For Java Engineers who get excited by FinTech and high transactional product environments in which scalability, speed, innovation and modern technology are drivers of the platform / company this is the best place. In a brand-new office close to Central Station in Amsterdam (Netherlands) you will work with experienced professionals in a dynamic (flat) team structure that is fit for serious growth. There are many companies hiring experienced Software Engineers like yourself so why would you work here and not at one of the others!? • They are market (domain) leader internationally which means they innovate the market and pioneer both in product and technology. • Work / life balance is important and valued throughout the entire organization. You will notice this. • The Engineers are the core of the company. The teams have full ownership and influence on internal domains (sets of microservices) that operate as small start-ups within the larger organization. • A fulltime barista that prepares fresh quality coffee, good lunch is provided, fruit, drinks etc. • No hierarchy or ego’s – everyone is equal and the common goals are speed and freedom. • Not much ‘ugly legacy’ but mostly development of new features from idea to design to production. • The scale of the systems (# transactions for example) is extremely high! Your job and the requirements You will be joining a full-on engineering culture in which technology is the heart of the company. Your role is to actively contribute to this culture and the product as individual within the teams. There are 18 different (multidisciplinary) teams varying in sizes from 5 to 15 individuals working very efficiently as small start-ups within the organization. This structure is set-up for Engineers to be able to work on the entire platform. • Extensive knowledge (3+ years) in any OO programming language, preferably Java. • Together with your team you will be defining the technical roadmap and push for (new) technical initiatives that improve the robustness (scalability, reliability and agility) of the systems. • Together with your team you take ownership. There are no Architects, this is a part of your role as well and together with the team you create/expand requirements, design the solution and make it happen. • You preferably have experience in high volume (transactional) product / platform environments. • Multithreading experience is a plus. • You enjoy code reviews and creating an environment in which everyone becomes better. • You are no fan of long meetings, long approval processes and legacy work – You want to build the most robust, fastest performing and most reliable platform possible using the latest technology without unnecessary delays during your work – speed is good! Must have tech skills: Java8, PostgreSQL, TDD etc. Nice to have skills: Microservices, Cryptography (Security), Cloud, Multithreading, CI/CD, full stack skills etc.

Company FinTech (domain) is booming. The ‘Financial Technology’ market is growing the fastest out of all the markets because payments, banking etc. are the drivers of businesses in modern economies. This company is in the forefront of FinTech, transforming how people / companies pay and how buying and trading online is done. This requires the best systems, the latest technology available for performance, scalability etc. to keep pushing. Over the past years the company has grown to an Engineering team of around 200 split in multiple locations but the majority is based in Amsterdam which is the HQ. The growth plans are impressive so you will be part of a serious scale-up environment that is stable and definitely worth relocating to Amsterdam for. Last but not least is the importance of a good work / life balance, this is high on the priority list. Salary & Benefits: The salary is amongst the best in Amsterdam but depends on what you bring to the table in terms of skills, personality and experience. Some of the secondary benefits: a permanent contract, company shares, health insurance allowance (€145 p/m), 8% holiday allowance, holidays, laptop, travel allowance, relocation package for internationals, training & conferences budget, 30% ruling, VISA sponsorship, lunch is provided etc.
