This beautiful lake home brought out the serious as well as the curious. This was a great opportunity for some to get their chance at owning a very unique home with a breathtaking view of Old Hickory Lake. from page 1
. . .”Lake Home “ The crowd started arriving early in order to view the home. In fact, the 11:00 start of the auction was delayed due to the number of people still going through the house and arriving for the auction. After all, you need a little time to take in all of the beauty this lovely home offers.
Colonel Mark Williams calls the bids
Colonel Mark Williams of ReMax Choice Properties in Hendersonville, TN conducted this auction which was being sold by owner confirmation.
Immediately a bid of $750,000 was registered and this started a flurry of bidding from numerous interested parties. After this fast paced auction slowed just a bit Williams informed the crowd he would not keep them there long and started to count down the sale. This sparked another quick round of bids
centering around the final two bidders. The last bid came in at $1,260,000. Under the terms of the auction, the price was taken to the seller for confirmation while Williams’ apprentice auctioneer, Shawn Jackson continued to call for bids outside. It only took a few minutes of persistent selling by Jackson to get the back up bidder to increase the bid. This began a private auction inside the home that lasted until after 5:00 p.m. that same evening. This was a very exciting auction which was expertly marketed and superbly conducted. It included over 25 registered bidders, many of whom were part of the bidding until near the very end of the sale. We would love to tell you how much the house sold for but, until the sale is actually closed, (it is in the process) the Real Estate and Auction Commissions frown on such disclosures. To find out, visit Mark William’s web site at www.NashvilleAuctions.Com. There you can get the latest on this auction and also take a peek at any future auctions they have coming up.

Egyptian sculpture from Ohio garden sells for $118K Monday, November 2, 2009 By The Associated Press CLEVELAND (AP) -- A bronze Egyptian sculpture from a Cleveland man's garden that he almost let an antique dealer take for $3,000 a few years ago has sold at auction for $118,000. The 4-foot tall sculpture of a woman carrying a water vessel on her head was in the yard when the man bought his house 40 years ago. Research determined that the piece was created in 1931 by Egyptian sculptor Mahmoud Mokhtar, whose works are the subject of an entire museum in Cairo.
