Analisis kontrastif (contrastive analysis) adalah kajian sistematis terhadap pasangan bahasa untuk mengenali perbedaan dan persamaan di antara keduanya. Metode ini pada awalnya digunakan untuk menentukan rumpun bahasa. Pada tahun 1957, Robert Lado meletakkan dasar penggunaan analisis kontrastif dalam pemerolehan bahasa kedua sebagai metode untuk membantu mengatasi kesulitan pembelajaran bahasa.
