Black History in the Curriculum An introduction to the Sugar Media’s Black History Month Educational Resource Pack for Key stage 2 and Key Stage 3

Wednesday September 24 2008 4pm to 6pm Venue: The Learning & Business Centre, Cator Street, London SE15 6AA Black History Month, held in October, provides an ideal opportunity for schools and colleges to celebrate the cultural and religious diversity of black and minority ethnic communities in British society. In Southwark we want all our teachers and school support staff to feel confident in their knowledge, understanding and delivery of Black History not only in Black History Month, but throughout the year as part of a curriculum offer rich accurately reflects the diversity and richness of British Society today .
