- Ordered KITCHEN/RECREATION -Collecting wood for T. Murray’s retirement party. RELIEF September 15-18 is convention. Application is in to the state for G. Hinds, death benefit . OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: No children are to be unaccompanied at the firehouse. Care packages to the troops are being worked on again. Make a motion by Cotter for $1,000 from benevolent. 2nd by Harnois. Motion passed Minors are not allowed behind the bar, starting immediately. B. Sagendorf wants to be the judge of a poster contest for elementary children. He was looking for support on the idea.
