-3DUTIES: Typical Nature of duties for an Asst. Tech. (Elex) – (Post Code 1) The work of the Assistant Technician(Elex) would be to maintain field equipments used in seismic field parties. They are mainly ground electronics, communication equipment in the operational areas. Typical Nature of duties in a geophysical field party for a TA Gd.III (Geophy)-S - (Post Code 2) The work of the Technical Assistant Gd.III (Geophy)-S will be to inspect the proper laying of geophones in open field conditions. They may also be required to handle explosives which involves priming and loading after due training. They will be expected to maintain records of depths and other scientific data. iv)

Test Centre : The written test will be conducted at – Chennai. ONGC reserves the right to change the above mentioned Test Centre at its discretion.

Selection Methodology    







Eligible candidate will be required to appear for Written Test (Objective type ) consisting of Technical/discipline concerned & General awareness. The Test paper will be in English. The candidates who qualify in the written test shall be called for interview as per merit and criteria decided by the Management. The written test IS tentatively scheduled ON 17.01.2010 (The exact date of the test shall be communicated to the candidates through admit card and will also be available on ONGC website (www.ongcindia.com) Screening and selection will be based on the details provided, hence it is necessary that only accurate, full and correct information is furnished by the applicants. Furnishing of wrong / false information will be disqualification and ONGC will NOT be responsible for any consequence of furnishing of such wrong / false information . Departmental candidate must ensure filling their own CPF Number of ONGC in the appropriate column on the Online form failing which they shall not repeat SHALL NOT be screened/considered as departmental candidates . How to Apply

(i)

Take a printout of SBI Payment Challan form:

SBI payment Challan Form (Payment Form) is available on the home page. To Download the same Click here ►► The applicant will get 3 copies of the payment form; one for self, one for SBI & one to be sent to ONGC. The candidates can submit the payment, after filling payment detail in the challan form like (Journal No., Branch Name, Branch code & Deposit date) in any of the branch of State Bank of India (Rs.200/- for Gen/OBC candidate and Rs.50/- for SC/ST candidates) in ONGC A/c. No. 30827318409. Departmental candidates on roll of ONGC, including Term based/ Field Operators can apply directly by following procedure laid down in para D(ii) to D (v) below: (ii)

To fill the online application form following details should be ready with the candidates .        

Valid E-mail Id, Contact Number. Selection of Test centre Details of valid Employment Exchange registration of Gujarat i.e. Number, Validity from to and name of exchange where registered Qualification , percentage of marks , year of passing and Name of Institute. Date of Birth CPF No. for departmental candidates including Term based/Field Operators If Ex-Apprentice of ONGC, Place, Trade and period of Training . SC/ST/OBC certificate (in case of OBC, valid Non-creamy layer Certificate in the format applicable for post in Central Govt. /Central Govt. Undertaking) if applicable in the prescribed format duly signed by Competent Authority. Details of SBI payment Challan (Journal No, Branch Name, Branch code, Deposit date, where the Registration charges have been paid) Online submission of Application : Once the candidate has paid requisite fees in the Challan as mentioned in para D(i) above , eligible candidates would be required to apply online through a link apply Online for Recruitment of posts, Southern Sector (Chennai ) at ONGC website www.ongcindia.com . Concerned Employment Exchanges have also been informed to intimate eligible candidates to apply online to give wide publicity. Thus all candidates will have to apply online (including ONGC departmental candidates, Employment Exchange sponsored candidates, Ex-apprentices of ONGC and Contingent workers) No other mode of application will be accepted. Take a Print out of the online application – Once the form is filled and submitted , the candidate is required to download the system generated Registration Slip with unique registration number, space for photograph, signatures and other details of the candidates filled by him.

Documents to be sent by ordinary post. (Since Post Box do not accept registered post.) Printed Registration slip with affixed recent photograph (3.5x4.5 cms with white background) and signature in the space provided. ( NOTE: If the applicant is Departmental Candidate, Dependent of Deceased Employees who have not availed Financial Assistance , Contingent worker who has completed 240s day in 12 consecutive months etc. he needs to get the Registration Slip Certified / duly signed by the I/C HRER or his duly authorized representative before forwarding. Ex Apprentices of ONGC to attach requisite Apprentice Training Certificate of ONGC).



ONGC’s copy of the SBI payment challan form with bank seal. (Departmental candidates working in ONGC to send copy of their Identity card in lieu of challan) .



Copy of Caste certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC (alongwith Non creamy layer certificate in case of OBC).

Admit card for written examination: Exact date of the written test shall be communicated through admit card and will also be available at ONGC website www.ongcindia.com The admit card with details of the candidate, Roll No., date, time, venue of the examination, post applied for, category and discipline can be downloaded directly from the www.ongcindia.com at “Recruitment of Post for Southern Sector (CHENNAI)” by entering the unique registration number and date of birth printed on the registration slip . The same will also be emailed to the candidate at the email address mentioned in the application form. No other communication will be sent separately.

Following documents in original (as applicable) are required to be produced at the time of Interview (without which candidates will not be allowed to appear in the interview). (ii) SC/ST/OBC (In case of OBC Valid Non-creamy layer Certificate in the format applicable for post in Central Govt/Central Govt. Undertaking), if applicable, in the prescribed format duly signed by Competent Authority. (iii) Educational/Technical qualification certificate (will be reckoned on interview date). (iv) Proof of Date of Birth (v) Certificate from I/C HR-ER of the work centre of being Departmental candidate, Dependent of deceased as per policy, Contingent workers having completed 240 days in 12 consecutive months along with Identity Card if any) (vi) Certificate of Apprentice Training in ONGC (vii) No Objection Certificate in case of candidates in employment of Public Sector undertaking/Govt. Service.

Request for change of mailing address/examination centre/category/discipline as declared in the application, will not be entertained. However, ONGC reserves the right to cancel or add any centre depending on the response in that area/centre.

Registration slip should not have any enclosure except the challan copy and SC/ST/OBC certificate/copy of ID card ( for departmental candidate) as applicable.

(e)

The print out of registration slip should be untampered (No photocopies are allowed). In case of any overwriting or tampering of Registration slip, the candidature of the candidate shall be rejected. Candidate should retain the copy of their Challan and Registration Slip for future reference. The candidates are required to deposit the applicable fee, as indicated in para D(i) above at any branch of State Bank of India .
