434 Table 7-A shows that there are 36 different kinds of illnesses, residents from all zones of
Brgy. 98 Camansihay, Tacloban City experienced from January 2017 to December 2017. Illnesses identified in the community could be categorized as Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases, Morbidity is a disease state or symptom or the incidence of disease. The table shows that the leading cause of morbidity for Brgy. 98 Camansihay Tacloban City is Cough and Colds, which is under Communicable Diseases. This implies that the people in the community need more awareness on how to prevent these illnesses. There are available interventions to avoid the occurrence of such illnesses.

Table 7-A shows the Top 10 Leading Causes of Morbidity in Brgy. 98 Camansihay, Tacloban City. Census results of 2017. The top 10 diseases were Cough and Colds, Cough/Colds/Fever, Diarrhea, Hypertension, Asthma, Rheumatism, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Tuberculosis and Fracture. Cough and colds ranked as number one with a total of 143 cases or a rate of 104.46 per 1000 population. While Fracture was ranked 10 with a total of 4 cases or a rate 2.92 per 1000 per population. The top 10 leading causes of morbidity includes five communicable diseases and 5 non-communicable diseases. The five communicable diseases were Cough and Colds, Cough/Colds/Fever, Diarrhea, and Tuberculosis. While the non-communicable diseases were Asthma, Hypertension, Rheumatism, Diabetes and Fracture. As of 2014, census result of the Philippines on the top 10 leading causes of morbidity, Acute Respiratory Infection was ranked first among the leading causes. While TB and other forms was ranked 10 among the leading causes. As of 2016, census result of Region VIII on the top 10 leading causes of morbidity, Acute Upper Respiratory Tract Infection was ranked first among the leading causes. While Gastrointestinal Disease was ranked 10 among the leading causes.
As of 2016, census result of Tacloban City on the top 10 leading causes of morbidity, Upper Respiratory Tract Infection was ranked first among the leading causes. While Urinary Tract Infection was ranked 10 among the leading causes. Non communicable
diseases is a medical condition that is non-infectious and
nontransmissible. Most often, NCD’s are referred as “chronic diseases” due to their long duration. NCD’s are a public health problem of great proportions. A communicable disease, on the other hand Communicable Diseases are illnesses caused by an infectious agent or its toxic products that is transmitted directly or indirectly to a person, animal, or intermediary host or inanimate environment. Respiratory Tract Infections is defined as any infectious disease of the upper or lower respiratory tract. Upper Respiratory tract infections (URTI’s) include the common cold, laryngitis, acute rhinosinusitis and acute otitis media
