Madrid Train Bombings •11th of March, 2004, bombs went off in trains around Madrid, 911 days after the attacks in New York City •180 people killed and Al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for attacks and demanded Spanish troops be withdrawn from Arabic lands
London Bombings •July 7th 2005, bombs exploded on 3 underground trains and 1 double-decker bus in London •The bombings were timed and heavily planned, all but one exploded at 8:50 in underground trains. •The final exploded an hour later in a crowded town square 56 people were killed, attacks linked to Al-Qaeda
Mumbai Attacks •Three day long attack between the 26th of November and the 29th of 2008 •15 gunmen attacked the busy Indian city, attacking a Jewish center, 2 popular hotels and many other locations •Laskar-e-Taiba were linked to the attacks, raising the tension between Pakistan and India, almost pushing the 2 powers into a war
Beslan Hostage Crisis •On September 1st 2004, a 3 day hostage crisis began where 1,000 people (mostly children) were held hostage. •Terrorists demanded Vladimir Putin’s resignation and Russian withdrawn from Chechnya •Around 385 people died and over 750 people were injured. •Russian Special Forces stormed the building freeing the people who remained inside, while hundreds were killed trying to escape the gunfire
