Jijau Shrushti
INTRODUCTION Maharashtra is a state of Marathi peoples, but what is the history of Maharashtra, how it was born, vary few peoples knows this. My project 'Jijau Shrushti' will focus not only on the history of Maharashtra but also on the Jijamata and Shivaji Maharaj.
What is the purpose of 'Jijau Shrushti'? Although Maharashtra is having a vast background of Shivaji Maharaj and Jijamata but there is no structure or place where anybody can get an information about Jijamata. So that's why, it is a need that a different world should be created such that it will have a display of historical monuments, history, light and sound show of history, meditation center, auditoriums where dramas will be played.

JIJAU SRUSHTI The saga of Chhatrapati Shivaji Bhosale, his phenomenal rise to power and the sculpting of an independent Maratha Rajya against overwhelcoming odds is a golden chapter in the history of India. He is the embodiment of all that is gallant, honorable and secular in the Indian tradition. He is a living example of the "Karma Yoga" of the Bhagvat Gita. The hands that rocked his cradle, guided his footsteps from a tender age, the mind that lit the fierce fire of patriotism in him and the heart that gave him courage through the darkest hours, were those of his mother - JIJAU. She was truly "Shakti" incarnate - a goddess, an angel, temper and loving as a mother to her children, who could assume the form of "Mahakali" to vanquish evil. CHARISMATIC JIJAU Jijau was married to Raje Shahaji somewhere between 1611 AD. The traumatic event which turned the course of history was the brutal killing of

Jijau's father, both her brothers and nephew
in the Raj Durbar of the
Nizam in 1629. Raja Shahaji was kept prisoner by the Adilshah inspite of his loyalty and selfless service. These events lit the fire of SWARAJYA - a free Maratha state, in Jijau's heart. After staying with Raje Shahaji in Karnataka till 1640 Jijau returned to Pune with her ambition of "Swarajya" and her son Shivba. The times were difficult, the enemy was strong and surrounded the Maratha Region on all sides. There was no unity amongst the various Maratha Sardars. It was in this hostile soil that JIJAU planted the tender sapling of SWARAJYA in Shivba's heart and nurtured it to maturity.
Shivba learnt lessons of
warfare, administration and politics under her watchful eye. He and his handful of Marathas started with small victories against the mighty Moghuls. Strategic locations were captured, Maratha sardars were united under the ideal of Swarajya, military power and supplies were amassed and at all times justice and rights of the weak and the downtrodden were

upheld.
JIJAU's vision had started to take shape.
Subsequent events
proved her to be a woman of courage, and integrity, one who combined clever politics with able administration, built on a strong foundation of humanitarianism, and justice. MSS has taken up the mammoth tak of translating the preaching and ideas of JIJAU in the form of a project - JIJAU SRUSHTI., at Sindkhed Raja, her birth place. Sindkhed Raja is in Buldhana District, 30 Kms. From Jalna, well connected to the Nagpur-Pune Highway by an all season road. It is also the capital of Raje Lakhuji Jadhav in 1565.
With a population of
45000, it was at that time a well developed commercial center and is today a place of tremendous historical importance.
THE IDEA The MSS wishes to develop this historical place into a pilgrimage and educational center of international repute.
C.O.E.&T.,Akola.
5
At the initiative of the
Jijau Shrushti
Maharashtra Government, a Jijau Gramin Vidyapeeth, Jijau Sangrahalaya (Museum) and Jijau Granthalaya (Library) have already been set up there. Further, the MSS also has plans to set up a Jijau Dharmapeth and Jijau Temple.
This entire complex will be known as JIJAU SRUSHTI.
This
magnificient project will have the capacity to accommodate 50,000 people with facilities for lodging and boarding. It is envisaged as a "Matru Tirth", a sacred pilgrimage not only for the Marathas but for all Indians. It will provide an insight into JIJAU's contribution to Indian history. This shall be depicted by way of Sculptures, paintings as well as through the latest electronic medium like Laser shows, CAD, LCD displays etc. A meditation center, a temple, a study centre, a research wing and stage of the art library facilities shall make JIJAU SRUSHTI an ideal educational center.

THE MEGA PROJECT The scope of the project is all-encompassing-ranging from the educational,

center.
Conceptualising and realizing this mammoth dream without imparting any parochial or dogmatic flavour will require studied, broadminded and wide ranging inputs. The Maratha Sewa Sangh has given deep thought to these aspects and has enlisted the support and help of reputed people in the fields of civil engineering, architecture, history, religion and social science and, having acquired 40 acres of land, are determined to bring to fruition this tribute to JIJAU in the ardent hope that the people of this country will draw inspiration there from and some more 'Shivbas' will emerge in this country to help recapture our lost glory.
