Building Trades Council Announces Endorsement of Paula Mahan

ALBANY 9/22/09—Today, the Greater Capital Region Building and Construction Trades Council announced its unanimous endorsement of Paula Mahan in her bid for Re-election as Colonie’s Town Supervisor. “Paula Mahan has a proven track record of fighting for high-road economic development in the Town, and has shown that fiscal responsibility doesn’t have to be achieved on the backs of working families,” said Bob Mantello, President of the Trades Council and of Bricklayers Local #2. Mr. Mantello expressed hope that the coming election would “provide voters the opportunity to look at Paula’s achievements both in stabilizing the Town’s financial outlook , and in building a brighter future for the residents by developing a strong vision for further developing the Town.” “I am honored to receive this endorsement which signifies the support of thousands of working men and women in the Town of Colonie,” said Mahan. “Our aggressive approach to addressing the Town’s financial problems, coupled with our innovative approach to planning and development have the Town headed back in the right direction.” The Greater Capital Region Building and Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO is comprised of twenty trade unions representing twelve thousand union members in the Capital Region. ###
