Dates to Remember: -Friendship Week: Monday 8th– Friday 12th April -Easter Holidays: Friday, April 12th at 12 noon - Monday, April 29th -National Spring Clean: 29th April-3rd May -NCBI Collection, April 29th –May 3rd -First Holy Communion: Sunday, May 12th -School Tour: Wednesday, June 19th Wellbeing Workshop This worthwhile workshop, took place on Monday, March 25th in the school. Thank you to all who came along; we hope you found it to be both informative and beneficial. Confirmation The children from 5th and 6th class were confirmed in All Saints Church in March. Well done to them all, they did themselves, their families and the school proud. It was a lovely occasion. A word of thanks from Ms. Ryan for the beautiful bouquet of flowers. Green School News - 7th flag The National Spring Clean will take place in the school in April, when the children will be busy giving our school and gardens a spring clean. Keeping our school litter free is a whole school community effort; thank you for your cooperation. As the weather improves we encourage as many children as possible to participate in our WOW (Walk on Wednesday). We had our renewal inspection last Wednesday and the Green School committee really impressed our visitor from An Taisce. Our application form has been submitted and we await news of our success. Lá Glas - Non Uniform Day As part of our celebrations for Seachtain na Gaeilge we held a non uniform day where the children dressed in green. A great effort was made by everyone and a total of €48 was raised on the day. Thanks to all who contributed. Voluntary Contribution The BOM wishes to sincerely thank parents for their continued support. Parents are reminded that these contributions are vital to the running of the school.

Parents’ Association News

and Notices -Thank you to all parents who gave up their valuable time and helped out with the line selling in SuperValu last weekend; it is greatly appreciated. -We will host another clothing collection for the NCBI in April from Monday the 29th to Friday, May 3rd. Happy Spring Cleaning! -We continue to collect any copper coins, so all are very welcome. -First Holy Communion will be coming up on Sunday, May 12th, we hope you will all be able to help out on the day with baked goods and your time. More information to follow. Good Weather and School Uniform Parents are reminded that full school uniform must be worn up until the end of the year; as agreed all jumpers and tracksuits should be plain/logo free, except for school crest. Children are allowed to wear blue/grey shorts and sunhats if we have good weather in the coming weeks/months. Please ensure that children are wearing sunscreen before coming to school to protect against sunburn. Reminder: Children are not allowed to wear jewellery (only stud earrings in ear lobes) for health & safety reasons. Enrolment The school is now taking enrolments for September 2019. Enrolment forms are available from the school. School Tour The school tour will take place on Wednesday, 19th June. The whole school will go to Carlow IT to the ‘Just 4 Fun’ activity camp. This promises to be an action packed day of adventure suitable for all age groups. Thanks to the fundraising by the P.A., the price of the tour and bus is € 20 per child. We will accept payment in full or instalments at your convenience. Further details regarding the tour will be sent home closer to the date.

Friendship Bracelets We will celebrate Friendship Week next week and support Amnesty International. Bracelets will be on sale @ €2 each and children will be allowed to wear them in school for the week. The children will also take part in ‘Buddy Activities’ each day.
