Materials List Notebook for taking class notes Sketch book for drawing: preferably with good drawing paper Tracing paper 8 1/2 x 11” OR 9 x 12” pad OR roll of 12” bumwad (bumwad is tracing paper in a roll rather than a pad) Drawing Pencils: 2B, B, HB, 2H, 4H (ex: Tombo, Berol Turquoise, Derwent, Staedtler) Pencil Sharpener: battery operated or small hand operated Erasers: kneaded eraser (grey), white rubber/plastic eraser Inexpensive Drawing Paper: 9” x 12” White drawing or Sketch pad Bristol Vellum Pad: 9” x 12” (Recommended brands: Strathmore, Canson) Removable tape: white paper tape, drafting tape or 3m removable tape Value scale: a store-bought scale or one made in one of the previous BI classes View Finder: purchase an inexpensive 6”x8” mat and we will make View Finders in class Small sheet of white foam core board or stiff, lightweight white paperboard
