Chapter 1 Back Packing A Poem By Anthony J. Fejfar © Copyright 2007 by Anthony J. Fejfar I got my gear, From the store, Back Pack too, Forever more. Pack Rod was, So very nice, Cool for me, Just as ice. Sleeping Bag too, In my pack, Mummy bag, In my lap. I hiked the first mile, Up a grade, Winding path, Forest shade. The Mountain Meadow, Was beautiful true, Narrow path, Hiker’s view.

3

I hiked for miles, Valley floor, Open window, Open door. Upon a Pond, I came to rest, Mountain view, Hiker’s nest. I unpacked my tent, Upon the ground, A safehaven, I had found. Bungee Poles, Are nifty true, Never lost, Never glue. I placed Fishing Rod, In rule, Next to me, Hoping to catch, A Trout to see. I laid fishing line, Upon the water cold, Hoping for Trout, Big and Bold.

4

I laid a fly upon the water, Hoping that a Trout would show, No live bait, Not that slow. Down went the fly, Into the deep, My rod tip bent, A fish to keep.

Chapter 11

The Clue A Poem By Anthony J. Fejfar © Copyright 2007 by Anthony J. Fejfar Why are we here? Where are we going? Many Navigate life, Without even knowing. So many people, We meet everyday, Who are they really? It’s so difficult to say. We all want to be happy, What can this mean? Advertising tells us, It’s wearing the right jean. But Christ tells us different, It’s not easy to take, He calls us to loving, Without being fake. To do so is not easy, That we can see. Open and caring, Is so difficult to be.

24

None of us is perfect, We can always do more. Sure it’s not easy, It’s rather a chore. Mistakes and hurt feelings Will always abound, But that’s only natural, With Humans around. So reach out and be open, This we must do. All of us together, Many not few. For if we stay hidden, Wrapped up in our shell, The world we create Will be our own little hell. We all have our problems, Some great, some small, We must help each other, In solving them all. The world is so huge, We are so few, Small drops in an ocean, What can we do? Lay claim to a corner, Of this world so large, Change a small piece of it, Let this be your charge.

25

Life is before us, Short or perhaps long. Our God gives us strength, So that we may be strong. We can be happy, Christ gave us the Clue, He said, “Love one another, as I have loved you.”

27

I saw star fish true, Upon the shore, Sailing in, More and more.

Jelly Fish, I stayed away, Far from me, Sunlit day. Sting Ray shell, Upon the beach, Very easy, For my reach. So to the beach, I do go, Wandering there, To and fro.

Walking A Poem By Anthony J. Fejfar © Copyright 2007 by Anthony J. Fejfar I walked through The desert, On yonder morn, Spying chickens, Shucking corn. I walked by the Lake, Water full, Never a moment, That could be dull. I walked down the path, Straight and true, Forest Rain, Forest Dew. I walked on the first day, Of creation shone, Found many a Wizard, Never a crone. I walked on the first day, Of creation real, Trout fishing day, Fishing Creel.

33

I walked on the first day, On moonlit glenn, Forest People, Shone again. I walked into town, For all to see, Nickel lemonaide, My soul to feel. I walked into paradaise, Heaven’s gate, Never a problem, Never late. I walked into Hell, To see what’s what, Fire and brimstone, In a rut. I walked into purgatory, Open door, A lot of praying, Nary a snore. I walked into Heaven, For all to see, Meaningful Happiness, Eternity.

Chapter 16

Winter A Poem By Anthony J. Fejfar © Copyright 2006 by Anthony J. Fejfar

It was a cold, cold, night, It gave me a fright, Chill in the air, Not a care. Gloves too small, Fingers cold, Wind at my face, Backside cold. Snow in the air, A foot or more, A snow shovel soon, On the floor. The Wind did howl, I cried foul, Nary a care, Winter’s snare Snow drifts tall, Footprints small, A faint smile, For awhile. 35

Walk I did, From time to past, Christmas soon, No more fast. Crunch under foot, No more soot, Presents for me, Nativity.
