speech therapist is someone who handles or provide services to patients or clients who are having problems in their health such as speech disorders, swallowing, fluency rhythm, sounds and language. But a speech therapist does not stand alone, so a speech therapist treatment under doctors, rehab, ENT doctor, psychology, and others. A speech therapist who will perform the practice must have License Speech Therapy Practice (SIP). (PERMENKES Decree No: 867 / Menkes / Per / VIII / 2004).



speech therapists Services are services to individuals, a group given a speech therapist in accordance with their capabilities and field.



The practice of speech therapy is an activity performed by speech therapists in providing services and practices associated with impaired communication, swallowing and language. The practice of speech therapy are also included in the action anamnesis, assessment, diagnosis, therapy planning, therapy implementation, and evaluation.

Speech Therapy history in Indonesia

History of Speech Therapy at the Ministry of Health Polytechnic Surakarta

Speech therapy in Surakarta MoH Polytechnic was established on June 5, 2006 by decree of the Minister of Health a.n head of the development and empowerment of community health resources, No. 01.01.1.4.2.02568 OT, as the department of occupational therapy department. In 2007 Prodi officially became the Speech Therapy Speech Therapy department at the Polytechnic of Surakarta. April 26, 2012 Department of Speech Therapy opens Prodi D-IV Speech Therapy with SK establishment no HK 3:05 / 1.2 / 03 067/2012 and SK extension of the operational date of October 10, 2012 by Decree 355 / E / 0/2012 so today in the Polytechnic Surakarta majors Speech therapy has a D-III study program Speech therapy and Speech therapy IV.
