Fact Sheet Highlights IPSTAR is one of the world’s largest and most advanced commercial satellites ever launched into orbit, and is designed for high speed communications over an Internet Protocol platform. IPSTAR's massive bandwidth capacity of 45 Gbps satisfies the enormous demand for broadband Internet of millions of users from governments, businesses and the telecom industry. IPSTAR's innovative multi-cellular spot-beam technology utilizes frequency reuse for increased satellite capacity and efficient use of bandwidth, while minimizing service cost. IPSTAR is synonymous with cost-effective broadband satellite services and solutions for any location lacking access to terrestrial infrastructures. IPSTAR is able to serve up to 2 million broadband users or provide backhaul for 20-30 million mobile subscribers. With nearly 200,000 user terminals sold, IPSTAR has achieved a critical milestone in its pursuit to bridge the digital divide. IPSTAR broadband service is currently available in 12 countries - namely Australia, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam and will be available in 14 countries across Asia-Pacific by the end of 2009.
