Wednesday, November 4, 2009 | 18:44 pm TABANAN, KOMPAS.com - Provincial Government of Bali in 2010 spend Rp2, 4 billion for prevention of rabies on the

island which became an international tourist destination that. "The funds are sourced from the budget specifically budgeted for the prevention of rabies. It comes from an unexpected budget heading," said Chief of Health Dr. Nyoman Bali Sutedja on the sidelines of the implementation of Rabies Day A World in Tabanan, Wednesday (4 / 11). He admitted, as long as there is no obstacle in the availability of the budget for the transmission of rabies prevention efforts in Bali. Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika also recognized always quick and responsive in the event of shortage of budget. "The process of disbursement of rabies prevention budget was not too long so that the process of prevention efforts can quickly be done," he said. The funds are included to rabies victim services at the hospital and the purchase of antirabies vaccine for people bitten by dogs. He admitted, in the last few weeks several counties and cities in Bali antirabies vaccine shortage (VAR). But certainly this VAR deficiency occurs not due to a shortage of funds from the government to buy vaccines, but due to limited supply from the distributor. You see, all this time Indonesia still imported from abroad VAR.Local governments have a supply of funds, but the vaccine is not there. That's because the vaccine plant in France. He added, to meet the needs of VAR in Bali, local governments are now allocating the purchase of about 8400 vials of VAR. However, VAR vial 8400 is still in the procurement process or order. Expected procurement VAR vial 8400 is enough to meet the needs of the vaccine during October 2009 until January or February 2010. While the Director General of Disease Control & Environmental Health Department Prof. dr Tjandra Yoga Aditama recommend to Bali to develop rabies centers in all districts and cities.
