Pleo
What is it? Pleo is a dinosaur robot, it looks and acts like a baby camarasaurus.
What does it do? When he opens his eyes for the first time, he will slowly adapt to his environment, and it can do many actions. It can blink his eyes and stretch his body. It can senses, drives and communicates. Also, to use USB and SD card, it can learn new movement.
Who made it? It was designed by Caleb Chung, the co-creator of the Furby.
*furbyit is an owl pet robot.
When did it start? Pleo was unveiled on February 7, 2006 at the DEMO Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Why was it made? One of Pleo’s creator went to a museum and saw a fossil of camarasaurus and he decided to make a living dinosaur toy.
How does it work? Pleo has over 100 gears, and 14 motors for detail movement. Each motor has a force feedback sensor that makes them sensitive to grabs at the dinosaur's legs, neck, tail and so on. Ground sensors allow Pleo to know what position he is in. Some sensors wakes him up after he has fallen "asleep." Both front and back speakers make Pleo to communicate with some natural sounds.
How much is it? It costs $200.
Conclusion Pleo is a camarasaurus dinosaur robot. It is designed by Caleb Chung It has many sensors to do many movement. It can senses, drives and communicates. It can adapt to its environment It costs $200. Suggestion; add some sounds for Pleo.
