AIAC – A Look Ahead Into 2012CE – Part II
Continuation This article should be read in continuation to Part I of this series.
The Dwarka Incident As I mentioned in Part I of this article, if we can clearly understand the impact of the end of the last BIG cycle on humanity, we can nearly estimate the effect the end of another BIG cycle can have on us again. Mentioned below is a verse from the Musala Parva (Chapter 16) of the great epic Mahabharata. The shloka is 7.17
Translation After all the people had set out, the ocean, that home of sharks and alligators, flooded Dvaraka, which still teemed with wealth of every kind, with its waters. Whatever portion of land was passed over (by Arjuna), the ocean immediately flooded over with his waters. This apparently insignificant verse in Mahabharata holds a great key to understand the unfolding of events in the next BIG cycle. I would request readers who are not acquainted with epic of Mahabharata to go through the epic to understand the relevance of this event with the life of Krishna. After Krishna left for the heavenly abode, and the major Yadava heads were killed in fights among themselves; Arjuna went to Dwarka to bring Krishna's grandsons and the Yadava wives to Hastinapur. After Arjun left Dwaraka, it was submerged in the sea. The city Dwarka was founded by Krishna and was 12 “yojanas” from the sea (Arabian Sea). A “yojana” is a Vedic measure of distance used in ancient India. The exact measurement is disputed amongst scholars with distances being given between 6 to 15 km (4 and 9 miles). This means that sea has moved 48-108 miles into the land from where it was from the last yuga.

The adjacent photographs are taken from Marine excavations at Dwarka. Since 1983 the Marine Archaeology Unit of the National Institute of Oceanography, Govt. of India is engaged in the offshore exploration and excavation of the legendary city of Dwaraka in the coastal waters of Dwaraka in Gujarat. Due to its historical importance and association with the Mahabharata, Dwaraka continues to attract archeologists and historians besides scientists even till date. On October 7th 2005, Dr. SR Rao, marine archaeologist, said ''We are of the view that Dwarka was submerged by tsunami-like high energy waves, pulling down heavy blocks of stone used in the construction of the structures. This must have also resulted in changing the course of the paleo channel of Gomti, as recorded by NIO maritime archaeologist K H Vora during recent studies''.
The Bronze Age The 4th millennium BCE saw major changes in human culture. It marks the beginning of the Bronze Age and of writing. The city states of Sumer and the kingdom of Egypt are established and grow to prominence. Agriculture spreads widely across Eurasia. World population in the course of the millennium doubles, approximately from 7 to 14 million people. Based on studies by glaciologist Lonnie Thompson (professor at Ohio State University and researcher with the Byrd Polar Research Center) a number of indicators shows there was a global change in climate 5,200 years ago, which was most probably due to a drop in Solar energy output as hypothesized by Ohio State University. However, there doesn’t seem to be any record of sea/ocean-level rising is recorded in any other ancient civilization. Some major events that have been reported to have happened in the 32nd / 31st century BCE are mentioned below-
