North Union Middle School History Club Washington, DC Tour October 22, 2009 Dear Parents, The North Union Middle School History Club, in conjunction with Prodigy Student Travel, Inc. is organizing an educational tour of Washington, DC May 26-28, 2010. This tour will give your student an opportunity to experience first-hand the history and excitement of our nation’s capital. Arrangements for the tour will be made through Prodigy Student Travel, a fully licensed and insured educational travel company based in Columbus, OH. The trip package, priced at $360 per student (based on quad hotel occupancy and 40 minimum paid students per bus) includes the following: round-trip ground transportation, two nights of accommodations, eight meals, visits to Arlington National Cemetery, the U.S. Capitol Building, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Ford’s Theatre, all of the major memorials, and much more. The price also includes tour directors and night hotel chaperones and all taxes and gratuities. A non-refundable deposit of $90 per student will be due to Prodigy Student Travel by November 13, 2009. Kroger Fundraiser money can not be used for the deposit. Please make all checks and money orders payable to Prodigy Student Travel. **Individual Refund Policy: 1. Initial deposit is non-refundable. 2. As of 3-27-10, beyond the non-refundable portion (the deposit), portion of trip costs refundable to Prodigy Student Travel will be refunded to customer if PST is notified up to 30 days before departure date. 3. Refunds requested to Prodigy within 30 days of departure date will be made at the discretion of Prodigy Student Travel. **If the school decides to cancel the tour for security reasons at any time thru 3-26-10, each student will receive a 90% refund of the total trip price ($315). School cancellation as of 3-2710 will result in an 80% refund of the total trip price ($280). For a complete look at all of the details of the tour, please refer to the attached trip itinerary. Please sign and return the attached registration form along with the nonrefundable deposit by November 13, 2009. We are aware that the cost of the trip may be a financial burden. Students’ families can participate in the Kroger Community Rewards program. To date, 8th grade students have raised over $7,000 through the Kroger Community Rewards program that will be used for their trip. Please see the attached information sheet. Washington, D.C. Behavior Waiver North Union History Club would like to ensure that each student has a safe learning experience while enjoying the privilege of exploring our nation’s capitol. All trip participants are expected to understand that any student that has exhibited irresponsible or dangerous behavior that results in more than one detention per semester, in-school or out of school suspension, can or will lose the privilege of attending the trip.
