Twenty-first Sunday After Pentecost October 25, 2009

Let us pray for the Church and for the world. Grant, Almighty God, that all who confess your Name may be united in your truth, live together in your love, and reveal your glory in the world. Lord, in your mercy Hear our prayer. Guide the people of this land, and of all the nations, in the ways of justice and peace; that we may honor one another and serve the common good. Lord, in your mercy Hear our prayer. Give us all a reverence for the earth as your own creation, that we may use its resources rightly in the service of others and to your honor and glory. Lord, in your mercy Hear our prayer. Bless all whose lives are closely linked with ours, and grant that we may serve Christ in them, and love one another as he loves us. Lord, in your mercy Hear our prayer. Comfort and heal all those who suffer in body, mind, or spirit; give them courage and hope in their troubles, and bring them the joy of your salvation. The Confession of Sin And now, O Father, we pray to you also for our greatest need, the forgiveness of our sins: Have mercy upon us, most merciful Father; in your compassion forgive us our sins, known and unknown, things done and left undone; and so uphold us by your Spirit that we may live and serve you in newness of life, to the honor and glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. The Announcements Wednesday Evenings at Good Shepherd Beginning Wednesday, November 3rd from 6:15-7:30, we will gather weekly for a time of intentional Christian growth. Make plans now to bring a friend to the first four-week session led by Pastor Kyle entitled “Stress-Free Living: How’s It Working For You?” To accompany this adult course, Miss Jessica and her team will offer a host of exciting opportunities for children through 5th grade. Details to follow. Children's Activity Time (C.A.T. Time) Our first CAT Activity will be this Saturday, October 31st, for all children and their families, at Rural Hill in Huntersville. We will meet there at 12:00 to explore the corn maze together. More detailed information will be available soon. Please contact Jessica Coulter ([email protected]) with any questions. A Day Together Ladies of COTGS are invited to participate in a day retreat on Saturday November 7th from 9:45 to 2:30 at 262 South Street (across from IB School). Operation Christmas Child – Share the Love of Christ by Packing a Shoebox Our children will be collecting packed shoe boxes and needed items for Samaritan’s Purse - Operation Christmas Child.
