A Burden Shared The beauty of Heaven’s snow, Lies heavily on the roof below. The winds rustle the limbs of trees, Howling nature’s song through long forgotten leaves. The city begins to rise, The hum of electricity fills the air; The dawn creeps in, lighting night’s skies; Traffic purrs, pedestrians pass by. The imprint of footsteps of a solitary man, Leave a trail in the snow, winding round the bend. There’s a depth that speaks of a burden he does bear, And I ask of myself, “Is it one I can share?” © Shammah Matthew 25:35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you made me your guest. :36 I needed clothes and you provided them, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me. :37 Then the people who have done what G-d wants will reply, “L-rd, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink”? When did we see you a stranger and make you our guest, or needing clothes and provide them? :39 When did we see you sick or in prison, and visit you?” :40 The King will say to them, “Yes! I tell you that whenever you did these things for one of the least important of these brothers of mine, you did them for me!” Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest. :29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. :30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
