As many of you know, our youngest daughter Rachel was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma last August. Rachel has finished her chemo and radiation treatments and at this time appears to be free of cancer. Rachel still has a ways to go, but is back in school and at work with the schedule of a normal twenty year old. Our family wants to thank Father Tom for his support, as well as persons in the parish, both known and unknown to us, who have added Rachel to their prayers. The power of your thoughts and prayers coupled with Rachel’s determination to defeat the disease is leading to a positive outcome. We will never be able to thank all of you and we’ll be forever grateful for your efforts. Lynn and Jan Meredith

If you are a parishioner with a child who will be 3, 4, or 5 by August 31 and you did not receive a mailing, please call the school office immediately, 2316941.

FOOD PANTRY Wesley House, our local food pantry, for the second year in a row, has been given the opportunity to double any gifts of food or money donated to them during the months of March and April. Mr. Alan Feinstein, Cranston, RI, has announced that he will match any donation of food or money contributed to Wesley House; they will receive $1.00 for each pound item or dollar. If you wish to donate by check, please make it payable to Wesley House and have “Feinstein” on the memo line. For your information. ***Our parish has supported the Wesley House food pantry for years. It is a great way to centralize the distribution of food in our community. This eliminates the duplication of efforts. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wichita subsidizes the salary of a full time social worker, Alberta, at Wesley House. This is just one of the ways the Catholic Church provides assistance to those in need in the Pittsburg area.

Please remember to name Our Lady of Lourdes or St. Mary’s Colgan Schools in your will. May we leave a legacy of faith and education for the generations to come. Please consider informing Fr. Tom or the parish office of your legacy plans, [email protected]
