The Nicene Creed We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. Father, we pray for your holy catholic Church; That we all may be one. Grant that every member of the Church may truly and humbly serve you; That your Name may be glorified by all people. We pray for all bishops, priests, and deacons; That they may be faithful ministers of your Word and Sacraments. We pray for all who govern and hold authority in the nations of the world; That there may be justice and peace on the earth. Give us grace to do your will in all that we undertake; That our works may find favor in your sight. The Announcements VWAP Reflection Dinner This Thursday, August 27th from 6:30-8 pm, all are invited to an event celebrating the recent mission trip to Philippi. The evening will include a DVD, Powerpoint slide show, and personal testimonies. The cost is $5 for adults (children eat free). Present Sermon Series: Shining Like Stars in the World Exploring Paul’s Letter to the Philippians, we are setting aside twenty-four weeks for intentional Christian growth. These themes will guide us through the summer and prepare us for the new season ahead. Come and see.
