Brazil is a country in South America.  The capital-Brasilia.  Brazilian currency is the Real. It is the fifth largest country in the world  It is the fifth most populous country in the world with a population of approximately 186 million  The official language-Portuguese  Catholicism is the predominant religion  Climate : Sub Tropical Temperate

Physical Features Brazil is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on

the east. It has a coastline of over 7,491 kms.  It is bordered on the north by Venezuela,

Suriname, Guyana and on the northwest by Colombia; on the west by Bolivia and Peru; on the southwest by Argentina and Paraguay and on the south by Uruguay.  

The mountain ranges include the Mantiqueira

Mountains, the Espinhaço Mountains, and the Serra do Mar. The highest point in Brazil is the Pico da

Neblina with 3,014 metres (9,890 ft). Major rivers include the Amazon, the largest

river in terms of volume of water, and the second-longest in the world; the Paraná and its major tributary, the Iguaçu River, where the Iguaçu Falls are located.

Carnivals of brazil Carnival's roots go back to the ancient

Romans and Greeks who celebrated the rites of Spring. In the Middle Ages, when the Catholic Church tried to suppress all nature worshipping ideas, it failed when it came to this celebration. The Portuguese had a taste for abandoned merriment, they brought the “entrudo”, a prank where merry-makers throw water, flour, face powder, and many other things at each other's faces  Brazilian Carnival is an annual celebration held 40 days before Easter .

Republic, the Brazil parliament. It is located in São Paulo. The Palace has its origin in the first Benedictine monastery established in 1598.

bEACHES Copacabana is a borough located in the southern

zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro and is famous for its 4 km beach which is one of the most famous of the world.Copacabana is also famous for its nightlife. Botafogo is a beachfront neighborhood (bairro)

in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is mostly a middle and high-class community, located between the hills of Mundo Novo, Santa Marta and Morro de São João . It is named after João Pereira de Sousa Botafogo, who was its landowner in colonial times. Its name literally means "set it on fire“.

MUSIC CHORO It is a Brazilian popular music style. Its origin is in the 19th century. Originally choro was played by a trio of flute guitar and cavaquinho. Other instruments commonly played in choro are the mandolin, clarinet and saxophone. TROPICALIA Combined American and European styles with electric guitars and different kinds of genuine Brazilian music, beginning a genre called tropicalia.
