Australian Dialect Sound Changes

1. -My nana taught me how to thread a needle and said its important to keep a steady head. -The recipe said to shred the bread and then dip it in the spread. -Our teacher ted led the students to their school beds to take their naps. 2. -I ate some of the bait for the fish and didn’t feel too great after. -I had eight dates with this guy until I realized there wasn’t a trait about him I liked. -Even though I had to wait to long to meet my date, when I did, it seemed like fate. 3. -While I was hoist up in the air on a fly system, I didn’t have a choice to make my voice heard. -I had to wait until the joist was moist to build with it, once it was, I rejoiced. -I feel like a kid with a new toy when I enjoy soy sauce on my Chinese food. 4. -The night light on the wall was bright. -I was alright at flying kites but sometimes I pulled the string too tight. -I might take a bite of that sandwich and drink some sprite. 5. -The owl was on a prowl for a midnight snack and we knew it found what it wanted by the yowl. -She vowed right now that she would never hit a foul ball again. -In acting were taught how to endow certain objects to allow for better connections during the scene.

6. -I heard the bird up in the tree being absurdly loud. -The third blizzard the city had put everyone in a stir. -I encountered a neutered leopard. 7. -We shut the hut to keep out any mutts. -All the girls who didn’t strut their butts were cut. -At first, we thought “what a good putt” but then it ended up in the rut. 8. Non-rhotic, end of syllable or immediately before a consonant -The baker had to make sure the chowder wasn’t bitter. -My sister use to eat butter like it was her dinner. -It’s important to flavor the cucumbers or else they will be sour. 9. -It was a cute suit that brute had on. -We had a dispute on how to properly redistribute the fruit. -The prosecutor was in cahoots with the prostitutes. 10. -The baby needed to breast-feed, or she’d be hungry. -We didn’t know how to proceed after his nosebleed dirtied the entire floor. -We hurried and studied so we remained unworried about the exam.
