Number of persons who are literarate out of 100 persons is called literacy ratio. In 2001, our literacy ratio was 65.38 (75.85 among males and 54.16 among females). In 1951, literacy ratio was only 16.7 (25 for males and 7.9 for females).

When central bank (RBI in India) takes action to control inflation and for that purchases or sells securities in open market – it is called open market operation.

What is the law of diminishing marginal returns? 



When unit a of a variable input are added to a fixed input and ultimately marginal return falls this is called the law of diminishing marginal returns. It is the law of short run only – in the long run all the factors are variable – so this law will not apply. For example: capital is 100, labour is variable from 10 to 100. as we increase labour, initially marginal production will increase, but finally it will start decreasing. www.afterschoool.tk
